The acids skips and watching Fire absolutely wail on the watcher knights never ceases to amaze me. Thanks for all the god gamer content and inspiration to always try to be a little bit better than I was my last playthrough.
Hollow Knight Speedrunner here, doing commentary and reading twitch chat is actually a lot less stressful than running offline for many of us, because it helps many of us kind of zone out during early game and not reset too much to small mistakes. Fire is also a top 5 runner, if he played better on offline, he would play on offline. So yeah, fire would actually probably be equally good or even slightly less god gamer on offline runs than on live runs. Although this is just a guess. :)
The progress is astounding! How I wish I could run this game like this one day. Practicing the run is quite the challenge for sure. Congrats on the PB fire
Oh, it's easy to be a bad speedrunner. But I dont know how they're god enough to make world records either. And I put fire in that category as well, even though he isn't making records anymore. Yet.

Hey fire, you should make a 'Speedrunning Basics' video for people looking to get into speedrunning. Just a tutorial on how to do some of the major skips that most speed runners do
Would definitely appreciate something like this since Fire's one of my favorite HK content creators and I just recently got the last bit of achievements I could get on my first playthrough so I could use some of the skips when going for the speedrunning achievements.
Thanks Fireborn, your speedrun vs hunters videos inspired me to play hk on current patch and try to speedrun it as soon as I completed the game 100%+. My 1st speedrun took around almost 5h, the 2nd took 2h 40, and the last one took 1h 30 hoping to improve and become more efficient in speedrunning. Fireball skips are hard and epogo 😂
This run brings it to the point where I must say we need a Speedrun III Achievement, because 5 hours is truly nothing compared to the runs people like you can perform now
as someone who is still on their first playthrough and just now after 3 months of owning the game JUST beat Lurien to finally unlock the Hollow Kight bossifght, There were points here where I was literally mouth agape with how fast he got from Greenpath to killing Lurien already literally minutes later. This is why I love this community.

Damn, I don’t speedrun, but I can appreciate the skill that goes into shaving off over 20 seconds by the time you defeat Uumuu. That’s impressive as hell, given how fast the previous best was.
Uumuu is the worst boss in hollow knight for speedrunning for anyone who doesnt know, a good uumuu cycle can save you quite literally 30 seconds over a bad uumuu cycle. its mostly RNG and makes uumuu a disaster for speedruns sometimes

17:17 I tried so many times to get that pogo successfully and never managed it. So I went and grabbed double jump and decided to try it one more time, and of course that was the time that I managed to do it correctly.
Wow. My only comment is the true awesome calmness Fireb0rn shows during this run. I cannot BELIEVE the speed this man is demonstrating. But, I really could go on and on and on about the run’s amazingness. As a Hollow Knight console speed runner, I say, Good job Fireb0rn!
Wow, very impressive ! Can someone please explain me what trick is used to jump in mid-air after the uumuu fight ? At 28:36 it seems like he's going to drop in the acid after the second dash but he is somehow able to wall jump in the air just before touching the acid, how does this work ?
Very new to the Hollow Knight community and surprised to find that Fire plays HK in Chinese. Is it a must/better choice to do a speedrun in Chinese? (just out of curiosity)

Something I've always wondered: isn't it faster to use the bench close to Uumuu instead of having to go all the way up there after getting the Monomon dreamer?
I have a question, there is any reason why you dont bench on king station do the watch knights get money to lantern and save skip to king station bench? So you can skip at least that?
At around the 5 min marker Would it be too slow to lure some of the flying bugs to the bulder bug, so you can spam three times then attack the bugs and fire again..just thinking out loud.
it's called wallcling storage. I don't remember all the specifics because it has been a time, but in specific cases, when you fall off a wall you are clinging to, the game doesn't realize that you are no longer on the wall, which means you can still do a wall jump. The ruleset specifically states that wallcling storage glitches are only banned if they are used to reach a spot that you cannot reach without wallcling storage (or any other major glitch). And as the player has crystal dash at this point, the path, that fireborn takes here, would be possible to take without the wallcling storage, so it is allowed.
in hete im here for some insight i just remembered theres a hollow knight sppeedrun player from celeste from a phanteon run? i heard he's good in the celeste speedrun and did cool stuff but i cant remmeber the name
A video idea this is something i would like to see you do even tho there is a huge chance ur not gonna see this but basically you and someone else preferably not a speed Runner go through hollownest and fight ALL the bosses get the abilities this does not have to be a speedrun but you unlock godhome to complete p5 with the both of you one dies the pantheon run resets and the goal is to complete p5
