I totally agree about Crimson Void & Dead Petals!! I feel like Holo Taco shades are a case study for how Cristine sees colors because she definitely feels they're different enough, and let's not forget about how Midnight Spark is definitely a blue but she says it's purple lol
Haha- Midnight Spark is one that I didn’t realise for ages was not actually categorised as solely Blue. Also for the longest time I thought that Party Punch was straight up Red 😅 I can see the hot pink now but before I knew it was meant to be hot pink, in my mind it was red without question!
I revisited the Holo Taco website to see what you mean about Party Punch because I just registered it as red in my memory… I still think it’s more red than pink, but the description says it’s pink! What a fun time, this is!! Haha :) Thanks for the great video & reply!
I feel the exact same about crimson void and dead petals. I see the difference but I think crimson void could definitely be a lot more red. It's a bit disappointing as dark reds are my absolute favorite color.
Yeah I think if Crimson void was shifted just a bit more toward Red it would be perfect. It is genuinely lovely as it is but sometimes it really does look more purpley to me!! Thanks for your thoughts! ☺️

I definitely prefer Dead Petals to Crimson Void as it's noticeably more cool toned, that's their main difference imo. cool tones always look better on me so I'm naturally drawn to them.

I always loved to watch Simply’s collection release videos but since she’s moved to livestreaming, I can never see the whole collection in depth cuz I don’t have three hours to spare! Your reviews are always lovely but now I appreciate them even more. I have the same feeling on Crimson Void and Dead Petals so I only opted for one of the two, but I have so many pinks I went for the red shade this time. But Lost in the Woods is just *chef’s kiss* perfection. A color they were absolutely missing and one of my favorite colors in general so I’m so glad to have a polish of it!
Simply does highlight videos of her launch streams that are about 20 minutes long after the original stream. I recommend checking those out on the simply not logical channel as well as the launch videos on Holo taco channel that are about 3-5 minutes long each 🙃
@@ronnietheboywonder I do love the Holo Taco channel’s release and Simply’s highlights but HT doesn’t do the swatch comparisons like Tamsin, and sometimes I’m just not in the mood to for the chat stuff that the highlights still have. I still support Cristine and enjoy her videos but sometimes I just want to know about the polish and I just wanted to show Tamsin some love too
I think for me Crimson Void is just a bit too cool/purple toned! I ended up mixing a bit of Red Liquorice and a tiiinnny bit of orange drink to make it redder/warmer!
I have no problem telling colors apart, and my Crimson Void and Dead Petals were darn near identical in a lot of lighting situations. I could still tell which was which, but I'm an artist. My fiance had no idea I was wearing two different colors. I wanted something closer to naughty list because I love that color, but don't always want a glitter formula (also I save it because I can't just replace it!) Like a lot of people have pointed out, a lot of us aren't seeing the colors Cristine is seeing. Midnight spark is a cool-toned blue, but it's not purple. Party Punch is not pink. It's a very pretty oft neglected shade of red, but my bottle is not hot pink lol. I can kinda see pink-ish in the gelly base, but once it's all on, dry, and glossy, it's florescent red.
I bought the box set and was a bit disappointed that those two were so similar but I'm absolutely in love with the rest! I could take either one of Crimson Void or Dead Petals and likely not miss the other, no preference which. 😅💖
Nice Swatching!💅Amber Apathy IS actually super fancy classy... Since the formula is shiny and kinda metallic I do describe it as an "Aged or Antique Brass/Gold".🖤💛✨This shade of yellow is classy to me cause it's not too bright/vivid like traditional yellow usually is.🤩👌It's Yellow but more subtle💖...
@@NailArtbyTamsin She's a "Fancy Sassy Classy Brassy🖤💛✨", all the Yellow Polishes are pretty in their own way💅💛... And I appreciated they made Burnt Bridges more of a brown, b'coz Brown IS a "True Dark Orange"🖤+🧡=🤎✨, It's nice to have another brown as a substitute for Choco-Holo🍫✨😋
i do wish crimson void was a warmer, more orange-y red tone. as it is, though, i love how well it pairs with i’m over brew; those polishes to me look identical, just different finishes
I agree that Dead Petals and Crimson void look to similar, which is why I'll probably never get both of them as I feel like it's a waste of my money when there are so many other beautiful polishes that are different from each other, and will expand my collection more than having both of these.
Hiya, I'm using the Holo Taco Glossy Taco! (I've swapped the brush out for the wide flat brush that Holo Taco sell separately though, as I find that a lot easier to work with for top coat).
Females have more red cones which makes us able to see more shades of red, but even between us, we see a different range as well. Hence why people have a hard time with red shades.
Peely base doesn’t prevent staining, just FYI! I haven’t experienced any major staining with these polishes but I also haven’t worn them for long periods.
