As a fellow brit it’s actually genuinely refreshing and interesting seeing Bald giving the UK the bald and bankrupt treatment. Love him pointing out the little quirky things that people who have never been there before might not know about.

As a trucker who has been so many times in Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island, these English towns remind me of those places in the United States.

Since coming across your videos, I can't stop watching. You are a genuine person, respectful, easy to make friends, and a good human being.

It's amazing how after dozens of videos around the world, the UK really is just like any other Russian provincial town, but more expensive.

The same weather and spirit like in Northern Germany or many parts of Eastern Germany. That's what I like about England, it's true to the bone. Really authentic.

I lived in the UK between 1974 and 1978 in Plymouth. Your videos show a very differrent UK from those days. Now run down, gloomy, and depressing, not the UK I remember. Sad really.

Bald is such a brilliant person to learn from when it comes to interacting with strangers. 90% of what he does is just ask people questions and act interested in their responses. People love to be listened to.

I’m British, working class, northern and even for me the last place, Jaywick, was pretty shocking for me to see; a place so bleak, devoid and derelict within proximity of the capital. London council uprooting, moving and shafting people. Class content as always Bald, shedding light on people who don’t often have a stage or voice.

The exact street featured is on the national news today. A sad event.

Hello Bald I'm a big fan and a local resident of Clacton-on-Sea here, thanks for visiting our town ( even though it didn't have much to offer) moreover you gave quite a nicer image to the town and its people than most other sources even with the language barrier.

Timmy has to be the best addition to the channel, he’s a legend. Been binge watching his videos too, they’re so entertaining!

In 1996 when I was 16 years old, my grandparents took me from California to their homeland of England (east Anglo). We visited Clackton along with a ton of other random places, including Great Yarmoth, all by car. We also visited Blackpool and other seaside towns as far north as Oban in Scotland. Glad to see the place several decades later from the eyes of one of my favorite guides.

There is many a fat farmer that drinks less cheerfully, There is many a free French peasant who is richer and sadder than we. There are no folk in the whole world so helpless or so wise. There is hunger in our bellies, there is laughter in our eyes; You laugh at us and love us, both mugs and eyes are wet: Only you do not know us. For we have not spoken yet.

The banter on this video is so loose, refreshing and friendly. Just reminds me of how uptight and serious I am myself and that I need to relax more often, but the stress of bills and work drag me down.

The problem with a lot of sea side towns in the UK is cheap holidays abroad, most were incredibly busy thriving places once. However the dawn of cheap flights abroad that were readily available and affordable to many people meant people moved away from the British seaside. Less money coming in inevitably led to a downturn for many of these places.

The way Bald is always able to communicate with the locals is amazing.

This has some potential. People have been crazy about seeing the real Russia, or conditions in very poor countries, but I haven't seen anyone make content about poor rural places in western countries.

For that amount of money I was expecting the hotel to be a complete shithole. That room seemed very well looked after and clean.

Honestly... this shows us brits off nicely. Sure we're awkward, self deprecating and unable to show any emotion, but most of us will do our best to treat anyone with respect and kindness, no matter where we live or who you are. Hopefully one day you'll pay us northerners a proper visit, but it's always lovely to see how kind, accepting and fun our southern counterparts are.

1:52 I never really got "Dickensian" celebrations - the books always seemed to me to be about abject misery, cruelty, and extreme self-interest. Seems like an odd thing to celebrate unless you're living a care-free, idle life paid for private taxation of tenants, while people are wasting away in sub-standard homes, barely able to feed themselves, with no prospects of working their way out of it. Expat from Denton, Manchester here, currently in living in Canada…you brought a tear to my eye. England will always be my home as my children are the first generation of my family line to make homes in the ‘new’ world. Once you leave, you can never go back, but you never quite fit in where you settle either. Travelling is great and will expand your view of humanity, but a sense of home and of belonging to a place can’t be overstated. Think long and hard before you abandon your home, think about staying and working hard to make it better…cheers and Happy Christmas.

I think after the mini-series covering the Venezuela-USA migration trail, it's only the natural progression to do a sequel covering the Albania-UK migration trail. Imagine the banter as you wash up on Brighton Beach in a dinghy with 30 other blokes and bump into people you know having a cone of chips on the pier.

I thought you were up near Blackpool at first. Cool to see what the other side of the Channel from Belgium looks like. I often look out at sea, in this direction, wondering what's there and dreaming of one day journeying to the UK to see for myself. Now I have a pretty nice idea! Lovely chaps. Pretty exotic but also looks just like the French Opal Coast. Weird to think this city is as far removed from me in Ostend as my hometown of Leuven, only on the other side.

There is real poverty in this country and this video shines a light on it perfectly - the stoicism, sense of community and friendliness of the people you guys met made me proud to be from these isles. Great content - Captivating and Engaging. 3 bits of new info: The Torbay area of Devon (Paignton, Torquay and Brixham), which is equally as deprived in parts is I believe, officially known as The English Riviera - which I think is because of the palm-style and Mediterranean trees and rocky crags that line the coast. Piers were originally built for the paddle-steamers which came down from London, they were a form of landing port or jetty. Finally, and boringly, if you look out from Clacton, you will see firstly the North Coast of Kent from the Isle of Sheppey eastwards to Margate. Then overseas, possibly a five mile stretch of France, from Dunkirk up to the border of Belgium and then entirety of Belgium. I do think your content has become better in the last three years....excellent
