Aaron's become my go-to, as far as optics reviews. I'll be receiving my Armed Security license, in a couple of weeks, and, will then become a first-time gun owner. Wanting to make a wise, informed decision, I'm watching a wide range of information on RU-vid, and, it's become easy to determine that Aaron's analysis skills are top-notch, entertaining, informative, and professional.
Dude your review is the ONLY one I’ve been waiting for on the 507k since shot show. I knew it was good as soon as I saw that first shot at 25yards after the 4th drop. I’ve wanted this sight for so long but wouldn’t put it on a CC pistol until it got the thumbs up from you. Keep up the great work. You’re doing amazing things for the average people who only buy 1 new gun a year to fill a perceived need.
I carry a Sig P365XL. I have been wanting the 507K for a while now. Walked into my gun range on July 1st and they had one in the case. Cost was 299 with free installation and zeroed. My credit card jumped out of my wallet before I knew it. Very happy with my gun and now the RDS.
Was recommended to you by a local gun shop that told me to go home and watch some of your videos so i can make a more educated decision, (i’ve just turned 21 and gotten into carry) and i must say you deserve more credit for the fine work you do, very well spoken and every test is exactly something we were hoping to see, i will be returning to the shop on my next day off to pick up the holosun 507k for my newley purchased hellcat osp.
I’ve been interested in this optic since hearing about it early on but have been waiting for an in depth review such as yours. Glad it held up and thanks for the info and great video.
Great review, you kept it moving and relevant but also added lots of supporting details and/or evidence to give the viewer a good idea of what to expect. Thanks man!
This guy might be the best source for the product review that he is doing/testing. I’ll just say it, maybe on the entire net. Another fantastic review with everything covered.
Been on the fence about putting an optic on my 365XL... the battery side-load and the "mini" Donut of Death reticle seals it for me. Will be my first Holosun purchase, looking forward to it. Another great review by Aaron!
Between your videos and Holosun's continued proven durability it makes me want to take up stock in the company! Excellent and thorough review as always, thanks Aaron 🇺🇸
I bought a 407k for my off-duty carry, which is a new to me 43X. I had been carrying a SW Shield. I wanted the larger MOA dot as my eyesight ain’t what it used to be. My Dept only approved the Leupold & RMR for on- duty use. But the $600+ for the RMRcc is ridiculous and I dislike the having to remove the entire unit for battery change. After watching this I’m even more happy with my decision. Seems rugged and meets all my requirements. Thanks. I appreciate the real world testing and I’ll follow your channel here on out.
Just the review that I was hoping for. I replaced my fragile Shield RMSc with a new 507k. I already felt confident about making the switch, but this makes me feel just that much better. Thanks for your awesome reviews!
The 507/407k were designed specifically with the P365XL in mind. The mounting on a 365XL removes the rear sight so the minimal one on the optic body acts as the backup sight in that specific application.
Simple video title (no clickbait) is much appreciated. The information delivery style is no-nonsense and reasonable, unlike so many others. Subscribed.
Great review and perspective, thanks. Last week I ordered the 507k for my new 365XL as a carry gun, so I feel great about my choice after watching your review! Now just waiting on a 3-4 week backorder, like a kid before Christmas....
I'm not sure which I'm more anxious for. Getting a notification saying my 507K is being shipped or a notification stating my 43x build from Agency is complete. :D
Bought a Trijicon RMR2 for my P10S (subcompact), but these Holosun offerings are doing pretty well! Thanks for another great review, and putting this Red Dot through the same paces and eliminating any doubt of it’s potential performance.
Three years later and still relevant and very valuable information to the American shooting community , this is the optic I will purchase for the two Springfield Hellcats I purchased for myself and my wife " we are a tactical team and train as such " . Then come Christmas , I plan to gift Springfield Hellcats with the 507k to each of my three adult daughters who have children to protect. All thee daughters have been firearms training since their teens and have CCP's. Thank you for all the work and expense involved in the testing and work to make this video.
I'm glad you maintained your standard of testing. Some people might wind up in a fighting situation with these micro dots, and it's good to know if they are at least capable of surviving a hard fight.
Holy shit, finally a review with standards. I've been waiting on the 407k since Shot Show, preorderd the day OP put on website and still anxiously awaiting.
@@RidersRange I'm super interested in that. I ended up getting an adapter plate and put the 507c on my p365 XL instead. That's because everywhere I looked said I'd be waiting 3 months to get my hands on a 507k. It's not that much bigger and I like it. I have just over 500 rounds on it. I still want to switch back over when I get the chance to purchase a 507k.
Well shit, I just asked another commenter that very question, just bought 365 xl today. Picked it up, felt right in the hand . Was smoking over a dot sight option
Never liked optics on my Glock because I just can’t pick them up, so it’s slower. However this 507k, although it is smaller, fixes that. I find the dot each and every time without changing my presentation at all. Thanks for the review. This is the one and only red dot for me.
The answer isn't irons, it's train with the dot. Irons are slower to acquire than nothing, but we trained with them. If you can't find the dot train it.
Emmanuel Goldstein the slide is to narrow and you need to use a 1911 plate in order for it to work. This will avoid that problem and allow the optic to sit lower.
Just found this review. Great job brother! I use the 507 for work so was wondering about this for my Hellcat Pro for concealed carry. Great testing procedure imo. Thanks again brother. Stay safe!
Thanks for the review. I just ordered one to replace my Shield on my G48. At the time it was the only option that an old man had to put red dots on both my G43 and 48.
I’ve been looking for something to replace the Shield RMSc that came with my M&P 45 Shield, since I had to send it back to the UK because the lens was totally scratched. If this has the same footprint then I’m going to pick one up for sure. Thanks for this no BS review.
My only suggestion would be to consider the 407K if you don't want/need the circle-dot reticle, and are willing to accept a 6-MOA dot instead of the 2-MOA on the 507K. The 407K is about $80 cheaper and is functionally and size-wise the same as the 507K, just with a 6-MOA dot only.
I haven't gotten into RDS yet, but pairing this Holosun 507K with a 365XL, extended mags, and TLR8AG or PLMini 2, rail adapter, seems like a very successful easy to carry combo....that's a lot to save up for.
Glad I found this video! I'm dropping my g19 slide off at Jagerwerks Monday morning and having it cut for the 507k. I was going to go with the 507c, but I like the profile of the k better, and I can still use the aftermarket sights I already have. Plus the 507k shares the eps footprint if I ever decide to go that route.
The Sig P365XL is an example of a gun that doesn't have a rear sight when the optic mounting plate is removed. It's already cut for the 507K, so the crude rear sight included with the 507K is a nice feature for this gun.
LOL! Mine made it onto my P365XL and a crude sighting in and seemed fine. Due to crap weather this winter I decided to carry something else in the pocket of my heavy coat. Last Friday I finally got nice enough weather and had nothing else going on so I’m loading up to go to the range and, in the transfer from the gun bag I put it in about 6 weeks before hoping good weather was around the corner to the big range bag it slipped out and fell onto the dining room table. Then to the floor. And that’s what Aaron is talking about when he says anything can happen. When I got to the range I had no reticle. Brought it home and got a new battery over the weekend and…still no red light. Now we’ll find out how good the warranty is. I’m sure it will be fine.
OMG, I've been hesitant to get my 43x milled for an optic cut... was thinking Suarez, but no military discount... Thanks for this review and the tip on Agency Arms for slide work.
I went with the 407K on the Canik elite sc. Only difference is that the 407 is dot only which is my preference. Thanks for turning me onto optics, it's been a game changer 👍👏
@@Cordova10-8 The 407's have 2, 3 and 6 MOA dots. Mine is the 2 MOA 👍 Also can get green or red dot. Only difference from the 507 is there is Only the dot.
The rear notch is likely targeted at the Sig P365XL, which losesw it's rear sight when the red dot is installed. Note that the Romeo Zero also has the notch for that reason. Good review as always. Cheers, Tony
The circle dot reticle also helps those of us in mitigating some of the issues that arise from astigmatism. A plain red dot appears as several dots to my eye, where the circle dot shows up normally and crisp.
i love looking at the wood post he uses. you can see how chewed up it is from all of his testing haha. But, I have this sight on my P320 XFive Legion and i LOVE it!
Aaron, I would appreciate hearing your assessment of the Shield Arms S15 magazines. It appears you have used them fairly extensively in testing this optic and likely in further applications of the G48. Specifically, aside from basic functionality and reliability, what have you done to address the material mismatch of steel magazines with a polymer OEM magazine catch? Have you switched to an aftermarket steel or aluminum catch? If so, have you continued to use the OEM magazines and seen excessive wear? Have you abandoned the OEM magazines altogether? If you've left the OEM magazine catch, what have you experienced in terms of damage to the magazine catch? You likely have the most consistent, transparent, and well-described testing regimen amongst the youtube firearms community, and I am sure that many would appreciate seeing your robust method of experimentation applied to this relatively new piece of equipment.
Hi Aaron, forgive me if this is answered somewhere else. The fiber optic front sight in combination with the red dot, an advantage or a distraction? Debating what backup suppressor height sights to use, all black or fiber front. I'd like to also pose the same question for tritium sights in combination with the red dot at night advantage or distraction? Thank you in advance.
The Glock 48 finally gives me some flexibility on how much finger I put on the trigger. Now it looks like there’s a HoloSun in my future Now I just need a Mag well funnel as there is a tendency to “snag” the Mags on the reload with the mag well being so much smaller than the 19.
Which would you recommend for someone just starting red dots on pistols, the 507C X2 or the 507K??? I just bought the MR920. Absolutely love it. looking for an optic.
