Dr. Ram Buxani the Chairman of the ITL-Cosmos Group.
Dr. Buxani has been an integral part of the evolution of ITL-Cosmos Group, the first company to secure a decree by the then ruler of Dubai, the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum to operate commercially.
Today, the Group has strong interests in consumer electronics retail, information technology, textiles and banking, and is also credited with bringing professional standards to the retail sector through Dr. Buxani’s vision to build a truly global enterprise from Dubai serving the world.
Enthusiastic and humble, the veteran business leader has been a resident of Dubai for the past over 64 years, having witnessed the amazing transformation of the city, and contributing as much to the nation as to the community.
Mr. Buxani has been the promoter of Sindhi language, he played in many plays in the early days in Dubai, from where Mr. Harwani got inspired to the Sindhi language.
As a prominent spokesperson of NRIs in the Gulf, Dr. Buxani is the Founder Chairman of the Overseas Indians Economic Forum (UAE), which was established in 1987 as a leading NRI entity until its merger with the Indian Business and Professional Council in 2003.
Mr. Buxani also played significant role in arranging temporary shelter for NRIs who were fleeing from Kuwait en-route to India following the Iraq-war. He also led the campaign to raise over Rs 6 million, the highest amount from the region, for the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for victims in Gujarat.
Mr. Buxani served as the Chairman of The Indian High School, Dubai, the largest Indian school in the region
from 2000-2004.

In 2003 Ram Buxani published his autobiography, “Taking the High Road” It has been translated to Arabic, Sindhi, Gujarati, Hindi, Urdu, Marathi and Malayalam. He personally presented the copy to Mr. Harwani.
Recipient of coveted Man of the Year Award by Bharat Ratna, an English magazine published from Hong Kong in 1992, Mr. M Harwani also was there to witness the event in Hong Kong.

During the Corona lockdown he came on many Webinars of Mohit Shewani, Raju Manwani, M. Harwani, and others and his vision was clear for the promotion of the Sindhi language.

In 2012 Dr. Buxani was presented the “Most Inspiring Personality” CEO Award by Arabian Business and also ranked as one of the 100 Top Most Powerful Indians in UAE.
Dr. Buxani has been ranked as one of the
100 most influential Indians in the UAE by Forbes Middle East and one of the 50 Richest Indians in the UAE by Arabian Business.
During Harwani's stopover in Dubai He always paid a visit to Mr Buxani in his office and discuss many topics among was the Sindhi language, Sindhi Films and Sindhi culture.
