The one reason why I liked watching this show was because of Paul Lynde. One time I didn't know what question was asked but Paul Lynde answered out AREN'T YOU GLAD? AREN'T YOU GLAD? WHEN YOU USE DIAL.

Paul may have come up with a gag answer here and there, but the celebs were briefed with the categories and joke/correct answers before each taping. The shows wasn't a test of their knowledge but of the contestants' ability to spot bluffs.
John Davidson was a great TV star back then. He could also sing. Search for his cover of "A taste of honey." He did one of the best versions, I think. A good singer.
There was one episode when he was called and he said HEY I AIN'T ANSWERING NO ETHNIC QUESTIONS. Peter asked "What does rouge mean in France?" Demond then acted like he was walking away then sat back down and said WHITE then looked away. It means red.
The first clip came from Wink Martindale's RU-vid channel and he talks about them making a gag reel, the second clip from a color kinescope which is also on RU-vid was another actual gag "reel" and featured quite a few clips that were on the videotape copies Wink had but I removed the film ones as I wanted the best quality/longest clip but I had crappy video editing software at the time so I couldn't edit some of the clips together that had longer footage at the beginning and end.
