Hollywood blvd makes me feel really uncomfortable with all the shady people. $20 is way too much; there are people at conventions with much better hand-made costumes who don't charge you to take photos with them. So good to see you and Jen having fun at least. : )

The observatory is the best place to see Hollywood sign

I so very much appreciate you two sharing this experience. 🤗💚 I have a driving/flying phobia, and as much as I'd love to see Hollywood, CA one day, I get too comfortable at home to want to leave, and avoid going any further than I absolutely have to. But it's awesome to see what a real trip to the Blvd would be like. It's an iteresting place for sure. I still love a small town life, though 😆 I'm in Amish country, PA (10 min from Dutch wonderland) and I think I like the "boring", slow paced country areas over a hustle n' bustle place like CA. I had been to Raleigh Durham NC, or a small farm area outside of Raleigh to visit a relative, and I absolutely loved that area. cant wait to see your new home when youre settled in at the NC place. It's so gorgeous there.💚

I would not give obese Blorro or Spiderman $20 a piece,$5 for the effort in the costumes is all they would be getting

There is absolutely a better place to view the Hollywood sign. Near the reservoir, at the lake Hollywood park. It's directly under the sign... great selfies!! 👍

I was very surprised how close the homes were to the street. Not all had fences. Big glass windows facing the street.

Take a drive up Mulholland Drive. Lots of older Hollywood stars homes. Rudolph Valentinnos house is stunning. Go past Jimmy As tewarts fist house of 3 he owned in Hollywood. Late night stars tours are fun. You see alot of people out. Harrison Ford is awesome . Your right.

Always negotiate the price with the characters before taking photos. That goes for Hollywood and Las Vegas. Go to the Bronson caves for a great selfie spot for the Hollywood sign. These were the caves used in the 1960s television series Batman. it's about a 1/2 mile walk from the parking area to the caves.

I think all the hustlers take the fun out of the visit as a tourist. What a shame.....where are the legislation to stop all of this? All the noise as well too stressful for me. Hope you guys enjoy being together. At least it's quiet at the top!

As for the characters and the photos, I lived in Las Vegas for 17 years (up until 2019) and the ones on the Strip and Downtown were $5 or $10. $20??? Yeah, you're right, he was hustling you. And it was so good to see you got a shot of the Magic Castle. My dad was able to get our family in there one time when I was really young (so late 60's, early 70's). Thanks for the FUN VID!!!!!

I live in Los Angeles and these tours lie about who lives in these houses. I live in the hills and one time a tour bus drove by my house and said Selena Gomez lived in my house. It was obviously a lie 😂

There's another place that you can get much closer to the Hollywood sign but you'll have to hike it. You go over to Bronson Canyon where the Batcave exit for the TV show is and the path from there leads you to the closest you can get. The sign itself is fenced off and anyone who climbs over it, usually gets arrested since the ground is owned by someone who at one time was going to build houses there.

I'm curious Jacob, have you ever accidentally broken a souvenir snow globe with all the countless times you've done the "rosebud" tagline 🤪

1 to $5 is the norm. The overweight Spirit Halloween costumed characters deserved a $1 at most. Madame Tussauds sometimes has a wax celeb in front where you pose for free. A good place to view the Hollywood sign by car is at 3100 Canyon Lake Drive just past Lake Hollywood Park.

The closest point to the sign is just to the west of the intersection of Mulholland Highway and Durand Drive.

The GIV painted a small part of the Hollywood sign a few months ago. He also did a 3 a.m. tour of Rodeo Drive a few months back too.

Photo costs should be zero unless their character or look really resonates with you. Going to a con is waaay cheaper and waaay better quality costumes for the most part. Having said that, the Hollywood cosplayers are a gitchy part of the Hollywood Boulevard experience so consider it part of the paid portion of the walking experience and you'll sleep better.
