After Cramps I moved from LA to Austin Tx. Got a divorce, rebounded, knocked up, gave birth to an offspring, moved home to NY, raised the child playing solo acoustic shows, Got sober, returned to LA when child was 6, played farmer's markets, stayed AWAY from r 'n r' scene!! Made 4 folk/americana albums under "Fur Dixon & Steve Werner". Played lots of folk/bluegrass gigs over a decade, split w him in 2013. Put new band together and made a r'n r' album called "Return 2 Sender" released 2018. Did a tour of UK Spain and Portugal, racked up a pile of debt. Quit that pretty quick as debt is not worth the hassle of touring. Started making art during the pandemic, all the while trying to keep my feet on the ground and head above water on this crazy 21st century planet. xoxo
@@furdixon3789 Hi Fur, thanks for the full and personal reply. I was not expecting such a detailed and honest account, but touching to read. I downloaded Return to Sender from Bandcamp. Great stuff. Shame the tour did not work out and more of a shame I missed you in the UK. Definitely seek out your other works. Love to see your art. Take care, stay positive. Never forget you and Ivy either side of Lux at Rock City Nottingham back in 86. Made a young man very happy...
@@andywells4455 sometimes we gets a wild hair up our azz, and we writes, precious!! 💘 It’s not that the tour didn’t work out, it’s just that the music conglomerate is not for the small artist. And who on earth would want to sell their soul to be a big one? Unless yer Patti Smith! Looks like she has fun. Thanks for supporting music, love.😽
@@furdixon3789 great that you reply to admirers of your music. Love your attitude. Found some good clips from others of the 2018 tour. Looks like it went down well. Would have been a blast to see the Hillbillys looks like it was pretty insane stuff. Take care
