This song gets me everytime. I lost my mom to an overdose a couple of months ago, always struggled with her through my childhood. Im a mom to 2 beautiful boys and it hurts even more bc i can not ever picture hurting them like she did me.

I can say this was my anthem for years. I went deep into addiction. But clawed myself out, got a degree, got a good job, moved back to my home state... But my dad still didn't talk to me for 3 more years.... The song felt real while I was struggling. And had a deeper meaning after I was done but he was still watching me burn/drown.
