After my first ever ply/epoxy build a 17ft kayak using copper wire ties and now my 14ft boat build using plastic ties, the copper ties are a lot better. Nice work mate

Stitch and glue: the easiest and cheapest way to build a boat (very little waste also), great for beginners to build their confidence. I built my first at 12 yo.Someone with average skills can build one in 2-3 weekends. Some team building seminars use this method for their week long company team building, its fun and satisfying.

The boat is simply a masterpiece!

I build the wood and canvas canoes but helped a group build 6 or 7 of these stitch-and-glue kit boats in Calgary, Canada. Nice boats that went together quite easily. Unfortunately one fellow took his brand new boat (first use!!!) into a river and punctured the hull on a rock amidships. He stopped by my shop to ask advice and it looked like a major repair job as the water penetrated inner and outer layers of glass and soaked a lot of the wood well beyond the original impact spot. The only way I could see to repair would be to tear the whole section apart, try to get and install a matching piece of laminate and reapply the glass on both sides. These are lovely boats but you need to keep the glass and epoxy in good shape otherwise your laminate will wick up water and you will have a fibreglass/epoxy sandwich filled with soggy wood to deal with. Wood/canvas canoes are much easier to work with. That said, any canoe is a great canoe...Paddle On!!

Wenn beim Aufsetzen der Bug- und Heckverstärkungen ( ab 12:30 ) der Verstärkungstreifen diagonal zum Webmuster geschnitten wird, kann man ihn in einem Stück schneiden und sauber über die Kante ziehen.

Sehr schönes und interessantes Video! Was genau ist mit "nass auf klebrig oder schleifen" gemeint? Heißt das, dass man die neue Epoxyschicht schon aufbringen soll, bevor die alte gehärtet ist, bzw., wenn das nicht geht, die alte Epoxyschicht erst einmal geschliffen werden muss? Das Harz nennt sich Epoxidharz und nicht Epoxid..Ausserdem wird kein Microfiber verwendet sondern Mocroholglaskugeln oder Füllstoff in Form von Baumwollflocken.
