I prefer Fos Scale models because they're usually smaller than some other kits I have, which I like, so I can condense more scenery into my 11X23 layout. Good channel. You do good work on your kits.

G'Day ole Mate, These kits are not available down here in Aus. and postage from the U.S. can near double the cost. So I use your videos as a guide and scratch build using balsa sheet. Simply scribe it to resemble clapboard and one is in business. Keep them coming, love your work. Tezza.

I've been watching a lot of Jason Jensen's videos of late (similar techniques and content to yours) and your videos started popping in my RU-vid suggestions... I experimented a little with the techniques and found that I didn't like the effect of sponging full strength acrylics on the plastic window and door castings. It's too much paint and as you suggest, it mostly hits the highest raised areas. I found that if I took my most beat up nylon bristled acrylic paint brush (cheap artist's brush set), I could stipple on slightly thinned acrylics with a much better effect. Give it a shot if you want to experiment. Like your take on similar techniques, will be watching a bunch more of your videos and have subscribed to your channel.

Thanks for the comments. I think I learned the sponge thing from Jason Jensen actually, and maybe a few others. I don't remember exactly. Try experimenting with different sponges and you have to stop if the sponge gets too saturated with, but if a brush works for you then go for it. I have used brushes in some cases where there is a lot of surface relief.

Like the build. I do think it is strange that FOS Scale recommends a India ink wash after bracing. Even though the walls are braced I thought this may lead to some warpage. In stead of styrene to mount the paper signs what would it be like to use card stock and even print directly onto a light card stock from your printer

At 22.06 you mention touching up the edges of the tar paper roofing, how did you go about that?

I think I just painted on some black paint to cover the color of the cardboard. But I think I was talking about the edges of each piece of corrugated metal, which I just painted over with some rust color. Thanks for watching one of my old videos!

I don’t understand the scale size? Is it bigger than 1:64 scale size

It is HO scale, which is 1/87, so smaller

$80 I think? You would have to check their web site.
