I love the beauty I see in him that has been produced by his brokenness. I love the humility, honesty and accountability his loss and pain has produced in him. What a beautiful person he has become. God Bless Him. 💛
He has such an eclectic personality, but he's true to himself, no nonsense no bullshit, very deep and sentimental, a noble heart , an amazing actor who doesn't want Hollywood to contaminate him!, love you Mickey!❤❤❤❤❤❤💪
He is an extraordinary actor, and his personal life story , overcoming adversity would also make a great movie. He is a warrior in my eyes. Special guy 😃
Mickey , you're a real man and many times you just been yourself , careless of how you look . You seemed have no need to impress people . Your real life can be an interesting drama itself . You're honest , sensitive , and very kind . Most of all , you're so talented and idealistic man . Also you were very handsome man and you still are . Love you , Mickey , You're the best .
I think that movie has a really important message relevant for now. It discusses how drugs can ruin a culture and also he gets shot cause the cop hates him but he is not black so you see it effects everyone not just blacks.
The director he's referring to that kept yelling at him is Alan Parker while filming Angel Heart. The "other guy" who Parker didn't yell at, is Robert DeNiro.
18 years later... somewhere in the future he lead people ... I loved his quite imperfection and search for words in the moment. out of that became his being that was unique and inspired by his own truth. Return to that way M. R.
Thanx for uploading. It's always great to hear Mickey Rourke talking. You always hear something worth listening & you'll never hear bullshit from Mickey.
Surprised he feels so deeply, sensitive soul, he got really wise, unfortunately had to learn everything through his own mistakes. His childhood trauma did not let him receive what life, his talent has been giving him. I hope he doesn't chain smoke all day.
He is a power by example. took life as is came and is now a humble man and Hollywood needs to bring him back in. The pope has a lot of gas left in the tank
Must be tough living on a construction workers pay. When you are use to piss away an actors pay. The 60 cigarettes a day would kill my economy for sure, along with my lungs. The man sweat nicotine yellow when he works out
@@shmh6002 He broke his nose on two occasions, plus a broken cheekbone. He said he was dissatisfied with the surgeon's work, but it can't be the sole reason for his year by year plastic surgery transformations.
He has already taken operations at his face at that time as its obvious on this interview of 1998. I think his greatest mistake was to start messing up with his face.
I agree the man was very handsome and I don't understand why he would do that to himself. People actually look much better as they age to just be natural and if you happen to be a great actor why screw it up. I remember when I first saw him after the surgery ...I was just floored.
He was a boxer for many years - his face was BADLY damaged. He had no choice on the surgeries. His face is not the process of aging or vanity - but rather beating after brutal beating.
Brenda Lott People need to stop the Bullshit, that his face was messed up by boxing. Look at his fights on RU-vid they where a lol choreographed and fake, never saw anybody land a punch to the face because they were paid not to punch him in the face or anywhere else for that matter.
13:25 ~ I wonder what this project was and who the young director was... I know that Mickey and Darren Aronofsky both said that Aronofsky had been shopping "The Wrestler" around for about 10 years and no-one wanted to back it with Mickey in the lead... And, in '98, Darren would indeed have been a "young director" at 29ish. Hmm...
7:05 is he talking about Angel Heart director Alan Parker and “the other person” was De Niro?? Also what was that movie and director he talks about at 13:30?
abdulmohsen almilli actually, it was Angel Heart director Alan Parker. Rourke talks about the incident in more detail on the Angel Heart Special Edition DVD extra features.
Oops, you're right. I checked it out. My mistake. I thought it was Cimino because there's another interview where Mickey said that Cimino hit him in the head and started yelling at him out of nowhere for doing something wrong and called him a son of a bitch, and he started crying, then someone consoled him and told him that the reason why Cimino did that in the first place was because he liked him so much. It was also silly of me to think that it was Cimino because ''Heaven's Gate'' had been released in 1980. Two years before Mickey had his big break in ''Diner'', so it was impossible for him to lash out already back then even if he was still a purist because he was still fresh out of boob in the business. It wasn't until more than five movies later that he ended up having a reputation for being difficult, so yeah, it was Parker after all. Thanks, anyway.
+Mark Phelps I know it's been more than a year, but after what +martin de vries had said,I had to check it out.As you can see,I replied to him,so you could see my response.Thanks.
abdulmohsen almilli No worries. Rourke is simply an awesome actor. I have almost all of his movies, well at least the ones that didn't go straight to DVD. I met a Chinese girll a few days ago and she trusted me enough to stay at my place last night. I put "Year of the Dragon" on and we watched it. She was like, "Is NY Chinatown really like that.?" I said probably but there might be some hyperbole because Oliver Stone, a noted coke head, wrote the screen play. She was like "Oh." LOL.
I'm going nuts looking for an interview he did. Might have been Gallo. He had Loki on his lap. He was wearing a tshirt with black white horizontal stripes. Anyone know what I'm talking about?
MickeyMickey ,Mickey ,Poland loves you, you don't even know how much. maybe you live with us? you are a good fucker, that's why we invite you to Poland. just don't relax.!
Mickey and his fans say his plastic surgery was because of damage done by boxing (even though the fights were fixed and his opponents were paid not to hit him), then were are all the pics of his face during this period there are none because he never got hit in the head.
he is what happens to people with weak constitutions in vanity land. He looks now like the leatherface guy from texas chainsaw massacre. ANd has NO IDEA he looks that bad. Its bizarre.
I use to be head over heels in love with Mickey for years! Now he ruined his whole face! Please don't give me the boxing shit. He's hooked on plastic surgery..so say goodbye to his Irish cheeks and his beauitful soulful eyes..it's such a shame to ruin true beauty like that...
Some of his fights were clearly against opponents who were paid to lose. Watch them. It's obvious. He's full of crap but he is a damn good actor. Also, what's up with the way his legs are crossed? Again, damn good actor though.
Why does he keep glamorizing his so called boxing career, it was always fake and people would boo and yell “Mickey you suck”. His “fights” were all exhibition 6 rounders and his opponents tried to find ways not to hit him. He would get a lot of respect from people if he would just admit he was not a real boxer.
K man He was never a real boxer and don’t feed me that BS I have seen all of his so called “fights and they are all BS and fake” they were paid not to hit him and never saw him take one real punch to the face and he is no Mayweather, as he has no great defense that would prevent him getting punched in the face. The surgeries were not done by damage in the ring, it was for his own vanity and after awhile he had one too many and got his messed up look.
