Speaking to students on 12-1-08 at the Holocaust Museum and Learning Center in St. Louis. Note that the last 4 minutes are a little choppy because of how the files were compiled.
Loved that her testimony had captions you could read as she spoke! She was one of the last Holocaust survivors to speak-84 years old at the time when she shared her fascinating testimony in front of these students in 2008! Was so easy to listen to because of her excellent communication style & her ability to weave a picturesque visual of the events that happened to her & her family! She truly was a visionary & realized it was imperative to get out of Germany no matter what the cost, even if that meant going against the wishes of her parents... because of being so determined & willing to sacrifice everything, she is one of the lucky ones to have survived who is alive today sharing her story...
I'm from Germany and my Father was have Polish my Grandma was Frome Poland she never talk about world war 2 it was to pain full for her she lost her falmy in Poland but she was a strong woman and my Mom was hiding a lot of Juwish people I'm so proud of her i miss them very much and love them very much to my God bless the Juwish people i wand to tell so much its hurts some times
I noticed one guy in a grey T shirt sitting next to a girl with long blonde hair laughing /or sort of smirk on his face! I am so pissed off with the younger generation NOT all but seems they have lived such privileged lives. Mom and Dad buy what ever they need! Hence why some of these kids still live at home pass their 30's. If there was a WW3 wtf would these kids do I fear for the future.
My late father, born in 1912, had his life interrupted twice; first by the depression, then by WW II. as my younger brothers wedding rehearsal dinner in a very fancy place, he turned me and said, “I’m going to have these successful young people were dealing with the things my generation had to face. “ Good question.
Ilse Altman is such a gentle and intelligent woman. I am glad she told the story on how life was before Hitler came to power. I pray the world today will realize the danger of anyone in power that preaches hate. Ilse's story makes me realize I need to offer aid to the people from Mexico who are trying to start a new life
The crimes and cruelties committed against my sons and daughters, my fathers and mothers, my brothers and sisters hurt me deeply, regardless their ethnicity and nationality. In Isaiah 2: 4, Jehovah God, the Creator and Source of life, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, promises: "He will be judge among the nations and will settle matters in relation to many peoples. They will turn their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning shears. The nations will no longer raise their swords against each other and learn no more to wage war." My immediate neighbors are Jews and I am a Jehovah's Witness. Their hearts are superior than pure gold by far. They are extremely kind. The gentleman takes care of my trash can every Wednesday without my asking him to do so. They are lovely human beings, and they are not in need of the smallest improvement.
The closed captioning is very poor. This woman has an important story to tell future generations and this captioning nearly spoils her message. Can’t someone redo this??????
What are u talking about, the recent hate out of the USA came out of Trump's mouth. That shit, he didn't condemn those idiots marching around with gauliter torches shouting, " Jews will not replace us". I'd like to kick Trump's ass. How could I miss ?
