My holy grail brushes are Shiseido polishing face brush, Sonia G Jumbo base, Charlotte Tilbury bronzer & blusher brush, BK x Angie Hot & Flashy A507, Sonia G soft cheek, Sephora Pro #57, Sonia G crease pro, and Rephr #13,14,15 🎉
I was just reviewing your older videos on brushes as I round out my collection - this couldn’t come at a better time! Thank you for all you do - you are my brush guru (I have only gone Sonia G and Rephr - I haven’t delved into the others as I know me and I would need a second job to support THAT habit!). The great thing you do is talk about why you like it, how you use it, and demo it. Helps us who might not pick up the exact brush, but helps us determine the one best for us. Much appreciation!
Fude brushes changed my makeup game for sure, absolutely love my Rephr brushes especially the eye brushes my eyeshadow has never looked better, Sonia G brushes are fantastic her fusion and Lotus sets are my fave, Chikuhodo GSN series another fantastic set. Great video love the new intro 👌 🙌
Love love love this video, I’m shopping for makeup brushes and was so confused on what to buy, you explain this stuff beautifully, thanks for great advice
I’m SO here for this. I’m makeup brush OBSESSED. Nothing more satisfying than a good brush. (BTW…I will admit that most of my favorites are expensive, but 2 of them I got together from Shein for $1 for the pair.)
My favorite brushes are the Hakuhodo goat and squirrel mix hair. I own many Fude brushes but the Hakuhodo goat and squirrel mix are my holy grail. You should try them. Love brushes videos 😀
I LOVE the slightly-awkward-but-hilarious gradual getting-closer-to-the-camera movement and out of nowhere… “Hi, frenzzz!” 😂 I love your humor!! But your content and the way you explain everything and go into detail, your passion for subjects and overall positive energy is also beautiful! Love your channel 💕
Just ordered the Rephr 27 and 01 brushes (BOGO!). Appreciate your reviews Alicia! The brushes look easy and non-fussy to use, which is what I want. I only wear very simple one (or 2) and done looks. Also trying the rebalancing essence from Rephr so I could get free shipping. Have a great Labor Day!
Hi Alicia! Yes! Ive been waiting for a fude brush video from you :) i do have the Koyudo Makie Red squirrel L face brush and cheek brush and they agree that its one of the softest; because of this i cant get too much use out of it! I find it clumping up when i use it to set and my face is still a bit tacky from the base products. My absolute favorite is koyudo’s white canadian squirrel and takeda’s canadian, fox, and kolinsky!
my fav topic :). my problem with Fude is i love almost everything. Choosing is hard and I flip from month to month what my faves are. off the top of my head to name a few, Sonia G everything, Rephr #3, 24 & 23, Wayne Goss airbrush, 2, 5 & 6 Blue Squirrel, Koyudo Kakishibuzome eye brushes, Yoshiki Tanuki series, Yoshiki Goat set. Chikuhodo rc2, GSN-9, Z9, Z4, FO series + all the Kazan. Hakuhodo Kazan eye brushes. Houkodou Canadian squirrel eye brushes, Surratt Sculpt brush and the Large Canadian Squirrel eye brush, and complexion brush.
Hi Alicia, new intro is fab and really enjoy these HG videos you have posted. I don’t own or need a lot of makeup so when o do buy something I want it to be the very best. My question, so for cream blush and bronzer your HG brush is also Sonia G Classic base? Thank you friend!
You got me into Rephr and I'm so grateful. I don't yet have the funds for more expensive fude, but Sonia G is definitely on my wish list. Also the Rephr brush cleaner is my holy grail to clean and condition natural bristles. Not great on synthetic though, as the conditioning agents feel weird, not sure about synthetic blends either. It's seriously like no other and worth the coin. A little goes a really long way and it's so effective at cleaning. I also use Eco Tools brush cleaner for my synthetic brushes and it's the best I've found so far.
Thank you for watching! Yes, probably since the synthetic fibers already have a coating that a slightly more sudsy cleanser is more appropriate. I go between the Rephr and Hakuhodo soap for my natural hair brushes.
Thank you thank you thank you!! Love the explanation and how you use each one. Brushes are an investment, and you have given me the confidence to make certain purchases. 😊
Another great video! First and foremost, I credit you and Michelle Wang for opening my eyes to the benefits of using natural hair brushes. I’m still learning and practicing, but my favorites so far are: Sonia G’s Jumbo Base and Jumbo Concealer brushes, BK Beauty’s 101 foundation brush, IT Cosmetics’ contour brush, Rephr 3, 12 ,16, 23 & 29, Sonia G classic base for cream blush, Rephr’s fan brush for highlighter, and Hourglass’ veil powder brush. My favorite brush of all happens to be for powder bronzer and blush. It’s Sonia G’s Niji Pro.
Ooooo the Niji Pro is an exquisite piece 😍 And BK Beauty’s 101 is one of my fav foundation brushes for sure. I probably have a 10 favs in each category 🤣
Hello. I've recently found Chinese red squirrel and I'm in love. Have at least 5 in my collection now. I'm sure they're much less expensive from china. Recently purchased some red fox......waiting on their arrival...they're some of the most expensive I have found hoping I like them lol. I also just got a Canadian white squirrel cheek brush from cdjapan.. can't wait to try!!!
I have Rephr 3, 23 & 26 which are clutch! 🙌🏾🖤 I also love fluffy shaders; I have small hooded (uncircumsized 🤣) lids & fluffy blenders don't do it for me re: adequate crease color. Fluffy shaders deposit adequate color in my crease's skin folds and doesn't buff it away as I blend. Fluffy shaders are also 🔥 for all-over lid color. Rephr 26 also works well for applying color in my crease. The pointed tip allows me to stick the brush right in my socket and apply color. 🖌🎨
Yes to the fluffy shaders! For all the reasons you outlined why I feel it’s such an underdog. I love my blenders BUT I can’t get away with as many tasks with a blender like I can with a fluffy shader 🤌🏽
I live this kind a videos so we can purchase the best of the best Let’s see what’s here Yay Sonia G classic base(I own it)🙌🏼👏 Jumbo concealer (I own it)🙌🏼👏 The lotus and fusion series are the best Rephr brushes are amazing for Pat McGrath palettes My favs face brushes are hakuhodo G5700 B507 G5544 G5545 B5521 G6530 Eyes G5522 G5523N
Love this video, Alicia. Thank you😘. Can you make a video on favorite fude brush for traveling? I think we want to have good brush experience when traveling without carrying the regular (long) brushes.
Always love to hear about your brush obsessions! I've got to agree on the Sonia G classic base over jumbo base in terms of versatility. I have been on holiday most of the summer and have gotten to rediscover some of my lightest weight brushes, and even now I'm back I can't stop using them. My essentials have been Koyudo fu-pa 08, Sonia G keyaki mini base and Surratt perfectionniste complexion brush. Also the Koyudo Yoshiki powder brush and Sonia G keyaki classic face for powder products. And the best eye liner brush ever, Mizuho MB133! I also bought the lovely sculpting brush from Surratt in London this summer and it has been treating me very well. It has density from the goat but the softness of squirrel. Match made in heaven
I understand that the material matters and i love your content on brushes because it is very educative for me as a beginner and i dont want to sound stupid but can you explain how the natural hairs for these brushes are procured? I mean i could imagine shaving goat hair regularly for the hair like we do with wool from sheep but blue or red squirrels?do they die or how do we get them?
Hi there, I was wondering if you had anything in your fude collection that has the shape and performance of the BK beauty 205 brush but with natural hairs? I love that little eye brush for it’s shape but I feel like a the natural hairs would do a better job at product pick up and lay down.
Sonia G travel sets! 🥰 I am itching to sew a brush roll for them 😩 I have a beautiful green leather, but I don't want to mess it up. I could make a mock-up with vinyl... 😬 I'm scared.
@@aliciaarcher I think that's what I will do. I've never sewn anything as thick as leather. 😳 Most of what I buy for my sewing projects is "deadstock fabric" basically leftovers from textile companies and clothing brands that would otherwise go to landfills. So these companies "reduce waste and pollution" by selling the raw goods. Whenever I see leather I scoop it up. Sometimes I find gorgeous designer leathers and fabrics 💞 I'm like I can't afford the brand but I can make something like it! I can't make brushes though... or can I? Come here and let me brush you! 🪥+🐿 👩🏽🦽🪵+🪓
