I'm just beyond tired of their shitty ass "wip" excuse every single time they make a horrible balance change. Like yeah, of course the changes are not final, that's why they're in hordetesting, but literally how did anyone think this was even good enough to make it into testing to begin with, you don't need feedback from the entire community to know that Pachy's growth time being like almost half the amount of Stego is absolutely insane, this is the type of thing that doesn't even require testing, it's like if they said "Yo guys, would it be balanced if we made Deino run at 50 km/h? Idk, gotta test it to know for sure."
Personally I feel the true crime of the increased growth times is that it unreasonably punishes the already struggling smaller ones, Kav brings up Pachy as a example of how stupid it is to grow one for 2 hours when a Teno, and now Stego doesnt really require that much more time to grow but get exponentially higher stats but like, what about Omni? Omni isnt exactly a strong dino, even less health than a Pachy and plenty of things they hunt are capable of more or less 1 hit killing them. Even a Pachy can do it if they break the leg, thats pretty much the Omni being dead right there and then. Teno hits them once and they get stunned, hits them again poof respawn screen.. Not to mention Stego or a Carno getting a good ram in. Growing the smaller dinos that takes 2+ hours to grow will be insanity when you could grow something MUCH more powerful with just a bit more time.
I personally wouldn't have a problem with the new grow times if there were more interactive mechanics to enjoy so the game isn't just bush simulator. Ignoring the fact there isn't anything to do on the other hand... the growth times would be fine.
Not for small tiers, that’s wild. Part of playing small tiers was for their quickness in general. If you wanted to time sink, that would be a higher tier.
Exactly. It's as if they're developing the game backwards - the core gameplay loop and associated mechanics should have been nailed down a long time ago, yet they keep trying to build around a foundation that doesn't exist. Polishing a turd is what it is.
So the growth of strgo is the same. Very balanced especially since teno takes around the same time to grow. I was honestly excpecting them to make stego take 9 hours to grow ngl. "Oh we are PrEpArInG StEgO fOr ReX GuYs".
really hope the Fking do that AFTER or JUST BEFORE Rex comes Mfers doing changes to the game years before to balance a dino thats not even in public testing.... and the suckers love it....
Nothing should take more than 5 hours to grow, imo. That's just too much time dedicated to ONE dino that you can easily lose to crashes, wipes, mixpacks, etc. Not to mention burn out and boredom.
@@wolfenden6529 completely agree but when a dino can basically 1 shot any mid tier and kill an apex with a few hits, don't you think it should take longer to grow or atleast be hard asf to grow? Instead of being one of the easiest thing to grow?. I understand why you think growing for 6 or 7 hours is bad but they should atleast make it harder for a player to grow.
@@adriannn1180also long growth doesnt mean harder, they can make it harder without having to dedicate your entire gameplay to fucking eating and sitting
I can't wait for Deinos to grab Stegos even after 4 tons, and do a Tug of War thing (not grab the whole stego in the croc's mouth, but most likely via the leg)... And also for Stegos not being able to "fish deinos"... cuz it's Deino's territory and right now it's being bossed around by Stego who's a land herbivore not a water...
5 1/2 of those hours is waiting for prey, 1/2 of the 30 minutes of waiting is catching fish, the rest is hunting and 1/2 of the hunts are not successful.
The developers have acknowledged that there's nothing to do in the game, and then they decide to increase the growth by ten years. I don't get it, man. I don't care if the growth is 24 hours, as long as there's some gameplay between juvenile and adult stages, or any gameplay at all. But right now, there's nothing to do; it's insane.
Stego, currently, is boring as crap. It takes forever to reach full grown. Then, when you reach full grown, most ppl do not want to engage with you because stego is currently the OP dino. I was so bored the last time I played stego I jumped off a cliff to end the boredom
fr, i can only play around once a week, sometimes only once every 2 weeks, for about a 5-8 hour session, i dont want to have to wait a week before i can actually enjoy playing adult, plus if i die i have to start that all over again...
@@The_Primitive yep 2h of bing usles and having the risck of geting one shoted bye every thing, the best chance of survival is litraly afk growth. Not only that it will make dei as a small tear 100 more frustrating. Not only that omni pachy galli are now 2h herrera can 1 combo shot omni and galli and it only tacks 1h30 to grow.
idk The average person doesnt sit in a bush afk growing... or at least the ones saying it gives more weight of accomplishment to growing dinos with longer grow times do not. like ofc you have no sense of acomplishment in the isle if you are hiding in a bush afk not even playing the game... In legacy I grew rexes and Gigas, And I wasnt just afk growing, i have sure, but most the time i would travel traverse and play the game as a weaker smaller rex as a weak giga, why because when i did grow to adult which took 8-9 hours, It felt amazing, and I would go on playing as the adult for the next week or two, 9 hours to grow, then i would spend anywhere from 1-40 hours as an adult my longest lived Giga was at least 40 hrs old in game hrs, played the same dino for a whole week sometimes, would take me 1-4 lifes to finally make it to adult without dying .
you know you can join a battle server with free grows just so you can fight if thats the game you want too play, but the main game is Survival not Dino deathmatch, their are Deathmatch servers which is great fun I love them but the main game is about the Tough hard struggle to survive... when the game is complete it will have a more engaging growth system for everyone
really want them to give fking numbers instead of INCREASED DECREASED. at least now I can use my legacy rex growing method here. Watch harry potter or LOTR trilogy for the 36th time while growing windowed to small window size so I can see when I need to drink, eat.
This is also something I am getting "increasingly" irritated with, supposedly the game is in Early Access/Beta if you listen to the devs and anyone defending them but for some reason the devs are treating us, the beta TESTERS, as if we do not need to know any specifics. Its really hard to test and see if something is working as intended when the intended part remains hidden.
@@TheHuffur yea, cant calculate shit + a lot of effort to test shit out when there are no DM servers like in legacy. Hope they start giving values like increased attack dmg from 50 to 55 or something like that. tbh tho most of their changes are stupid asf people might start calling them out even without testing....
Sorry but your friend is a lil bit ignorant, the kg/health stat isn’t the only thing that determines the damage you can take, and I personally think the troodon buff is amazing, it can easily, without even a sweat tank a body bite from a carno/cera, and even after that, a few tail bites from said carno/cera till dead. I played troodon first thing horde testing as I hope that my little rat boy gets some love to its venom or usefulness, since speaking venom, troodon is near useless compared to the other venom, dilo. (Ans troodon was advertised to be the night terror 😅) also to add something on top, troodon can now win a face tank to a beipi, insane right XD? It used to get 1/1.5 shot. But yeah, troodons hp is 60, but it’s technically atleast 120 MINIMUM. (It got given damage res, not more health) Only thing I’m confused about is what they meant with pounce improvements, cause I don’t see it as an improvement. (What changed is you can do significantly less pounces now, but you do more dmg/bleed. For example, troodon used to easily do 19-22 pounces will 0% on live branch, but now? Less than 10, same for Omni) But the gist of this is, no the dev didn’t lie XD the devs are just awful at being clear what they mean, as always, so it takes more thinking from the players to figure out what they actually meant by “increased troodons durability”
no the numbers hes using are with a perfect diet. 100% growth boost. I grew the troo he was talking about. We've been growing them one by one to see the times. I grew mine for 1 hour and 12 minutes. And I got that perfect diet right after spawning because of dead goats and compies. Quite literally spawned in, ate and sat for an hour. Timed teno as well. It was 3 hours and 3 minutes total time from spawn to finish and 2 hours and 57 minutes after I got my perfect diet. I lapped my timer to see what it was from the diet itself. The time is NOT the same at all xD
havent tested it yet. Im trying to get him to grow one xD said I'd feed him to full grown. Hes not wanting to give up the four hes grown so far for testing. It would be wasting his life xD but like.. They gonna wipe it anyways so whats it matter?
a "sense of accomplishment"!? i avoid bigger playables because of the longer growth times and the only sense of "accomplishment" i get from reaching full adult, is knowing i can finally stop stressing about what hacker is going to kill me in 2 hits
But what can kill a deino? a spino? In another 3 years of waiting and after that we will have the same problem bc there will be always somedino unkilleable
but not soon, an example is rex, devs literaly sayed anything cant stop them and they will not be slow tho , also trike could defeat him but a rex could evade them easy and kill any other dino , @@dark_c_a_t8894
Teno takes 3 hours to grow..? I wanna know why. I don't mind stego, deino, whatever taking 4 hours to grow to adult because that's still dedication (there can be bumps and restarts along the way) but smaller dinos should be a lot faster to grow. There's no reason for teno to take 3 hours.
I'm wondering how many people AFK grow VS actually play the game while growing nowadays. It was really necessary to AFK grow in a safe hiding spot in legacy cuz juvis were slow and useless but now they're a lot more viable, so I'm wondering if the people that like the new growth times are actually playing the game instead of AFKing. I'm sure the amount of AFK growers is still larger than the amount of people not doing that though. There still isn't enough to do, but migrations and diets are a start.
This is actually something that interests me too. If someone is bush growing a dino that can be at some point even in earlier stages quicker than adults, with superior stam while still being quite small, on a map with so dense jungle foliage, mountains etc. (basically in every way better at surviving), for few hours and then go right in the first fight with a solid chance of losing (always chance like that), what feeling can that person have after experience like that? The only thing I really don´t enjoy to grow is cera which is painfully slow and non-viable for a good portion of its lifecycle but other than that, surviving is very easy and it is still more of a content for me to just wander around, mess with AI or even observing other players from hiding spot than just not doing anything. The amount of saltiness I would get from that is unimaginable.. I am not much of a fun of this new growth system but I am certainly not going to sh*t my pants over it. Not that much invested in the game to begin with. It is almost certain that the way how it is in hordetesting branch now will be changed later again. This game is fiddling with core stats all the time and it is completely normal at this point. Adding 2 new playables apparently messed up AI system for another 1 month so anything is possible I guess.
its about to be with this. Who wants to lose a nearly grown pachy to an omni pounce? Dilo either since they get all their weight at the end of their growth. Feels very legacy, which is sad.
What do you mean a juvies are alot more viable ? Every juvie in the game can get 1 hit killed by any sub adult species except hypsi and dryo. People sit in bushes to grow because there’s no point spending an hour growing and exploring with nothing to do in between except die to someone already grown. It’s entirely more advantageous to sit in a bush and wait instead wasting time. There’s literally no engaging gameplay for any dinosaur smaller than a sub adult and even most sub adults are useless in combat. So bush AFKing is 100 percent the only viable option .
@@Gnarwolf I have never done AFK growing on gateway and pretty much almost always grew to full adult. Maybe I just don´t know how to play the game then. What I mean is that for example omni is at 150 kg already faster than a full adult while having much more stam and being able to hide better since it is smaller. This does not apply to all playables, sure, but for most of them is pretty easy to survive while being on move. Galli is as quick as adult from the beginning and once a carno is faster than adult dilo (around 500 kg? Idk now) then it can wander even around hotspots with no issue. Dilos that are faster (subs) are not that much of a threat to carno. Bush growing is 100% viable but not the only option, that is nonsense. The only dinos that are in sort of a "constant danger" are tenos and ceras while growing. I do not count stego since this shit is getting bulk even when it is not trying and right after having 3 tons is basically immune to most of the roster rn. And it is always much more fun to run around with a smaller steg since you can experience at least some action with it that way.
@@Gnarwolf I mean more viable because in legacy they were even worse lol. Most juvis were incredibly slow, and had terrible stamina. At least now they’re a lot quicker and have tons of stam until they grow up
I don't understand their thought process behind this. Would you rather grow marginally faster with far worse stats as PACHY, or wait SLIGHTLY longer to be an infinitely better creature, aka Stego? Outrageous.
With the old times it wasnt so bad. Especially in a group. Specifically a group that can actually defend y ou against other shit xD But like.. This is going to be a bitch. The combat itself is very fun when you get bigger. But like.. Getting there was always the sucky part.
