I used to live in Scholes, (Acorn Grove). I loved Scholes and I loved Holmfirth. Unfortunately I was enticed away in 1982 to first Canada and then the U.S. What a huge mistake that was. Here am I still marooned in the U.S. I hope before I die that I and my American wife can make it back to Holmfirth/Scholes. I have lived and worked all over the world since I left. I kid you not, nothing can compare to to the Holmfirth area. I wish I could come home again. Sad.
Holmefirth is on my to do list before I croak it!! Used to go to the dairy years ago with work. .... I'm an ardent fan of the series and watch them over n over The theme tune will be played at my funeral my wife and I will hopefully stay at Nora's Cottage if I can find somewhere to park my car!!!!!! I'm told the landlord of the pub opposite is quite friendly maybe if we promise to eat n drink there for a week . . . . . . . Hopefully 2019 it is xx
At 3:06 there used to be a black sign with gold lettering placed high on the wall to the left hand side, sometime around 1993. Does anyone know what that was?
