The Hollywood Fantasy Orchestra product is fresh and exciting; and with the addition of Orchestrator… just wow! Eastwest’s recent product releases seem to reflect an emphasis on quality, innovation, and ongoing improvement/support. As many others have done, I want to express appreciation for Ryan Thomas. I surely hope Eastwest appreciates the real and significant value he adds; and I hope to continue to see him and his work featured often on this channel for many years to come!

Very happy to be a Composer Cloud Plus Subscriber for a long time already. So I could immediately download all of the new Fantasy Orchestra Content, right at the dates of arrival. Last night I downloaded the ne ORCHESTRATOR and can now get to checkout this high number of presets and let ideas come to mind ;-)

Hi Ryan, how easy is it to transfer these to your template? Do they use all the articulations? Will you have to have a template with all articulations loaded in order to transfer all the midi over?

Orchestrator acts as a base layer to help with inspiration. It is not a one size fits all but a jumping off point for those who are just learning to compose and a powerful tool for those professionals who know how to dig deeper and need to work fast. I've just subbed to the cloud and have been playing with Orchestrator to get me up and running. I've already started to create my first peice and I have no experience with orchestration. It's a bit of a learning curve but it really simplifies the process if you are new to orchestration.

Awesome addition to the Fantasy Orchestra library! A tip for fellow users: I could NOT get this to load. I ended up updating Opus *twice.* First time, according to E-W support, wahes a glitchy version (1.4.0). Once I loaded the latest (1.4.1), it worked like a charm!

I am sitting here in the EW installation center downloading the whole package right now, it's bonkers huge, and sounds bonkers good, so much anticipation and about 3hrs to kill. I have the OE1 & 2 packs from project sam and am wondering how blown away I'm about to be once I compare them to these. Anyone else?

Great Video thanks ... but having followed along with creating the user preset, i really wish you had told me how to save it ! I did work it out in the end, but i was afraid to try too much in case i completely lost all the work i had done creating it. Strangely none of the other videos i could find about creating presets mentioned how to save them either!

Quick question: It's noted that this includes some traditional orchestral instruments to help give the library a fuller sound (ex. 6 Celli, 4 Basses, 8 Violins, 6 Violas, 3 Wagner Tubas, 6 Low Brass Ensemble etc.) Is this all new recorded content for this library? Or are those sourced from older libraries (Hollywood Strings/Symphonic Orchestra)? Also, what is the current full download size for the full Fantasy Orchestra? Love your products! Thanks!

Everything in Hollywood Fantasy Orchestra is brand new, including the traditional orchestral instruments such as the 6 Celli, 4 Basses, 8 Violins, 6 Violas, 3 Wagner Tubas, 6 Low Brass Ensemble, as you referenced. The whole Fantasy Orchestra is about 142 GB.

I just wish the whole orchestra worked in the same Orchestrator plugin. Being able to combine, say, Hollywood Strings or winds with Fantasy Orchestra stuff would be neat. Is there a reason why this wasn't done or isn't possible?

It's a Midi Recorder - if you play Midi through the orchestrator, you should see that Rec hand icon lights up and you can click/drag the midi out from the orchestrator to separate tracks to then load whatever instruments you want on those midi tracks

It should be super easy for their programmer to create a GPT4 API which allows you to use natural language to creates a Hollywood Orchestrator preset simply by describing the instruments, tones, feelings, articulations, etc. that you want. You could also then cycle through basically infinite variations until you found something unique and fitting. Once modal GPT 4 can hear, you could basically roughly sing in each instrument and ostinato; GPT 4 would then create it with proper timing and notes. In fact, just as with visual art and writing, I expect we will be able to apply the style of our favorite or desired composer to our piece to make it sound as if that composer had made it. I think all of this will be created by someone within one year. We are not far from it even right now.

Why can't I change BPM in Orchestrator? I selected SCORE, which is '~145BPM', but I can't change it from 120BPM.

The plugin version should auto-sync to the tempo in your DAW. In the Standalone application, once an instrument is loaded if you switch over to the 'Play' or 'Mix' tab and have the inspector open (button to the right of the keyboard toggle on/off button) there's a tempo control there
