That first episode was such a breathe of fresh air. Genuine contender for anime of the season if it keeps up this quality. I also love how weirdly realistic the work life was depicted and yes I predicted that his office crush was getting her back blown out by the boss. It's weirdly dark but comedic at the same time, even down the rainbow coloured blood.

Mind blowing first episode! They managed to make a F**KING ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE look like a scape from reality instead of the end of everything you know and love. It’s especially genius how they directed this entire episode,the moment he realized he had to do a all-nighter first day the colors of the anime dimmed down more and more and they only start to come back as we see the very first zombie,then if fully comes back when he sees the CHAOS that is outside. Sad that his crush died tho…I wonder if she’ll appear again and he’ll have to put her down,essentially killing every connection he had to his previous life.

Yeah it's really sad that there's actually a term in Japan for "overworking to death" or "Karoshi". And the fact that so many isekai have people dying from it to get reincarnated. This episode was awesome. For some reason I didn't know the 100 was a bucketlist and it was more like "MOB Psycho 100". I've been ruined by watching anime lol. But the end scene of him cheering himself up and grabbing a pen and a pad to write down what he can finally do now was so uplifting and changed the gloomy tone from both overworking and the apocalypse going on around him.

I was half expecting him to at the very least talk to his crush while she was still sane, but oh well. This and the one with the talking severed head are probably my favorite new anime this season. Random thought: I wonder how many times (if at all) the staff had to pull all nighters on an anime critiquing pulling all nighters😅

Bug films is the studio which was part of animation of komi can't communicate and summer time rendering, as expected animation was top notch. Saori ohitori i see that name The anime is giving me vibes of parasyte. It was funny ]when started playing ruby with the zombies. Also this gave the most accurate depiction of Japanese work culture I've seen in modern anime in the best possible way. I can't wait for the next episode, what an absolutely gripping hook.

Having been myself a corporate zombie on customer support, this ironic zombie apocalypse hits somewhat hard. From the quiet, day to day zombie outbreak as he himself gets zombified with toxic corporate culture, to the literal run-for-your-life zombie apocalypse. Those long hours really make you wish for the apocalypse. Now, to see how many things he can tick off his list this season... and then, to the source material! I was honestly going to let this one pass, since I'm not that much of a fan of -corporate- zombie apocalypses, but it does look rather promising.

This show took me through a Rollercoaster of emotions in just one episode. From feeling dread when I related to him at work, to the feeling of excitement when shit started hitting the fan, to heartbreak when he saw the girl he'd been crushing over for years become a zombie. Also just feeling bad about her whole situation. I mean that girl looked like she had a whole story of her own happening in the background. Which is amazing for an anime to make you feel just from one episode

I agree with the options of why this show is great. But I personally started to tear up at the workplace romance, cause my first “real” job I had a huge crush on someone only to find her after hours kissing another co-worker who was known for messing with women’s hearts. Like damn it if I really didn’t start to tear up because I know that heartbreak so well.. 😢😂 But that’s the past. Lol

This was a banger episode 1, it had me hooked even before the Zombie reveal but it somehow got me hooked once again after it and ONCE AGAIN after he quit his job! Animation, direction, music, voice acting were all beyond amazing, especially MC's VA who did a perfect job with depicting Tendou's spiral from excited new worker on day 1 to corporate zombie 3 years later!

Brilliant first ep!! Honestly I didn't expect much before watching, like, yeah some zombie action, but the first half of the ep, when he slowly died inside, day after day, until he started to contemplate suicide had me completely glued to my seat, coz it all made him super relatable. Then when he screamed with joy while being chased by a bunch of very hungry zombies I knew I was hooked!! That scene was HILARIOUS omg (but also, kinda tragic). Can't wait for more.

surprising anime - black & white start reminds of night of the living dead. when i was young, i worked for garment firm in nyc. When the spring and fall line came out, i worked every thursday an all-nighter (36 street hours) for 3 months. late teens - early twenties.

One important thing to remember just as this is not just about the anime industry. This is not about just Japan as this is a thing in other parts of Asia like South Korea. And parts of China as well, where people are expected to put their work life above all other things. I mean in South Korea it also is important for which company you work for. As Samsung is seen as the most desirable followed by LG and other big giants. And if you can not get a job in those companies and instead have to work in a smaller more local company. It’s considered a shame as that means you where not good enough as a worker to get one of those jobs. So TDLR it’s a problem in several parts of Asian that would needs fixing

Now this was an absolutely fantastic episode. Out of everything new that's airing this has to be the best one by far. Even the continuing series like JJK, Bleach and Mushoku may not be the outright anime of the season with this airing atm. The art, the animation, the colouring and the direction were all top notch. I sympathize with our main character. Imagine being so happy that you got to work in a good company, you meet your coworkers and you have a great first day and an after-party welcoming you and then it flips. They flipped the switch and said welp time for another all nighter. You know his life would never be the same. I really love how this episode shows how ruthless and exploitative the Japanese culture is. You have off days and you can take vacations but no one does it because the team would suffer. You can't quit because then the team would get overworked and he wouldn't have the time to even look for another line of work. The fact he tried to put on a brave face and take it as he knew it can be worse is so disheartening. No wonder people get depressed and have suicidal thoughts when your life is this screwed. Even the girl he liked was just a side chick that the boss would use for his own needs. His life really did suck until the apocalypse happened. And I loved how they used monochrome with the zombies being in a bit of colour as he ran for his life loving the fact he didn't have to go to work anymore. This is just an interesting premise that I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes as it has a lot of potential. Let's see what his bucket list is gonna be because I'm curious to find out.

One thing i wish happened... i wish with the last bit of her sanity she let out a smile or shed a tear right before turning into full zombie. It would've made it that much more painful, yet amazing 🤤 the transition from her human to zombie self was dope but i think it'd hit harder showing her in reality switching from sane to zombie.

So far from this season I've checked out JJK season 2, remake of Rurouni Kenshin, Zom 100, Bleach TYBW part 2 and still didn't watch S2E1 of Mushoku Tensei. This season is really stacked, man! Around the end of last year and first quarter of this year I've hit the lowest I've ever been in life, but ngl - stuff like this actually makes me appreciative of life again. This season, VS S2 which tackled some of my issues in life as well, Baldur's Gate 3 coming out soon, a DLC to CyberPunk 2077, Starfield, new interesting mangas like Doretry and Martial Master Asumi coming out recently too. . . I don't believe in anything IRL - no religion, no particular philosophy and no destiny as well, but I really feel like I've been given the best set of circumstances to get my life together and try again. Sorry for venting, but I've been actually feeling happy those last few weeks and it continues :')

This episode exceeded my expectations. I remember a famous anime RU-vidr recommending this manga and it story a few years ago. So good that it got an anime then. Also got to say that the way they did portray zombies here reminded me of how George A. Romero did use zombies to critique our consumerism. He is basically the grandfather of our zombie culture so this is a great feat to be compared to him. Likewise it also reminded me about Shaun of the Dead. Where they also had a similar premise as the protagonist life did feel more like that of a zombie then a human. So this is what I loved the most about the episode. And even did our weight the fact that I didn’t like the type of zombies they used here. As I’m a sucker for those more classic versions of zombies.

What an amazing episode, both in term of production value and also because it is so painfully relatable to awful working conditions in japan for any office work stuff and for the whole world too. Overwork felt so real with them playing on the colors, the stress at job, those who are exploited or favorited (I instantly knew the girl would die the second I saw her and I knew right when the MC got cut saying "thank you" that she would be abused by her boss lol (amazing directing)). I felt it even more because 2 days ago I finally succeeded in my exams to become a fitness coach (yay !) after a year and the last 2 months full of stress about my future with stomachache, difficulties to eat and enjoying fully what I eat/watch animes etc... I was afraid it would be the end if I failed. My biggest goal in life was to be my own boss as I spent like 10+ years (im 32) studying and getting overworked on multiple different jobs, yelled at, ordered arround, pressure to meat deadlines(tho let's not forget in japan like the animation industry they working condition are much much worse as the anime showed us the reality of it). And even when I always was one of the best employee I was always held down on opportunities/promotions because of several things (one time I was given lot of responsabilities then got denied because another worker who worked longer there was jealous). Anyway just 3 days ago I felt a rush of happiness of knowing that now my future would be in my hands and it kinda felt like the second part of the episode where the mc realized that the world is truly "full of color" after opening his eyes after having dealt with the employee's work pressure for years like I did. So its really personally relatable for me as well. It may sound stupid but you know I've been following you and watching your vids/ being active here for a long time and been enjoying theses videos as a "cooldown and sharing of thoughts" after each episode. But now that my "vision" has cleared 3 days ago I'm enjoying it even more (I'm enjoying everything like a retard now) like a veil has been lifted, thanks for the review ! ps: I recommend Ai no Idenshi. Shit got me by surprise you can feel the madhouse trademark of mystery/strange intellectual shows like part of Boogiepop & Sonny boy fused with Vivy fluorite song (aint gonna spoil more) I wanted to never watch it but I had time to kill and decided to watch it on a whim, I'm so lucky I didn't ! I got hooked after a few min by the storytelling. Ur choice to watch it or not ofc but It deserved a quick heads up on my part I think.

I had high hopes after seeing the trailer and episode 1 did not disappoint! The absence of sound and color really hit hard when contrasted with the sound of chaos and the full palette of colors. Dunno what it is this season but Zom and JJK really had amazing sound design in the first episodes. Hope it can be sustained!

This show has been hyped up for a long while now, like I remember videos being made on the manga a while back so I knew an anime adaptation was inevitable and soon. Now that it’s here I can see why it’s been hyped up as much as it was. Is it bad I like it because it reminds me of High School of the Dead though? Regardless of that this would definitely be my favorite show on Sundays if Jobless Reincarnation wasn’t also airing.

Now you don't see how it took a social norm from a society that has a major problem, and its called time off from work. Now the way that the animators have written it, it really makes total sense. Think about it. You're working for a society that really frowns upon individuals that take time off due to a multitude of reasons. The most common of all reasons is, being overworked, and working in an environment that is very very hostile. Unfortunately the only way to cure that problem, let alone try and minimize it as much as you can is, energy drinks, coffee pills, cat naps while at work, any instant meals and/or snacks. After 3 years of repetitive bullshit on an every day basis, you finally receive the one day that you can officially say that, "The Gods of Vacation has sent a miracle!!" A massive zombie apocalypse has begun. The transition from workplace slave to mindless zombie is a perfect reason to say, "The hell with social norms, I QUIT!!", as well as, "I have things to do before I die." I love it, and I'm looking forward to what the MC is going to do next on his makeshift bucket list, Other than openly expressing to his first love, his feelings, and telling his former boss to literally and physically to screw himself, and then making sure that his boss performs a face plant to the pavement. I've never watched Zombie Apocalypse type Anime before and the 1st one didn't disappointed me at all 😎 It is really horrible that Japan' work industry is literally suck out every last bit of life from most of the workers 😔 It is quite surprising than it is the 1st Anime than BUG FILMS is producing 😳 Such a good quality production! I am all fired up to see more of this amazing Zombie show 🔥

It's insane how fresh this anime actually looks when you see so many generic stuff every season. Especially when there's barely any zombie with an apocalyptic world type of anime.. Not a fan of those splash colors but everything else looks crisp.

For me this only a technical spectacle. The message is there but for me its whatever, main character isn't all the interesting, asides for being relatable to being overworked.
