This is a great Bible dictionary. I also have the Zondervan and the Nelson ones, which are very good also. Those three together make the perfect trio of Bible dictionaries!

It’s a little unfair to expect an illustrated dictionary this size to have the same amount of entries as a Concordance- which is what I would use with this work. This book is a visual guide to many biblical concepts but it can’t do everything. No one volume can imho. Incidentally we do use ‘sup’ in the UK - especially in the military (specifically for beer)

I have this dictionary but I pair this dictionary with Noah Webster's 1828 American Dictionary of the English Language. Which does have “backbiter” and “sup” BACK'BITER, n. One who slanders, calumniates or speaks ill of the absent. SUP, v.t. To take into the mouth with the lips, as a liquid; to take or drink by a little at a time; to sip. There I'll sup Balm and nectar in my cup. SUP, v.i. To eat the evening meal. When they had supped, they brought Tobias in. SUP, v.t. To treat with supper. Sup them well. [Not in use.] SUP, n. A small mouthful, as of liquor or broth; a little taken with the lips; a sip. Tom Thumb got a little sup.

You made me laugh when you said you were looking for a word you can pronounciate. The Bible I read is the ASV Teachers Edition which has all names of people and places written as self pronouncing and is so very helpful lol.

If you cannot find the word "sup" then the NKJV has eat Rev 3:20. The NKJV is a literal word for word translation of the KJV. Sup means eat. Then you can also look up eat in the Holman dictionary if you want to. However a concordance would be great to use with this. :)

I'm in the UK and the words "sup" and "back biting" are known even though they aren't commonly used words

✝️ My daughter order me the “Diccionario Biblico iLustrado - Holman for my birthday. She knows I love to read & study the #WordOfGod! And also the RVR1960/KJV (Spanish & English) for reading in Spanish. Thank you! I was wondering if it was in English also. So I RU-vid it and there it is. May be my next gift. Gotta go and enjoy and read my Spanish dictionary. Ty, & God bless!

Jean Nathanael Charles both are good. a good thing to do would be to look at the features of each dictionary & get the one that appeals more to you

I got both - well I’m waiting for Ungars but I will say the quality of this reference is beautiful. Smyth bound, great heavy gloss paper, great colours. If you can’t afford both I would get this then save for Ungers
