Amen man; I want to recreate our brand to this. This video is exact perfect time for our store & brand - not like breathing fear walking in, not woke, but calm & cool diverse cool & high-end totally kills mental health issues. This is the exact atmosphere product & persona I want our brand to have again. I also miss working during these days - I love everything about this video year & time. Thank you - have a really nice day.
Same. I didn't make any money, but I was so happy. Worked there for 7 years before finally becoming a nurse. Now I make money and I hate everything. I loved going to work at hollister because everyone was friends. None of us fought. Just friends working together and not worrying about anything.
@@GirlNextMeow I'm right there with you my friend. I think we would've gotten along very well - I'm a lawyer now and every day is harder to get through than the day before. Watching these videos from happier times legit can bring me to tears at this point. We just don't know what we have until it's gone
This was my first real job from 2004 to 2008, and man, I'll tell you, it's sad to think, but I had some of the best times of my life there or from meeting people there.
I met my wife at Hollister in Dec 2004. She was working there and tried to recruit me to work there. I ended up working at A&F instead, but we got married in july 2006, still going strong. Really miss those carefree days.
Mannnn this used to be the store all the kids and teens spent money at. And its seems like its more expensive now than what it was in the early 2000s. Its never really been cheap but I was somehow able to afford it back then. I miss THIS Hollister. Don't recognize the new store.
The managers there remind of a coworker model too who was a manager as taught me everything I knew about shipment and so much more. He was awesome. Really want to recreate our brand Hollister back to this as we have lost everything Iconic about it. The whole atmosphere during 2012 & ‘13 much more like not intimidating like ‘09 & ‘10, much more diverse and just calm cool, my & many others favorite time of the/our brand. Lighting not too dim that customers couldn’t see anything, but very great for atmosphere etc… This store particularly is everything I want our store to be/be like as the people fit the store & company perfectly - no intimidation fear, not woke, but calm cool passively confident, fashionable maybe not like fashion designers or whatever mainstream (everything exactly like me - style likewise). Only thing I would add is entrance pic poster with shirtless muscular toned real model as usual. This is the exact perfect of what every store should be like & do (I watch this video to remember those days & for my personality and mental health issues). Great store & great job with the video. Have a nice day, -Curt
reminds me of all the cool kids back then who would wear expensive stuff like this. I got bullied for wearing cheap clothes. It’s funny now but rly hurt back then😂
Man i got teased for wearing hollister in middle school by inner city kids. Granted i lived in the suburbs so it was a normal thing to me.... Like wtf this is a $40 shirt what are you saying 😅 look at God I'm soon to become a sm of a Hollister store in next few weeks. 💪
Hollister Co. was founded in July 27, 2000 by Abercrombie & Fitch in Hollister California. It was later moved to New York City and it started to rapidly increase in popularity and economy.
Hollister was great in the mid 2000s until now a generation there turning into some kind of hypebeast skater boy type shit !!!!! Definitely not preppy like it used to be that’s why I stopped shopping there . Also the vintage tshirts of Hollister in the mid 2000s had the whole rainbow of colors on the men’s tees . Today all they have is there classic solid colors . There is no hot pink , or lake water blue or starburst yellow tees like they used to have . They don’t even have orange tees anymore wtf !!!!!
Omg this is exactly why I changed to Abercrombie! Unfortunately they just permanently closed the flagship store in Dusseldorf:/ I hope they open a smaller one, but please not these prototype stores they look like H&M
Hollister was never really preppy vibes though, it was more Southern California Laguna Beach/Santa Monica surfer vibes so it was supposed to resemble a beach shack. Abercrombie was more preppy at least in the classic east coast/Ivy League aspect anyway. In regards to the more muted color scheme is because trends nowadays are more minimalistic then in the late 2000s where it was more about brighter colors.
@@hadihatab3126 Good points, agreed - before, The Color Black was a big no no, just really dark navy blue & darker grey which made us Extremely Iconic (whole website great example and Bruce Weber Very High-End Photographer works with Versace & Ralph Lauren too). Yes, I liked Hollister better as mostly worked there - as more WC based; A&F All-American Kids Ivy League East Coast as Home Office in Columbus Ohio. Imho, Brands need a lot of work right now as very mainstream like Whole Store Outline (lighting, look, builds - now like the others and now +-sized-models vs. 6-pack ripped Irl Brand models before (The Old A&F is A Lifestyle Brand - a lifestyle for The Brand to be with The Brand like only healthy foods lifting/exercising every morning as 1 1/2 minute Home Office video like 15 years ago on here showing exactly what I mean), Very High-End Artwork). For what it is worth, wanted to be an MIT ASM (lower level one - like Visual Merchandising Manager or even Stockroom Manager wherever they needed me as Really Love The Brand) like my Dream Job, but yeah here this video 2012-'13 and now (Very Cool/Classic Cool Iconic Management Structure vs. Key Holders 1 ASM very mainstream ie like all other brands). For what I wear/my style like coworkers & managers back-in-the-day, we do not change Our Style as literally only wear that still today as Brand needs a lot of work right now as need this clothing back (Ruehl just all within Hollister same as Hollister for all ages with online shopping today, original style/make of The Clothing ie higher-quality materials not fast-fashion more woke hipster etc...). Black was The Forbidden Color, I loved very dark navy blue jeans.
I remember reluctantly going in there as my my mom took my sister shopping. My brother and I always had a difficult time trying to find somewhere to sit! I did have my own fair share of Holister clothes, and I do kinda miss those days. 2006-2012
I had the red sweatpants with Hollister on the leg, my son is 14 and found them in my closet and called them vintage all because I said I bought those in 2007😂
The real reason was the same reason bars and clubs don't turn on tons of lights - everyone looks better when it's darker (I was a manager at Abercrombie/Hollister). When every light is blazing on me (and everyone), all flaws are visible. We pointed lights at the clothes only so that the customers would look as good as possible in the mirror, including in the fitting rooms. I personally miss this, as now it's insanely bright in Abercrombie/Hollister and I look like shit in the mirror comparatively 😂
@@rainerarier2446 Incorrect (although true about the quality). It's so YOU don't look bad, the same reason bars and clubs keep the lights down low. People look better without spotlights blazing on them, and darker light hides flaws better. If you look better when trying on clothing, you're more likely to buy it
