Amen! I’m just south of you guys by an hour (Floyds Knobs, Indiana) and never knew that such a GEM was hiding in our hills/hollers. Powerful, emotional, and cathartic. There isn't a more interesting songwriter out there right now--with every release I am genuinely compelled to absorb each composition. It's been a long time since I felt like a track wasn't "disposable" and needed to be listened to multiple times. I can't "wear out" your work.

That's intense... wow. This shows ugly but REAL facts. I feel so sorry for the kid, he's ignored & neglected by his mom/ parents. I can't even comprehend a church that would ignore or even kick out a person in need, let alone a child who clearly needs help. The acting here is fantastic & the song is amazing.

Had never heard of Stephen until I went to a concert at the Ryman in Nashville and he’s a very powerful songwriter and performer. So moving. So real. I ended up shaking his hand in the back alley as he was departing. Thanking him for touching my soul. His videos are great but by God you need to see and really hear this young man live. I will go again and we shall meet again…..

I've recently come across Stephen's music. First through ´Year to be Young 1994´, then it was 'Grief is only Love', and then the new album, and yesterday, 'Holler from the Holler'. By far, this was the most disturbed I've been by a music video in my whole life. Exceptional songwriting and storytelling, and man, what a video! This is a masterpiece. The algorithm brought me here, but I'm staying for the music. Thank you, Stephen!

It wasn't an offense warning. It was a trigger warning for people who might find it traumatic to see scenes of domestic violence and a teenager bashing his abusive father's head in with a rock and is covered in his blood. I get what you are trying to say, but the situations are completely different.

Thankful I didn't have to experience any of this on a personal level. Nor did the kids of the few neighbors we had. Pretty sure some at school went through it though. When my Mom was old she told me my Father never laid an angry hand on her.
