i literally thought the sameee! it wouldve been perfect 😭 it’s def what i was expecting but apparently they leaned into the ice cream theme more last minute, it was originally more cookies/macarons focused based on the mood board, so i guess it makes sense why there isnt one. fingers crossed we’ll get one in the future though lol 🥹
O M G ... well now all I am going to think about is that! Some tiny multi-colored matte circle glitters would have been perfect! I might have to grab my bottle of 'Spotted' from the Orly Lisa Frank collab and add that into a skittle with these (along with that Crime & Punishment for mint choc chip). Wow. What missed opportunity for sure. Bummer.

As always really a great review, thank you Stefanie. I love the concept of a number of creams with a topper/-s. Reading the comment about the late change of concept the collection makes more sense. I love black flakies WITHIN a polish not so much on top. And as an afterthought: wouldn‘t macarons and cupcakes not be a better fit for spring than icecream (am reminded of the Cuticula Galaxy Macaron Collection)
thank you as always Christine!! 💗 yeah i do like how this was basically he spring version of the fall bundle we got that had ~6 cremes and a topper! i did also have that thought that ice cream would’ve been better for a summer release instead of spring, the original mood board did have more cupcakes and cookies though but yeah interesting they haven’t really shown that in the promo photos 🤔 maybe they’ll come soon!
I don't think I've ever been so excited about a creme launch! The marketing is just so on point, it's incredible, so well done. I'm def going to be doing a skittle on one hand with these ala Neapolitan ice-cream and a Oreos and milk on the other. And I totally agree that a mint choc chip would tie in so nicely too! I assume the the calories from the Oreos I consumed during all the swatch video I've watched don't count, right? 😅

The cremes look very rich and classic. Very beautiful. But the black flakie grosses me out LOL. Maybe my age is showing? Don't know. I'm glad other people are enjoying it.
i really loved the cremes! they felt much better than some of their other cremes which lean almost on the crelly side imo. and hahaha i know some people have said black flakies look like specks of dirt, so i get it 🤣 i do wish they gave us a colorful topper option too!
I overall like this collection, though I don’t LOVE it. Like you said, I like the promo pictures and the vision for the collection more than the collection itself. I don’t mind it being mostly cremes, since I see this as more of a mini launch anyway. I do love the black flakie topper though!! Cirque’s speckled polishes are one of my favourite finishes (I probably have all of their speckled polishes :p) and I really like that HT’s version is slightly bigger flakes than Spotted. Either way I think I’ll end up getting the whole collection at some point, but will probably wait for a sales later on in the year.
yeah definitely! i would rather this be a bundle instead of a full blown collection (even tho i’m sure a sweets inspired box would be so cute too!) i’m glad you’re loving black flake taco too! ugh yes i also love cirque’s speckled polishes, i don’t have many of them but they’re amazing 😍 but right there’s something so nice about those bigger shards! it just works for this topper so well. totally think its a great idea to grab these during a sale too!
Honestly? Not ordering any of them, not even likely to pick something up later. There have been so many browns and oranges. Like, I understand the colorway, etc. it's just that I won't wear them, literally ever, any of them. I already have browns, oranges, yellows, whites/creams that I don't wear. And I'm so very not pastel. Ginger snatched is terra cotta, and does it perfectly. Brownie points is a lovely chocolate brown. And if I was going to wear those colors it wouldn't be in a creme, and I already have more interesting finishes in that general direction.
i totally get what you mean! even tho the browns were unique for my collection, i dont think i’d feel the neeed to get them bc i already don’t wear my browns enough lol. and i can see Ginger Snatched looking like terracotta too, for me its not as orangey as terracotta but it def works! but oh definitely would love to know what specialty finish browns you have that are similar to Brownie Points! 🤤
This is exactly how I feel Why would I wear brownie points if I have espresso your holo? They seem the same and one is far more interesting I understand why these polishes were released, it just feels lack luster full
Was waiting for your review on these! I really love this bundle look. I don't mind it being a more boring drop, especially since it's a low key release, no box, etc. Agree with you, the marketing campaign for these was out of this world good! I cannot wait to get my hands on that dark brown. It looks absolutely perfect for the fall and I'm a sucker for dark shades that are almost black but not black. I also want to get my hands on the Butter color because I don't have a pale yellow in my collection! They all look great over all! And for not being a black flake fan, I do love the irregularity of the flakes in this one. I like the less sparse look I think but will probably pass on that one and the white shimmer, as much as they look stunning together.
yeah definitely get you! these feel like great shades to fill out gaps they have and they don’t really need an exciting launch lol. omg yeah Brownie Points is def a really great dark brown that isn’t too dark it looks black! i think you’ll love the butter yellow too, it was a pleasant surprise how much i liked it 🧈🤍 totally understand passing on the black flake + milky white though! do you think you’d like the milky shimmer if it was just a diff color, or are you not super into the finish?
@@PolishedYogi I probably would! I think Holo Taco has historically done really well at reformulating polishes after initial releases (magnetics, the one anniversary crushed holo). So I think the patchiness might be corrected if there enough of this feedback. I still may pick up the white to play with different flake topper sandwiches though. I just think some iridescent flakes in between the white could be stunning.
Thank you so much for swatching and reviewing these! Your videos are always so helpful. Honestly, I haven't been super impressed with HT this year so far. Didn't love the colour story of I Need Space and crèmes at over $16 a piece is not something I can justify right now. Skipping these for now in hopes of some nice mixed formulas in the future (like what we saw in the Vacation collection) or some bright colourful shimmers.

Thanks so much for showing the black flake next to Cirque Spotted, I was wondering! I have the Cirque one so I don't think I need another one and I like it better. I do have some Holo Taco polishes, but what I want from the brand is more unique polishes. I feel like I could get those cremes anywhere.

Black flake hater here lol. I'm surprised they released the milky white in such a sub-par formula. I don't watch a lot of her videos but doesn't Christine hate milky white? 🤔I'm going to give the Night Owl milky collection a try instead I hope they perform well!
lol yes she was def a milky white hater 😅 not quite sure if she’s come around to them or this was more of a customer request, but she did make it sound like we’ll see more of that milky shimmer formula. and oh i didn’t see those! they look really nice esp for the price point, i was gonna recommend Dimension Nails milky sheers but i’m not sure if she’s restocking them so Night Owl looks like a great alternative! 🤍

And the periwinkle comparison too - i do like the vibrancy of this one, but would personally prefer it to be lighter/more white-based. the white and the topper though 🙈 im not the target audience HAHA. i HATE crellies coz im not the best at application and they are forever streaky on me, and look like half-hearted cremes. i also hate the speckled look, looks like mold 😂 like Mooncat's newest LE flakie shade has such breathtaking gorgeous colors - but then i thought i spied a black fleck in it and was like yeaaa nah nope 🙊

It really suprised me how much I love Milky White Shimmer on you! 😍 I was for sure going to pass on that one until I saw your swatch. I am glad these are not limited edition though. Girl... you just got me craving a boston cream doughnut lmao! I like this collection but I think I'll only snag a few of these. I love the chocolate, cinnamon, and periwinkle shades. I love that milky shimmer but seeing the application of it I'm not sure now, it looks a little annoying to get even and I have long nails. I have Spotted from Cirque and I prefer the smaller flakes so I will pass on this black flake topper. I'm in no rush to make a purchase though so I wont be getting any of these shades right away. As always I love and appreciate the comparisons and the honest review! ❤

I skipped the butter color and the light pink from this collection, I really don't like those lighter colors on my nails. She already teased that there will be a lot more pinks this year 🤭I am hoping for more saturated ones with lots of holo, glitter and shimmer.

I went out and bought Newman O’s because of that black flakey topper. I’m legit passing on it because I know it will send me on an Oreo spree every time I use it. Haha I really like the cremes thoigh, that yellow is the exact spring color I’ve been looking for! And I was trying to decide between Peri-Social and Cereal Killer so thanks for comparing them 💖

HT cremes are pretty impressive with their coverage! I might pick up the periwinkle, and I'm surprised by how much I'm drawn to the cinnamon one too-- I'm usually all cool tones, but there is something about that particular shade that is really appealing to me. Good swatches! Also, this is off-topic, but since you are so good with your polish comparisons, I thought I'd ask. I'm looking for an oceany turquoise aqua shifty shimmery kind of polish, and I think I've narrowed it down to HT Wireless Mode, CC Wipe Out, or MC River Styx. Assuming you have those, is there one you prefer? Does one or another have better formula, coverage, shimmer, sparkle? I'm curious what you think. Thanks! 💅

Pretty much all one-coaters 😊 Although I might be a bit heavy handed too lol Thank you for your shimmer input!! I like a sheer but well-balanced buildable shimmer formula so I think Wipe Out is the one. Much appreciated!!
I haven't bought creme polishes in years, but this release makes me wonder if I would want to. I have let's be friends and I always wanted a warm leaning pink that would not be as white as LBF. And I'm a sucker for all things periwinkle :)
these cremes def have super lovely formulas! i do almost hesitate calling Sweet Tooth warm, but it definitely isn’t as cool toned as other pinks. maybe its neutra lol? but its super pretty along with the periwinkle!!
Very cute and I will pick up some of these. I wish the black flake was more sparse or smaller flakes. Black is so overpowering that subtle is better and more versatile.
yeah i get you! for me its just dense enough but it really is close to crossing the line, so i get how its too much lol. i think you’d be able to wipe off more from the brush to almost do a glitter/flakie placement method? 🤔 unless you just get Cirque’s Spotted, thats easier lol
It's a very cute collection! But I'm not tempted to buy, thank goodness! Of course, I had to see the comparisons of the periwinkle one. It's close enough to what I already have ... again, thankfully, according to my wallet 😊

A lot of the images online that show ginger snatched looked less saturated than holo tacos ads so it is the one that seems unclear if it is more pale or saturated.
hm Ginger Snatched might just be one of those chameleon shades, where its gonna look pretty diff depending on things like lighting and skin tone. i personally wouldn’t call it muted/pale though!
Honestly, I find it boring for Holo Taco (except for the black flake taco). I feel like I can find similar shades for less than what holo taco is selling them for. If I pay that much I want it to feel unique, not something I can pick up from OPI or Essie for $10 or less.
thats fair! there might be something more similar from OPI or Essie, like You’re Such a Budapest or Fiji respectively. hooefully you’ll find their next release more exciting! i def would love to see more sparkle from them ✨

The collection theme is just spot on!!! But not all to my taste which is good for my wallet. I have no problem with that. I don't want to love everything. I'm on the fence with black speckled things. I have some lovely rogue lacquers that i don't seem to wear unless fall. I do have cirque spotted that is more demure so i prefer that IF i were to wear a black flake topper. I just picked up the periwinkle and the milky shimmer. I didn't have a periwinkle creme and I'm still scratching my head why i picked up the milky shimmer. I dislike white crelly polishes with a passion! Maybe after seeing so many indie white crellies with colored glitters in them, this understated white shimmer grew on me?? I am thinking of it more for nail art/accent nail to jazz up a creme white. Thanks as always for the extra time you spend on polish comparisons!!!! Truly appreciated ❤

@@PolishedYogi The theme is so adorable and cohesive and love all the artwork and video. I do not get insulted at all. I NEED to not like everything! I have over 600 polishes now and need to be good. A brand has to offer things that they don't have in their catalog. After awhile though, you'll end up with something similar from a different brand. It's not the new brand's fault. Only so many combos of colors and finishes out there.
