Hey Nate. Thanks for the comment. It is not a great video until I have heard from you I wonder where the Agri dome is. Have not heard from him in a while?? I hope he is still watching.
At dairys, some newborn calves are sold the first 2-5 days. They started out pretty hungry, we fed 1 out, acted as if starving but he's doing great & gaining now. We feed 3# of mixed grain w Timothy & alfalfa (4flakes) gaining well. Happy with the cross & will buy another next time
Timed that right. Prices are stronger now then when this guy bought them. We raise our crosses to 600 pounds and sell them. Been a good go this past year.
The whole beef system is skinny. Especially with high corn prices. I left my feedlot empty this year as hard to pencil with expensive corn. And there is a lot of work to a feedlot. Hard when you do all the work and barely break even or worse
@@soybeanman9439 had an apprenticeship as a farmer before I studied law. Worst decision of my life (law). Am practicing ag law now, been almost 30 years. Still crying my eyes out for a cattle farm. Won’t happen. Maybe next life.
Great to see someone on the channel from so far away. If you are ever in Southern Ontario Canada. Look me up. We can see lots of cattle. I love cattle as well
@@soybeanman9439 I always watch the work of fellow cattlemen and women around the globe. Unfortunately the global south is underrepresented due to internet access and all, I suppose. Well, the US and Canada are on my wishlist, so if I don’t cra* out before, prepared for an unpleasant surprise.
