James is the only reason I watch hollyoaks, I don’t usually invest myself in soaps and hollyoaks isn’t the best of them but James Nightingale has surprising depth to his character.

It’s a shame they didn’t believe him , Ellie is such a drama queen and is a proper daddy’s little princess

This reminds me of the Book A Season In Purgatory about a Kennedyesque Family who hid a Murder. The Narrarator Harrison Burns who was the best friend of The Murderer, told his wife that he never talked about his past with his Family because he was too ashamed too. His Father used to beat what he thought was a "Privatized" Sin out of him with Belts, and Wooden Coat Hangers. It's Heartbreaking when a Family Member comes forward with a shocking family secret and the rest of the Family is in "Denial".

I absolutely hated how Alfie and Ellie reacted to this. I was so pissed at them. They have seen how their "saint" of a dad (more like evil shit) treats their older brother, multiple times, but they still refuse to believe James and turn a blind eye. I'm not saying that James is perfect, that he hasn't lied, but with this, how could they not believe him. Do they possibly think so little of their brother that they would think he was capable of making something like this up, do they know their dad so much that they can honestly say he wouldn't do something like that. So what if he was nice to them. That doesn't mean anything to his relationship with James. Each and every relationship is different. It is possible for a parent to love and care for one kid and hurt another. It's happened countless times throughout history. Not all families are functional and not all parents are loving and caring to all of their children. That is one of the shittiest things humans do, parents fucking their own children over.

Easily the best character in recent years to from Hollyoaks.

I got bullied by my parents mostly by my mom she used to make me feel hated about my body my sister was twice as toxic she told them the things that what are not true about me my mum bullied me verbally and physically abuse . When social services moved me they said I was close to death about my body I was sooo skinny . I been through hell past months I been bullied all my life

Poor James! I kinda get why Ellie didn't believe them since Marnie lied about her brain tumour, but Ellie was raped so she should know exactly how it feels when your fear of people not believing of what you've told them about your experience becomes true, her fear did came true so you all understand why she held her secret in in the first place which has lasted for months, it's the same with James with his history of being abused by his own father except James' secret has lasted for years, turned out his same fear also came true. I'm not surprised that Ellie was in denial, but am surprised that she returned back into denial despite after what Mac tried to do to Lisa.
