Yeah, agreed. Not replacing the skinny brushes in the sets was a mistake. Take the hit and replace the brushes. Customers will be happier. If I was new to them, I would be confused as to why some shades have skinny brushes and others not.

Right!! I was glad to see some of these shades did come with replacements like the jellies, but def a missed opportunity to not swap the rest. And yeah that’s a great point too about it being confusing to new customers 😅

I think doing these little trio bundles with cute themes is a great idea. One- because it makes them more giftable - not too much, enough that it's a substantial gift (vs just one polish), but also takes the pressure off picking a random assortment your friend might like and is more like "here's a cute cohesive trio!" And two-, I definitely agree that finding other things to do besides moremoremore new stuff all the time is something I wish more boutique brands were careful of! Too much new stuff indiscriminately can water down the prestige. That said, they should definitely all have the wide brush, esp since it's largely for gifting purposes which might not be given to someone who's deep in the nail polish game. A casual user might really be thrown by the different brush sizes and the difficulty of the skinny brushes.

Love your nail art , it's adorable! Sadly, none of the polishes call to me, I'm not a pastel, ethereal polish person, although I know you are Stephanie. I love the idea of a curated box triplet, as that's a great gift idea, and I agree drawing on current stocks, and shades is absolutely cool The wide brush is a must have!!! As a dedicated vampy, in your face, bold and can be seen from across a room, polish gal, these weren't for me, but the *idea* is fabulous. Thanks again for your excellent, honest and sincere swatches Stephanie!

I love these as sets, great gift ideas too! I wish they’d included a replacement wide brush but it would mess up the unboxing experience so… tough one. But a wide brush makes such a huge difference on sheers and pearlescent shades! They chose the easy option imo

The problem with pearls…only try them on a good day IMO. These are beautiful concepts but I have a lot of them or very similar shades and I can’t justify more. I just have to mix and match. I might consider them as a gift. Thank you for the swatches and your commentary.

I cannot with the old brushes. But that's fine bc i bought a bunch of replacements 😅 these are beautiful & i don't have any of these yet so it's quite tempting. I wouldn't gift them with diff brushes. That's so stingy that they can't stick to the same brush all around. They def make a dang good jelly polish. Love your video!!! Your candy cane nail art even looked like candy bc of the red jelly!! So cool!

On the subject of brushes, I wonder if you have some thoughts about the utility of the skinny brush. I've been thinking about it over the last week because I had done a kind of unplanned/spontaneous nail look where I first put down a couple coats of a silvery ultra holo indie polish, but then I decided that I wanted to jazz it up with more color, so I coated just one half of each nail (lengthwise) with Cirque's Bitten Jelly, and with Eros Jelly (alternating purple pink purple pink on each finger, so half the nail still showed the silvery side, while the other half had the sandwich effect of whichever color). While doing this, creating a straight line down the center of the nail and then filling in the one side with color, I realized that filling in this narrow space was actually made much easier with the skinny brush that Bitten and Eros came with. I have some of Cirque's more recently released jellies too, and I appreciate the paddle brush they now come with, especially when just coating the whole nail and doing a basic manicure. But-when trying to paint just part of a fingernail, whether doing a half-nail look, like I did last week, or doing a lazy gradient, or a watercolor or marbled look-doesn't the skinny brush create a little more ease of use? The tip is more focused and precise, and the length of the bristles has a little more give, allowing for a kind of sweeping motion, if that is desired. What's your experience with this? You have way more experience playing around with jellies than I do, so I'm curious. When you want to do an arty look with jelly polishes that have a paddle brush, do you encounter any difficulty that you wouldn't have with a skinny brush? Do you have to hold it differently, or load it differently? The one experience I have with this earlier this year was doing a lazy gradient with Aqua and Blurple (both of mine have paddle brushes) and I struggled a bit with flooding, and trying not to overlap them too far because the width of the brush was a bit much for what I was trying to accomplish. I'd say that my nails are not super tiny, pretty average size, so that's not an issue. Anyway, sorry for so much detail, but I'm genuinely curious about your opinion and experience with this. For the most part, for any nail polish in the world, paddle brushes are better-more control, more coverage, more even results. But when trying to get arty, maybe the skinny brushes make more sense? And jellies naturally lend themselves to arty looks...? Thanks for sharing this video, Coquette is such a pretty topper with those purples 💜
@PolishedYogi
@PolishedYogi 2 дня назад
I definitely see your point with that! I do think skinny brushes can be useful in those circumstances, I think the problem with cirques though is not even ALL of their skinny brushes are the same 😅 some of mine have been super wonky, like they almost flare out?? So I’ve definitely had difficulty with their skinny brushes too. I find the paddle brushes still easy if I’m doing lazy jelly gradients for example. But if I’m trying to fill in a small area I think yeah I generally try to load a little less than usual, and if anything would rotate the brush to sort of paint with the thin side of that makes sense? I think more often than not I would just reach for one of my fine detail brushes though, it’s easier for me to get control with that and that’s definitely the ultimate skinny brush 🤣 I hope that answers your questions though!
@tabularasa
@tabularasa 2 дня назад
@@PolishedYogi Thank you for the response, it's appreciated! 💅 And that's interesting that the brushes can vary so much. I have maybe around 20 Cirque bottles at this point, and out of the ones with skinny brushes, I think they're all pretty much the same. But that's why I ask you, I know you have tons of experience with them 😊 I'm probably more appreciative of the art utility of these skinny brushes because I don't have a steady hand, therefore I'm incapable of fine detail manicures, and I don't own any other thin art brushes. So when I discovered jellies and the ability to blend colors directly on the nail, I got into it. I will keep trying the paddle brush methods you suggested, rotating to the thin side, being mindful of how much paint is loaded on the brush. It's all a learning process, one I enjoy a lot. Thanks!!

Oh you know what, you could swap the caps/brushes of your new bottles with your old ones. And then you're done with your old bottles, put those caps/brushes back on your new bottles. Edit:. And what? Cirque is still using skinny brushes? I thought they had phased them out.

Why can’t they just switch all the brushes to the wider ones at this point??? I wish they would just send you the wide brush replacements already! 😆 You prob have so many to switch out! I usually get brushes when they have a sale. I think these sets are cute. But I’m not gonna lie…I wish we had something new! 🥰 But you are so right…it is nice to shop your own stash. Also…I think if you are buying a set you should automatically get one of the little gift boxes.
@PolishedYogi
@PolishedYogi День назад
i knowww right! its giving stingy lol 😬 and ugh yeah i would need like 10 replacement packs at least, for my jellies alone! 🤣 thats definitely smart to grab them during a sale, maybe i’ll do that for BF bc the skinny brushes on my jellies really bug me 🥲 and hahah i know, it definitely is always fun to like see what new thing is released, but i feel like i’ve been getting so tired of all the back to back releases you know! i feel like the best would be if they let you build your own sort of bundle, though i imagine on the back end that must be a nightmare lol. but yes! the gift box def should’ve been included.. but at least its nicer than the gift wrap options from like amazon where its an extra $5 or something lol so it also could be worse 😝

Yeah I sort of just don’t feel like cirque care about their customers. It feels like they cheap out on stuff like the brush- (to my understanding) most people prefer the wide brush and to have some of these have it and some not seems really lazy. That plus the egregious swatch editing, absurd price per milliliter, and gimmicky marketing with stuff like coronation, cirque just really isn’t a company I want to give my money to anymore.
@PolishedYogi
@PolishedYogi День назад
yeah I can’t help but assume they decided to pair some older polishes in these sets in hopes to sell those shades that had skinny brushes, instead of just swapping them out 🫣 they seen so stingy lol like why reserve the wide brushes for just your best sellers?? but yeah i know they’ve completely lost a lot of their fans/customers with those decisions 😖
