The brand The Unseen has released Colour Alchemy, "the world's first holographic temporary hair colour," which changes color when exposed to heat. Producer Nico Reyes tests the dye on her hair in two different ways, straight and curly, to see if the temporary dye actually does shift color and is easy to apply and easy to remove.

This is pretty sick, I love this. Pricy yes but I think you get a fair amount in the bottle and it's a special occassions thing. Also rare to find a hair coloring thing that works on dark hair!

That's really neat! I wouldn't pay that much for it but that's pretty neat! Although I wish people would quit calling everything holographic, that is not holographic, it's thermal!

it’s totally stunning on your curls tbh, even though the colour change effect isn’t as visible as it is on straight hair, it’s still really obvious and looks amazing when your curls move and then when the temp changes and you get mermaid coloured streaks and patches. literally the coolest thing!!! and sweet to know it doesn’t transfer

I'm actually thinking this could be used for making sure you don't overheat hair when blowdrying 🤔 if you see the pretty colours then you're close to damaging sensitive scalps and fine hair. Worth mentioning to hairdressers ' trainees maybe ? Sad it's only on hot settings, wish it was chromo-sunlight sensitive 🤩

@@lucyk.5163 As a blonde who has died my long hair black, it gets sooooo much hotter in the sun then my blonde did. I go hiking quite a bit and I can feel the difference. I need to wear a sun hat with my dark hair, didn't really expect on super hot days with the blonde.

This is really cool! As someone who has naturally curly and thick hair, I never dyed my hair because I feel it might not look right. You rarely see people with curly hair dying their hair really out there colors. Thanks for showing this to show difference. I might consider this option.

That is SUCH a fun party trick, but who can walk around all day with a blow dryer to show it off? If I thought the sunshine alone (and I live in California) was strong enough to bring out the color, I would absolutely pay $75 for it!! That’s a reasonable price for that kind of fun, temporary color payoff. But I REALLY doubt it would reveal itself outside of my bathroom with a blow dryer pointed directly at my head.

you only need to apply heat once until you wash your hair it wont come off it's like daily skincare but with hair.

It looks so cool and would look nice for cosplay, but I'm not sure in what situation why people would need this, and it doesn't seem like the safest to put on hair. Her hair is so pretty tho. I have light brownish beige hair and it wouldn't look as cool on my hair as it does on her hair. In my opinion this would also look good on dark blue hair too.

@@susanplatt5331 I have the same problem! Let me know if it works, so far I haven't found a root lifter I like. What does help some tho is doing a bit of a zig-zag part whilst it's drying and then flip it back the opposite way. Gives me some volume but still doesn't really last 😕

I live in a part of California where it’s sunny almost every day of the year, but I don’t think it would ever be hot enough to change the color. I mean, one would need to live in Florida (I think) to have the combination of direct sunshine AND heat to mimic the effect of a blow dryer. But that’s just a guess. I’m fairly certain that sunshine alone won’t do the trick, though.

I've seen color change pigments in many products the last 10 years or so. It's difficult to find in powdered form, usually comes as a liquid that can turn rubbery with heat, which makes spending that much money on a bottle heartbreaking when it goes "bad". I've tried reconstituting it with no success. The paint is primarily used for temperature regulation, such as fish bowls. This hair color looks really cool, and the developers really nailed the consistency and ease of application. I would like to know what the liquid ingredients are.
