@@kborak Your "mess" was caused by a right-wing, deeply neoliberal government. Thirty years after the Cold War ended, and you're blaming the problems caused by your right-wing government on a non-existent "communist" enemy. There's nothing even slightly slightly resembling social democracy in power in the US, let alone socialism. Your furthest left politician is Sanders, whose radical ideas include "higher education should be paid by the state" and "no one should go bankrupt to pay their hospital bill", which would be seen as milquetoast social democracy almost anywhere else. You're made to fear policies which would drastically improve your life using the same boogeyman they used for the last 70+ years. People are no longer jailed just for being accused of being a communist, but the Communist Party is still banned, and hundreds of millions of people are still gripped with fear over an "enemy" which never even posed a threat. The Red Scare never ended.
L k Nixon was right. So was Reagan. The communists have infiltrated our media and with “democratic socialists” they have infiltrated our government. Only a fool would say otherwise.
The best way to prevent socialism, communism or anything of the kind, is to have no parties at all. All things should be decided democratically, without representatives to subvert the people's will. Power should be splitted as much as possible so no one can take power and install communism. The banking institutions, army, even large corporations have already been infiltrated and are beyond saving: they should be abolished. Truly, it is the only way to prevent socialism ;)
