I just realized the pure vessel doesn’t scream at the beginning of the fight because it doesn’t have a voice to cry suffering.

No cost too great... -The pure Vessel sacrifices himself to try stop the knight from getting to the raidiance. No mind to think... -PV has no dialogue when dreamnailed. No will to break... -In opposition to the Sealed Vessel the PV does not get weaker with time and does not try to kill itself. No voice to cry out suffering... -The 'scream' and the beginning was completly silent.

i love the fact that the hollow knight, when he "roars" to start the fight, doesn't actually roar. it's the little details.

Now do it without wayward compass

Its cool that pure vessel actually has it's own kind of focus like the knight

This fight tells us how powerful the hollow knight was in his prime. You see that the infection actually made him weaker despite still being so powerful. He was a great knight and he did his best as a leader.

I started hearing everyone calling the hollow knight by pure vessel, then I thought to myself, did they add a fight with him without the infection!!? I immediately searched up, saw the video title and after I finished it, my god this is one of the most things I wanted to see in Hollow Knight whole world, the hollow knight grown up and before he got infected, not just that but you get to fight him too! Really one of my favourite boss fights of God master

I really love the idea of the Pure Vessel. It’s the Hollow Knight in his prime, right? It’s everything a Vessel should be, and more. It has no mind, emotion, or voice, yes. But it’s also an indomitable warrior, with pristine control over both Void and Soul-it’s able to use its body like tenebrous whips, and its soul like flashbombs and steel spires. Very cool, very cool indeed.

That jump at 1:25 had me recoiling from fear. Collision damage is public enemy #1. Also that one time he almost landed on you after being staggered

One of my favourite animations in this game is when you stun pure vessel mid jump. Seeing is giant crouched body fly across the screen is a joy like no other.

You should of used thorns of agony for when you take damage And gathering swarm for all the geo And spore shroom for when you heal And hive blood so you can heal better And all the lifeblood/unbreakable heart charms for extra health And quick/deep focus for better healing And balder shell so you can heal safely And fury of the fallen for when you get to 1 health.

This honestly helped me out with the fight. Too many times I would dash towards him when he was throwing knives and would try to heal during his focus attack. Glad you could help retrain my brain

No one talks how the music builds the atmosphere of true mastered ultra instinct.

Parrying the pure vessel twice in a row within the first thirty seconds of the fight is such a power move.

Got the boss on Radiant! Whew! Setup was: Quick Slash, Unbreakable Strength, Shaman Stone, Mark of Pride. Your advice was very helpful! I also started doing better once I just double-jumped over the triple swipe before pogoing, and when I stopped rushing the boss after the third stagger (when they start using tentacles). I pogoed the boss once during the tentacle attack, but for the other two times it went out I just dashed to the far side of the arena. Thank you for the help!

Finally beat him in the pantheon last night. Very satisfied and a thoroughly enjoyable battle once you know the attacks 😃

What gets me is in the world where Radiance wasn’t returning and causing the plague, the Pale King and White Lady’s kids could all survive, and they’d prolly all be able to grow into these relatively big and powerful bugs that are the offspring of two Higher Beings. And with the White Lady’s ability to lay/spawn so many eggs/seeds, they’d have a massive army of spawn prolly in the same numbers as the Vessels stuck in the Abyss. At that point, I wonder if Hollownest would even be able to support the entire royal family if they were all allowed to grow and survive (it’s possible the King and Queen might have controlled the number of offspring they have at a time but with the Queen basically always baby-crazy I wonder if PK could stop her lol).

I just beat Radiant Pure Vessel, in my opinion spells make the fight harder to complete, they stun you while using them so it makes it harder to maneuver. Just wanna say good job this fight is really hard.

I mean I can technically say I've only ever beat this guy nail only If you imagine sharpshadowing through him as holding your nail forward Sharp Shadow has carried me through so many late game bosses

somehow 3 mantis lords screaming at once isn't powerful enough to stun you but this vessels soundless scream can. anyways, i could prob never do this, this looks amazing

As someone who has died three times fighting Elder Hu, I can say I solidly respect the hell out of this gameplay.

Thank you, I was having such a hard time with the blades coming up from the ground, and this showed me a better way to deal with that move.

I love how similar this looks to when i fight him, the back jumps to dodge his leap, shadow dash the swords, parry/pogo his swing and pogo during the tendrils. Died so many times trying to figure it out, but to end up with almost the same movement as hitless made my day.

I always saw it as the PV was supposed to be the one to seal the radiance forever due to his numbness and purity. He supposedly doesn’t think, feel, or hope according to several dialogues so the radiance cannot manipulate him. The radiance infects dreams and emotions. However, as we see in the path of pain it seems the PV (the hollow knight) did develop feelings for his father-figure the pale king and therefore when he became the vessel the radiance was able to manipulate him and take advantage of him, which takes form as the infection and the infected sealed vessel. The PV was not pure in the end, he had feelings and was not a hollow knight. In this boss fight he is in the from he was supposed to be, pure and unfeeling. Rather than have mercy for the knight and attempt to kill himself, the vessel in this fight attempts to truly kill the knight to protect his duty of sealing the radiance as that is all he cares for or knows.

I appreciate the Radiant Difficulty and the mention of no damage even though you have to take no damage on Radiant Difficulty because it's 1 hit kill difficulty.

The first time I saw my brother fight this boss in the pantheon of hallownest I tried to talk to him (we had been chatting on and off while he was playing) and he reached back and shushed me. I understood why when watching him play. The tone and difficulty of this fight compared to all before it was so drastically different. This is an incredible boss fight

Fun to see other strategies on this guy. Personally I just use a nail art after all his moves. Getting the dash slash during each time he shoots needles is really nice. Pretty sure thats the only way to hit him during that.

Yeah I’ve managed to be able to do that consistently. After 5 hours of practice. And on attuned difficulty And with the best equipment in the game.

This boss gets a lot easier when you realize you can just jump over 90% of his attacks

I wanna come up with lyrics for pure vessel, either god seeker sings the first half, praising his power, and the king for making such a strong god of nothingness, preaching about how the knight shall be destroyed.....the other half is pure vessel, he sings of his pain, of how he wanted to make pail king proud, his guilt of feeling, questioning why he fights the knight, before ending on a somber “I’m sorry dad”, as the song fades with the radiance’s roar.

I think the cape was made out of something like, a statue, or glass, or something like that, maybe it was too heavy for pure vessel to fight with, so he broke out of it to gain more agility, and we can confirm it is not soft material since it makes a cracking sound and shatters into bits and pieces.

My theory is that vessels can talk but only on a pitch which they can hear, like a dog whistle.

This battle is so intense, he is always close to you using attacks, and it is difficult to know where you are in the battle, this was so hard with all the bindings in the Pantheon of the Knight. We have a great difference in gameplay, i stick to the ground and use only the dash to evade most of it's attacks.
