Let the Fox X-Men die, please. It was a mess beyond repair. I get bringing over Jackman as Wolverine due to his popularity, but bringing Stewart back as Professor X again is becoming less likely the longer this takes. He's getting old and frail. Start fresh and build off of 97.
I pray marvel does NOT do Avengers vs X-Men. That storyline absolutely destroyed the character of cyclops. It was the same deconstructionist garbage we got in the Snyderverse with Superman and in the Last Jedi with Luke Skywalker. Postmodernism is cancer in pop culture and it needs to be cured.
What? No, his story was great. AvX was a bad story, but Cyclops' character wasn't the issue. What happened in AvX didn't occur over night, it was over a decade of him going further and further into a darker place, and developing his more militant nature because of being betrayed by those he once trusted the most, mutants being put on the back foot, being possessed by Apocalypse, and desperation rising in order to restore the mutant population. It's nowhere near the same as Snyder's job on Superman or Disney Wars butchering of Luke. If they were to adapt Cyclops' story properly, then it would be a like a 10 movie type of deal.
I just want Gambit included in the coming live action X-men movies. It's fkn time. I also hope we get a different Rogue, that has Ms. Marvel's powers, or at least I wanna see that happening in case she doesn't have her powers from the start
Gambit always been one of my favorites, he definitely needs his screen time, the wolverine movie they had Gambit in, I didn't care for to much, but Gambit most definitely needs to be involved.
Live action X-men 97 makes sense. Variant universe from live action AND animated, but taking cues from all of them. The universe as it would have been run had Fegie been given the reins to a connected universe in 2006; but set now.. This lets us get additional alternative Avengers actors again as well, and could bring in the other heroes (Cage, Maguire, Gruford, Alba, [maybe Cruise] etc) that would have been in a Fegie lead Fox/Sony shared universe. At a minimum, mentions of teams and photos of actors, if not full cameos. Jensen Ackles as Cap would be very fun.
So here's what you do... You make an X-Men movie before secret wars using the fox X-Men and build them up and then in secret wars you kill em off and at the end of secret wars ( either movie or post credit scene) you bring in the new X-Men and that's the start of the new saga. I'm good with this
I think Josh is SPOT on with how this is gonna go down. Minus this Logan being from the same universe as Beast.. bc otherwise how did Logan fail his universe? The seeds with how Monica ended up in that "near universe" and how thats the one to collide with ours.... spot on.
With the Fox X-Men I feel like the past should die. This is the group that brought us Last Stand. But if they get folded into a multi-movie battle world saga, I could get into that.
I think the past does die in secret wars, maybe some before even but the originals will die cuz they are rebooting it after secret wars pt 1 and 2 or however it's gonna be titled. Wouldn't make sense to keep them around when youve literally introduced a multiverse with countless variants. Definitely wanna kill the X-Men for reboot/recast and it will be super impactful on the audience whom will remember these characters and then see them die after finally seeing them all on screen together again, what better way to twist it then to first have this nostalgic moment only to be followed up with Rated R death scenes.
I kind of wanted kang to go back in time and freeze time before the snap and tell tony if he joins him he will return him to life with his family without letting him die. Same with Thor during Ragnorock, black widow and Hawkeye when they are fighting for the soul stone and Captain america when he is returning the stones. The original Avengers with all the kangs and some villians against the new avengers, F-4, some villains and the X-men. Have the OG avengers kick their ass until they switch sides and take all the kangs by surprise. Or have the Kangs get the Avengers, F-4 and Xmen to work with him or die. Then have loki get the OG avengers to help bring them down along with several heros from other universes. We could have Old Avengers vs new, d F-4 vs new, old Xmen vs new.
I liked James marsden as cyclops, but they definitely haven't given cyclops his flowers. He basically was the lead of the X-Men far as I can remember, been a long time since I've watched the cartoons or read any comics but cyclops is no pushover and I agree he wasn't handled well. He's much tougher than they showed
Correction, these are awful, terrible, lazy and cheap ways to half ass the X-Men into the MCU. All because you people want the Multiverse Saga to mean something or because you can’t sit through 10 minutes of explanation as to why we haven’t seen the X-Men yet. Lazy shit like this is why the MCU sucks now.
C'mon Josh, hype does nothing when the studio doesn't execute. Everybody and their grandmom knows fans want to see the X-Men in the MCU and Disney has failed to deliver. And why do they need a pitch for a movie when Marvel has decades of stories they can draw from. Pure absurdity.
They need a pitch because you can’t just turn a comic book into a movie word for word. I mean, you technically could, but there’s a very good reason no major studio has done it yet. The mediums are vastly different and the audiences’ sensibilities are also vastly different. It would not work. They can use the comics as a stepping off point, and they almost always do, but you can’t just adapt a comic book in the same way you adapt a book.
@@stopculture If you are selling a cinematic universe based on comic books then you have the stories already to work from. It is just a decision which ones you want to do because those stories require multiple movies in order to do correctly. And that is where the MCU is more like comics because you aren't simply doing individual one off movies, but a whole collection of movies telling a larger story, which is like comic books. That doesn't happen without knowing up front generally where the story is going and what you want to do. And yes, within that set of outlines someone can make a pitch. Something like how introducing the X-Men is a major story and narrative development that requires more than a simple pitch for a single movie. That makes no sense. And no, people don't want to see a brand new X-Men story from scratch. They want the X-Men stories and characters from the comics, even if they aren't word for word the same.
They're trying to make a proper X-Men with the OGs at least once. The old movies haven't aged well and many opportunities were missed. Personally, I would have let Endgame be the end of the Avengers and then built a whole new saga with X-Men. But I can appreciate them wanting to make a smooth transition
@@Chrismw81 Nah man what are you saying. There's literally so much to do with the Avengers. U can't really ever retire that franchise. Coz anyone can be an Avenger. It's an emotion. That's all is required.
I don’t think he wrote xmen 97…I think he simply did what Feige does…I’m seeing different writers are writing different episodes of the show…but he generally has the final say.
So what you’re saying is they’re going to focus on the B and the C team? Don’t worry I’m sure that they’re using wolverine and Deadpool to get us all jacked up and then they’re going to flip us the bird in the next movie.
They should bring back RDJ as iron man and make him the big bad and no one can stop him, so they have to get OG Captain fucking America and the X-men to stop him!!
They can take it one step further and make him superior Ironman who has I think 2-3 infinity stones and also has an Ultron army, superior Ironman could definitely be a main villain, with the Ultron army, the adamantium armor and infinity stones with variants of villains or even heroes by his side.
@@dlopzz5225well not really crazy if you think about X-Men vs avengers, what if the avengers aren't the righteous heroes we know from the MCU But more of a dark avengers. Could definitely make that work, with superior Ironman at the head of it, being he has 2-3 infinity stones, adamantium armor and the Ultron army. A hydra version of captain America, or like the symbiote Spiderman. It could be very interesting
I think we should get Kang V Doom as the competing big bads for secret wars. One from MCU one from Fox. X-men/FF encountered Doom variants. All the fox properties set up Doom as a Big bad. and all the MCU properties set up Kang as the Big Bad. the two big bads and two universes on a collision course. FF sets up Doom. X-Men Doom. Shang Chi 2 sets up Kang variants. Thor 5 sets up Kang Variants. Black Panther 3 sets up Kang. Young Avengers sets up Doom and Kang. Spider-man movies set up Morlun as a potential rival to the title of the claimant of multiversal archvillian.
probably a sorcerer in the void who’s teleporting them from ant-man’s eye to somewhere else (presumably safer) in the void; I don’t think Deadpool & wolverine will end up in Mcu by the end of this film as marvel has yet to drop a lot of their street level projects. I do think they’ll end up in the Mcu after this movie or an avengers 5 however
Yea I think they WANT us to think that but likely some random magic wielder in the void. Apparently there’s a mutant in the comics that also uses mystical arts magic too. Likely him
Guys I know it has to be someone in the void, unless its somehow America Chaves but I highly doubt that because this scene seems to take place a lot earlier in the movie. Im just replying to a comment now so cant rewatch but almost sure Wolverine still has his sleeves
I really like the idea of the plot, but i really don't care about making the characters from The Marvels important to it. It all comes down to writing quality and whether or not it isn't completely studio-micromanaged into a generic mess. If those things aren't locked down, it doesn't matter how cool the concept is. Also, for the love of The One Above All, by all means, make the women awesome, but put respect on the men. It's not a competition, and you don't need to cut characters out at the knees and make them less cool than they are to make other characters legit.
I think they should have multiple variants of all the key characters (both Avengers and X Men) for secret wars, and this would be how they introduce the new actors for the soft reboot. For example, Hugh Jackman and the new actor to play Wolverine are on battle world, Hugh doesn't make it, so forth and so on with the rest who aren't reprising their roles in the reboot. They could also introduce a new Steve Rodgers and Tony Stark while still having RDJ and Evans doing cameos but only the new actors make it off battle world.
I thought the first trilogy, the Wolverine, and DoFP work really well as one over arching plot but the soft prequel reboot was a mistake and generally a contradictory mess that did nothing to build on the established characters. There was a reluctance to treat the X-Men as the stars of their own franchise, which they could have done in X4 with an established core team. Plus the Marauders Massacre could have opened up the opportunity to bring in the final classic missing members like Psylocke, Dazzler, Havok, Polaris, and Gambit. They could even have done a Muir Island spin off movie instead of another Wolverine movie to focus on the wounded X-Men, explain Professor X's resurrection properly, and maybe do Legion, Proteus, or even the birth of Excalibur. Maybe Besty could have been used to help Charles adjust to his new body. So much wasted potential to instead tell the Phoenix story poorly twice. Plus in how many other projects did people just say the X-Men were gone, with no explanation. So I really hope they do a transition with the original, older cast, who seemed to have a better handle on the characterisation. If they are more faithful when they do the soft reboot, it might be better received. But I hope they don't make the team too powerful. The X-Men are great fun but the more powerful they become, the less interesting they become as characters.
The pitch needs to be after the reboot that the mutants have been here since the 1960s, 1980s at least. They can explain their slow aging as part of their powers but Magneto needs to be a survivor of WW2.
Everything you explained in this video is extremely convoluted & unnecessary. The plan is give the Fox X-men is a proper send off! Nl need to over complicate!
Gross. The Fox X-Men were terrible. Only the first one was kinda ok, and Logan of course was great. Every other film was trash. MCU needs to put as much distance between them and it as possible. Completely redo the X-Men and do it RIGHT.
It's definitely a lot of the same actors, but with secret wars (battleworld) they will most if not all die permanently. This is basically the final hurrah before a full reboot so I would expect to see a lot of them, but also I'm willing to bet they will basically all die by the end of secret wars 2 or whatever they title it
Are you kidding me? Not only will it be nostalgic, but then you'll get to see them all get killed in an rated R way. What better way to usher in a new cast then by literally killing the old one.
@@bandoogiemanzthose peters had slipped through the multiverse crack just like some of their villains. Only America Chavez can go between universes. Even Clea Strange played by Charlize Theron proved slings can’t go between different universes for she has to literally has cut a hole into ours to get to our strange at the end of multiverse of madness.
Redeem old xmen? What needs redeeming. The original xmen films up until dark phoenix are a billion times better and closer to the source material than anything Disney has done
I hope Alioth in that Deadpool trailer is controlled by Ravonna and she’s actually the Kang variant that dominated it and helped He who Remained take over before he erased their memories
The way you handle Kang is you show the same thing as in the comics when Cain destroys dooms universe and doom survives only the team up with Kang in battle world and then betray and kill him to then run battle world so to speak you definitely just make that happen cuz Doom is essentially one of the biggest baddest f****** villains there is and that solves the kang problem if they're not using Jonathan majors and they're changing their script you just write in doom. Doom has a history with Kang and it wouldn't take long on screen to show that.
I just want the animated x men live action with Nightcrawler, colossus, Angel, Gambit, Iceman, and Rogue on the team lead by Cyclops, Jean grey, Storm,Beast, and Wolverine. Side characters beak, husk,.and Chamber.
Secret wars and battle world should be it’s own phase with multiple big movies infinity war endgame level like an x-men in the middle too to make it a huge story
X-Men vs The Avengers.??? Don't get me wrong, I love the idea but, we've got to be realistic. Yes.! Get as many if not all of the OG actors back and do Secret Wars properly. Cancel the Kang Dynasty and, give us a Multiversal Ending Trilogy. Part 1: X-Men vs The Avengers - Time Runs Out. Part 2: Secret Wars - Armageddon Part 3: Battle World - God Emperor Doom.
This makes the most sense to me Josh they have already established this universe at the end of the Marvels has X men in it why would they ignore that universe instead of using it moving forward.
If anything you've said here is true. That may very well explain the Sony / Marvel kerfuffle. A). Sony wants another Multiverse movie because they know Marvel's not done with the Multiverse Saga. B). Miles Morales could be one of the "additional" heroes that exist in the X-Men's universe. Therefore, Miles gets involved & ends up in the 616 with the X-Men & any others as aforementioned.
I absolutely love this theory I always wanted you to have the x men in the mcu and Hugh jackman did say he would play the character if he was brought into the mcu and Kelsey grammer did say he wants to play beast again after the marvels so this is there chance to be part of the mcu after secret wars
Would prefer to have first class charles and magneto. Michael fassbender as magneto is a true gem and it's a shame people can't get over their nostalgia and prefer the old characters who are about to croak.
Yell at me if I’m wrong but secret wars sounds like the airport scene in Civil War turned up to 11. I love that movie but that’s the weakest part for me. No one seems to be talking about that. What are the stakes in Secret war. It seems like it’s just key jingling x 1000000
Just absolutely bad decision after bad decision to not have introduced Doom by now. Kang was weird, poorly explained and added, a serious miscalculation.
I believe in the comics a variant of kang destroys dooms world and he vows revenge I believe he teams up with kang on battle world only to betray and kill kang, at least the variant responsible for dooms world. Doom is definitely gonna be a huge part of secret wars.
Honestly, the multiverse nonsense required to make everything you’re talking about happen is exhausting to even think about, and I’m a geek. Can’t imagine normies going along with all of it or following it.
Yea it wouldn’t be easy no matter how you do it and cmon, you have to admit, it would be absolutely epic to have one studio connect every single superhero movie (within marvel comics) from all the way back in 1999/2000. Especially when there was absolutely no plan to do this at all when they originally made all of those movies. This is literally the only way that can do that and it just seems like perfect timing that the MCU is in the multiverse saga and you still have enough of these actors willing to come back and play their role again.
So would Scarlet Witch be a mutant and fight with the X-Men? Hopefully they'll bring Quicksilver back. Fox's version was unrealistic and trash. He was fast but not that damn fast! Fox ruined a lot!
I hear some talk about secret wars until I'm sick of hearing about secret wars and I think a lot of people are like that I think marvel should just cancel the secret wars canceled their plan for the conclusion of the multiverse and just go into the directions and still have multiple of happen but trying to build up for something for right now. I also don't see no power for successful avengers movie moving forward so they should just put the avengers franchise on the sidelines and just focus on the X-Men and other characters in quit worrying about building up for The avengers. Now if they want to do the Young avengers that's fine if they want to do other versions of the avengers that's fine but trying to get characters for the main avengers they just have not been successful in finding anybody or any character that people really want to say so they should just sideline that story playing and go with some new store plans for other versions of the avengers that are not going to be the main avengers.
Its a mistake to think this Deadpool movie will mean a good XMen movie. Reynolds had some control here. The activists, the M-She-U, the woke infestation at Disney will likely ruin XMen. There is no sign they're doing anything right anymore. They lose money on movies now, and yet continue to make bad decisions. Have no idea what this nerd is excited about. Unless Feige stops bowing to The Message and returns to making basic, comic-truthful stories and characters, it will all still be bad.
