The text given during the abyss climb for void heart perfectly fits what you feel after PoP. No mind to think. No will to break. No voice to cry suffering. (Cause you'll lose it after 5 hours of cursing at the game). Just add no controller to use (cause it'll be broken) and yeah.

All of hollow knights music is either sinister or emotional. It just really adds to the story line of the game that all of the music was composed like that.

I love the music... but I can't listen to it without a few of my fingers twitching on reflex... I think I might literally have an unconscious reaction to Path of Pain. Bloody hell.

I beat the path surprisingly quickly, even then, this track still makes me feel like I have to pay attention to everything happening. Also i’m sad that it’s a once-per-file thing, so i’m upsetti.

It's just so... heart touching in a way. You can feel the emotions in this track. POP didn't take me that long but the OST man, it's the greatest thing I've heard

Honestly, i don't know how they did it, but to me this music is perfect. Obviously we all had to listen to it for hours and hours, but surprisingly it never got old, or annoying. It fits the challenge so well, in a weird way, makes you feel nostalgic for something you've never experienced

I don't know who said this song helped them do their essay, but thank you so much. Had an essay due tomorrow and basically nothing typed out, remembered that one comment, listened all the way through it, and by the time it was done, I realized I was literally less than a sentence away from finishing my essay. Actually divine-tier song for cranking out work last minute.

Under the Troupe Master video (you know the one with the grimm and the NKG theme), someone said that they beat PoP as a break when trying to beat NKG. Well, it was the exact opposite for me. This place was hell

Here's a better PoP OST; The sawblade sound effect for one hour and nothing else. Oh, and the sound of scream crying.

Man PoP was one of the most excruciatingly hard challenges for me in any video game and it admittedly frustrated me greatly, but it was honestly a really fun challenge and I'm glad it is how it is and I really wish I could play it again in the same save file. Just being there in game gives off a vibe I can't feel anywhere else.

I was at my grandma's house with my mom and i was thinking about this particular OST, then we left and she asked be about my grades, i had to tell her because she would use this app that the teachers had used where the parents could see their children's grades, so i had no other choice, i told her and she scolded me all the way home and i had this playing in my head, it was epic, yet sad, one of the most memorable moments in my life.

*minor spoiler alert* I really wanted to give a shot to Path of Pain when I first heard of it as a Celeste speedrunner. Though it was difficult a little, specifically in the last room of course, to me it was a lot more managable than what people made me think. It's still a nice challenge and I had quite the fun in the 10-15 minutes it took me to get to the last room and another unlucky 15 minutes in the last room itself. This music though... The first time I heard when I tried to beat The Hollow Knight, I fell in love with this part. The emotions it made me feel in the fight were unexplainable. Watching him stab himself with this music in the background just showed what pain he had. That's why I think this part is exactly the reason the part and the name comes from. It's not about the player. It's about The Pale King, and The Hollow Knight, and the pain they felt losing each other. I believe Path of Pain is exactly what it says it is. A path that leads to painful memories. And painful sacrifices. That's why it's secured so much. They are memories that The Pale King didn't want exposed. The only way to see the painful memories is to go through the pain.

The pain in this is equivalent to the Silksong wait.

I can remember days, where i was scared of that music. It always ment frustration and anger for me. Now I like to hear it sometimes when i have problems in games and to think back on what i have achieved.

I tried for 8 hours and the game crashed and the next day I tried for 10 hours and it deserves its name.

It took me an hour and a half to get to the end. I didn't knew about those 2... I died and still need to try again. And now when I hear this, I can't think of anything else than hope and fear. It's also hurting my heart like literally 😂 (not enough to bring me down)
