I started to play this game in Shadowlands and chose hpal as my main. Having someone like you to learn from is a cheat code for this spec and made my life so much easier. Lots of love and appreciation!!
What a succinct guide, thank you for this. A lot of videos end up being word salads; this one is straight to the point. Very useful for me as I dust of my holy pal that I have not played since vanilla launch.
Your website is amazing and I love your RU-vid content as well. I’m Maining HPal for the first time in Retail in S1, so will be a regular consumer of your content no doubt!
Tempted to play HPal again since I left it behind after SL (I didn't like to be dependent to Glimmer that much), now after seeing your video (like I always did when I used to play HPal), I'm convinced again :) thanks as always for the content and the detailed explanations and feedbacks, you are and always will be my go to expert for Pally!!! Keep it up!
Thank you very much for this quality video guide with a very well designed site. Your advice will help me a lot to progress and have fun in the game. Thanks again!!
Ellesmere thank you time and time again for being the go to resource for hpal guides. Vacation led me to not be able to get started on TWW till tonight but I can't wait to get in there and play. I'll be sending you a sub and donation for all your hard work tonight if you're on twitch.
1) Veneration vs Inflorescence - I would think the extra IoLs would be a big deal for how often we throw Judgment, plus the CD reduction on HS. And HoW is so low on our spell priority. For M+, can you help me understand your decision here? 2) Prism vs Barrier - I've found throwing a barrier on the tank and then DTing the group, plus machine gun HSs is pretty solid in saving a group, and getting a solid shield on the tank. Prism just feels so week to me. Maybe I'm doing something wrong here? I was surprised to see your choice where for M+, and would love to understand your decision more. Thank you again for your thorough and selfless efforts to be a pillar of the HPal community! You da man!
Veneration OWNS in 5 Man and i’m so mad i was using cookie cutter wowhead build which doesn’t take it. Prism is just simply by far more efficient healing and brings damage. It’s even way better with the upcoming tuning as well for boss damage.
My master, the legend... THANKS A LOT for this video! It explains everything a hpala needs to know!!! (just a stilly question here: how to do damage with hpala?)
Just a note on Light of the Martyr talent, if you plan on creating a new char and then dungeon levelling from 1-80 again (as I did so I could learn the class). Then your healing absorb from Light of the Martyr will almost always be your entire health pool if you are healing higher level party members in dungeon. E.g. if you are level 30 and your tank is level 50, your holy shock will heal them for a massive amount as a result of the scaling, meaning you will then get 30% of the amount healed after scaling and not 30% of what the healing would do to a character the same level as you. In my opinion, I would skip this talent until you are much higher level so you don't end up with a 10k absorb on yourself when you have a 3k health pool.
wonderfull guide it is even wonderfull because i will main Hpal this expansion, it is sharp concise and complete at the same time, astonishing, we all love you !!! I have a question for you ELLESMERE: what do you think of the passive Unending Light for raid purpose that talent give us the possibility to cast monster single target spender as word of glory????? or did someone try it here? ( sorry if my english seem awkward, i am french)
Great video thanks for the upload. If I am aiming for title range do you think hpal is a good pick? I am experienced with hpal but not so much with evoker and shaman. Would you say that the upperhand of those are big enough to justify learning a new spec or hpal is good enough?
I mained a resto shaman for a few years now. Wanted to give Hpal a try. Raided last night and it just felt so clunky. I heard recently that light of the martyr shouldn't be taken anymore, but I'm not sure. It felt a little better when I had it. Thoughts on this?
Light of the martyr is a trap early on. good luck staying over 70% hp with all the aoe dmg going on right now. When massive aoe dmg comes out and you really need that extra healing Light of the martyr is a dead talent unless you heal yourself first to 70%. But if you can keep yourself above 70% its a great talent. But early on with low haste and crit... Good Luck.
holy paladin looked great but the many nerfs too it kinda took me off it, is it still worth considering even after the nerfs and if lightsmith has to be playled in very high keys ?
I raided last night on normal.. my goodness i was behind every healer for the most aprt. Was a 25 man sized raid group. Thoughts? Am i playing it wrong?
Righteous Judgment Consecrate doesn't replace your personal consecrate, it's additional (so you can have your own consecrate down + the righteous judgment proc'd consecate)
Question about blessing of summer: should we use it on CD nomatter the situation or actually hold when we get to the damage one for a good pack or boss?
Everyone is saying Mastery to be priority stat with the new Beacon of the Lightbringer Talent? Is it Crit or Mastry? And is the stats priority the same for PvP?
Am I missing something with herald? I played Hpal after getting my Hpriest to 585 and hearld just feels really weak to me. My holy bulwark from light smith is doing 60-90 million healing a dungeon by just putting it on the tank and sacred weapon is doing about 30 million damage for me. I get on hearld and I feel like the damage just feels clunkier to me not sure why.
I could also be spoiled from holy priest. I get on my full plate battle healer paladin and I hit for like 200ks meanwhile my hpriest is using holy fire for 800k on a mob while cleaving for 300-400k and it makes me sad.
@@Devonwilliams-zd1kc yea its like holy pal = blow my cds perfectly the entire dungeon do no damage. Holy priest just Holy fire the entire dungeon nothing else and im parsing haha.
Nice vid, and I agree with most of what you say, you have vast more exp then me as well as reps. I think you mis spoke saying at the end of your video that holy shock is the best its ever been damage wise...(healing wise yes most likely but damage wise??) did you mean to say this? the mana use for using HS offensively is criminal and should be very low if not free like some other healing classes, and if its going to cost us that much mana the damage needs to be amped up alot like x2. With the removal of glimmer of light we actually lost dmg output of HS offensively and all our talents with the exception of reclamation dont buff our HS damage output, they should but they dont. so I disagree with you on this point, if they changed all talents that help/buff HS healing to buff damage to it would help a lot. you cant argue the damage output vs mana cost its insane atm. Also they have nerfed Holy light by 28% since beta started and left its mana cost at 160K this is also criminal, it needs to come back to 120k at least, I'm worried that Holy light is now way under powered for its cost, and that if you dont have infusion proc plus divine favour or hand of divinity, its through put is terrible compared to were it was. we dont want a repeat of what Holy light was in DF. cheers
Hey, ı am new to Holy paladin. I cant find word of glory talent. Can someone help me out pls? Ellsmere constantly says word of glory and light of dawn. I know what light of dawn is but ı cant find word glory. I am about to go crazy...
Word of Glory is replaced by Eternal Flame if you have the hero talent Herald of the Sun, so that's probably what you're missing! Any time I reference Word of Glory, just think Eternal Flame instead :)
Can someone upload a video of a holy paladin actually healing in dungeons? Main tank has 6 million hp, holy light (1,8 sec cast) heals about 120 k. Nice. I think my strongest heal (the one that consumes 3 holy power) heals about 330 k. I need 4,5 seconds of global cooldown to generate that much holy power. A warrior can actually heal himself more than I can heal him.
