It REALLY worked out, the re-power is working out perfectly! The weather was nice and calm, the travel-lift was available and on-time. One small snag - we had to cross a private field before 3 and the tide was super low! They blocked the boat and we had to wait for enough water to launch.
The first run proved that all the decisions were correct: Prop size/pitch, horsepower, engine/sail-drive placement, and the required systems. The boat is faster and smoother, gotta love that! We only had one small leak and that was from the rudder post - it just needed a little grease and the packing snugged up. No fuel, antifreeze or other leaks. We used a digital phototach on the crank to verify the Wide Open Throttle RPM. The engine is rated @ 3600 and we were able to get 3452 RPM with 150 of spec, that'll work just fine!
Next we have to get the mast re-installed. Stay turned we still have plenty of more videos to share this story of re-power "Home Again" a Nonsuch 30' sailboat.
Big Thanks to all of our Skallywags (students & staff) and all who have helped to make this re-power a success and lets not forget to thank:

How exciting. She sounded so good. She was a very nice project. Thanks for allowing us to learn and work on her. Fair Winds and Following Seas (no one really likes following seas but it sounds nice)😂
