I love this woman! I see someone posted she was spoiled. No... she is very confident and a leader, not spoiled.

Very spoiled and arrogant. She admits to being part of the ‘White Flight’ in Chicago! Too good for the blacks!

First off, the interviewer was amazing. She let Ruth tell her story without interruption. But if you questions that the interviewer asked, they prompted Ruth to be more in-depth with her stories. I have a suspicion that this wonderful interview were at also been a part of the holocaust. Ruth was very fortunate . The Ruth used her intelligence to create that fortune. Had she not been intelligent and no no how to direct her life to take advantage of the opportunities, she and her whole family could’ve ended up in Auschwitz! Cerise survival is not because of good fortune but it’s because of her good intelligence and knowing when to take advantage of opportunities for survival! And a special thank you to the farmer! I love the story about his putting milk mixed with water while the SS was watching him milk the cows! It’s that type of ingenuity that made Ruth and everybody else who survived the Holocaust able to tell their stories now. God bless them all. God has blessed everyone who can hear their stories. In 2021 things are not so good in America anymore. We have some terrible times ahead of us! I am learning what to do in case we need to be survivalists even in 2021! Thank you Ruth. I am adding chocolate to my survival cash! I hope Ruth’s family will read this and know that I love the whole family! And I think God that he led me to hear Ruth story and therefore the story of her family and wonderful husband.

In the face of ignorance & hate, I am typically immue from outrage. But hate sometimes has a soapbox from which reasonable people are influenced. And so, this rebuttal. Your comment comes 13.5 years after the survivor interview (Aug 1997). Mrs. Birndorf (Miriam Bernstein) was a preteen. The interview was 52 years later (not 68). Ruth Birndorf is a genuine survivor. A hidden child of Tilberg Holland with a continuous and indisputable record of history. Ellery [at] starbus [dot] com

Why repeat the name and other information so many times.....and it’s also written.
@terrisnider5402
@terrisnider5402 2 года назад
The name is made to be added as much as possible. Especially along with each picture. Some people will go through and only look at the pictures and need to know who is in them for documentation and history. I hope this answers your question as to why names are mentioned so much. Not everybody is going to sit and listen to the entire 3+ hours, that perhaps just look at the pictures, Hoping to hear a name of someone in their own family history.

Let's spell it: Pinakothek: Greek for picture gallery. Alte Pinakothek in Munich (München) is probably the most famous and best picture gallery for old paintings in Europe - or in the World, To ask to spell it does not look like too much culture - at least in Europe. This is probably the reason why Ruth was unwilling to spell it. (Not to speak of the fact that it is irrevalent to the essence of this interview.)

The spelling of places and names is for the purpose of aiding other survivors in possibly finding lost family, through means of names of places. Remember that many decendants of survivors are Americans and not familiar with these places and names. Spelling *is* necessary.

ok, why can't you go back and edit out some of the sound? Especially the door bell. I just about jumped out of my chair!!!!!!!!!! This is very unprofessional...the filming and the sound.
@johannamcleane5759
@johannamcleane5759 3 года назад
The sound is awful the person asking the questions blows you out of your chair you go to all of this time to take these important stories so have someone who knows what they are doing run the equipment.
@chrisblevins755
@chrisblevins755 3 года назад
Renee, the interviewer is also a survivor. They didn't want to edit the testimonials due to holocaust deniers.
