I think it was just very dry sarcastic humour - came across as rude at times but I don't think it was intended. I remember at the time the show didn't work well with foreign guests who didn't appreciate that style of humour and thought they were being rude.
Wow this has aged horribly. The irony of mocking her for being "so subversive" when their interview technique was to be as unnecessarily rude as possible to people, regardless of whether the guest deserved it. Surely these presenters look back at these interviews with sheer embarrassment
@@connorjones7473 the entire show was based on taking the piss out of B-List and sometimes even A-List celebrities. Many went on, and specifically requested to go on, knowing that this would happen as it would show them in a good light if they could make fun of themselves. Much like Denis Penis in the end, after everyone knew who he was. You've clearly missed the point entirely but have successfully whipped yourself up into a frenzy over nothing.
