@@MoMotivation0304 Try Timeless if you don’t have sensitive skin and start with the 10% not the 20%. It’s one of the best (if not the best) from the affordable ones. It is l-ascorbic vitamin C, which is the purest active form of vitamin c, so if you have sensitive skin you might want to go with a vitamin C derivative. Goodal Vit-c serum and Skin&lab Vitamin c brightening serum are good alternatives for sensitive skin. The key to fading those spots is patience. It takes time and consistency to see the results. Also, use sunscreen and reapply every two hours if you are outside, more if you sweat.

I had a pico laser treatment in Thailand and it's the only thing that has worked for me. It didn't get rid of the sun spots, but it lightened them enough that they are easier to hide with make up. Will get a couple more treatments when I'm back there in a few months. It costs five times as much in Canada!

the best thing i ever did was starting to use sunscreen every single day + actually taking precautions from the sun with UV blocking long sleeved clothes or just staying out of the sun in peak hours. those + alpha arbutin (in a niacin toner by good molecules) + tranexemic acid (discoloration serum by good mol.) are preventing AND fixing prior hyperpigmentation. kojic acid is also fantastic but you have to be consistent

I use his products and I noticed by using a razor to remove the peach fuzz from my face so my makeup sits on the skin and not on my peach fuzz, my age spots have faded because like the dr said, removing the upper layer of skin helps the age spot removing agent work by getting to the spot easier.

If you’re asian with olive skin stay away from IPL. My sister and I had great results with our first couple of treatments. Basically your dark spots get crispy and fall off like scabs but return after a few months. After our third treatments (they increase the intensity of your treatments), we noticed patches of dark spots appearing where there were none before. It’s been a couple of years and the new dark spots (patches) caused by IPL are still there. Surprisingly my original dark spots have faded, almost disappearing completely. I’ve been using various brightening serums but the key was adding a glycolic peel mask to my weekly routine.

Thank you for sharing your expertise with us. I had hyperpigmentation show up really suddenly after starting a new antidepressant. I tried just about everything that I could find over the counter and the results were pretty limited. I was pleasantly surprised when I was finally able to get botox for chronic migraine and within a week the hyperpigmentation was basically gone (or at least like 90% gone). Definitely doesn't qualify as holistic, but I'm really happy with the resulting decrease in headaches and dark spots.

ASIANS- Be cautious and research if you’re thinking of getting IPL treatments I was happy with my first 2 treatments but then after my 3rd treatment some new spots showed up and some spots that were already there got darker. Maybe if I continued having treatments the spots might have eventually gotten lighter but that would take time and a lot of money. So I was left with my skin looking worse than before I had the IPLs! Fraxel laser treatment is another treatment I would pass on. Generally speaking Asians and other darker skinned people are more at risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation after laser treatments. I wish I knew this before my treatments

I started using lanolin (nipple cream) and my dark eye circles were reduced by 90% within 5 days. I am able to go make up free now. I used ALL of the hyperpigmentation treatments with no noticeable improvement. Lasers, hydroquinone, niacinimide, glycolic acid (laroche's - this seemed to do a little something), vitamin c, retinoid, and multiple eye creams. I was on a 6 month struggle bus trying to treat this. I ordered nipple cream for lips and decided to see if putting it on my dark eye circles and hyperpigmented smile lines would work. I woke up the next morning and had a 60% reduction. By the end of the week, I had a 90% reduction in the dark eye circles. The dark smile line is completely gone on 1 side of my face. I've had dark eye circles my entire life. I have baby pictures with dark eye circles!!! 😂😂😂 I have no idea why the nipple cream worked but praise be! Instant success.

I’m 56 next month. I have melasma everywhere on my face and I am pacific island but have fair skin but now looks patchy and it’s annoying. No foundation can hide it. They say it’s hereditary but this is untrue. My mum and sister don’t have any malasma, not even the tiniest spot! I’m so desperate to get rid of it.

Are you on the pill? If yes that maybe your culprit. My mother has it bad on her face until she went to a Holistic doctor. She changed her diet. One thing I do remember is that she was taking a lot of greens and supplements and Water. She now has absolutely no melasma whatsoever. It was so bad she had like 2 texas states on each cheek!!!😂 Now she covers her face religiously and uses sunscreen and moisturizes Day and night. Hope this helps you!

I had a small patch of hyperpigmentation (still have it) under my left eye, extending horizontally towards the bridge of my nose. Coincidentally, I have macular degeneration in that eye and have major sinus problems, especially in my left sinus cavity. One day I got so tired of the sinus problems that I was determined to kill whatever was up there. First I tried hydrogen peroxide. I took a 5ml syringe, leaned over, and plunged it up there. It burned, and I got really stuffy. So my doctor gave me doxycycline, notably, an antibiotic that cautions one to avoid sun exposure. I eventually got blocked on that side again. So then I decided to use povidone iodine, diatomaceous earth, and fenbendazole. Did the same thing, leaned over, moved my head side to side and backwards, held it there, hummed really hard, pounded my forehead. I got so much stuff out of there. A lot of yellow mucous, even some that had green fuzzy stuff on it. I did this several times a day for 6 days. The miracle was that I could, not only breathe again, but I was able to sing again after a botched vocal cord removal surgery. (They had hemorrhaged the good cord putting the breathing tube in.) All of what I was doing BURNED, like really BURNED. . The povidone iodine stained my teeth, too. Not long after, wintertime, I noticed what I wasn't sure was more hyperpigmentation or shadowing on my left cheek further down. I looked in the car mirror in daylight and noticed that it was MORE pigmentation. Eventually, from repeating this ritual periodically, I developed pigmentation all over my sinus cavities, both sides. The area under my left eye, where I get really blocked was darkest, but there was hyperpigmentation even above my brows. I can literally trace my sinus cavities now by following the hyperpigmentation. I saw an ENT, and she blew it off. I honestly believe there is something, some microbe in my sinuses, that is behind the spread of this hyperpigmentation. I wish I could post a picture. My ritual still helps, but not as much. Any thoughts? I noticed my neighbor has a huge area of hyperpigmentation on her left cheek, and I'm willing to bet she has really bad sinus issues on that side. Again, thoughts? One more observation is that the psoriasis near my buttocks/thighs went away on the doxy, and doxy is used for both sinus infections and IBD, which I also have.

I had to go to the dermatologist to have series of chemical peels to lighten the spots and other damage to my skin. Last year @ 59 I had skin cancer, regardless at what age the damage will come to the surface. I use sun screen everyday wait 5 to 10 minutes put on moisturizer then daily treatments. Sunscreen 1st no matter before going outside. If I could turn the clock I would take my parents advice, too late now. How to look younger stay out of the direct sun.❤️😊
