It’s been a while since I’ve done a home arcade tour. So let’s head out to see Jeff Kinder’s personal collection that he keeps in his basement arcade. Jeff Kinder is the founder of the Dragon’s Lair Project site and is an avid collector of arcade games.

Jeff is a class act all the way. I was fortunate to get a nickel tour a few years ago. He mentioned the Rally X he had in his overflow garage that I once owned. He also has a really nice Xevious I once owned and most recently he got a Gyruss from me, can't wait tosee that one restored.

Yeah, I did see the Xevious, which he did have in the basement, I just forgot to shoot it in the video. He also has the Spy Hunter down there as well that is in the process of being restored.

He's so right about LEDs in old pinball machines. Sure they're more reliable but they're blinding and give me headaches.

Yeah, I'm sure this won't be the first tour at Jeff's place! Once the pandemic is over with we will tour his storage and parent's house where he has more machines! Also, check out Richie Knucklez' arcade tour and Joe Szabo. (There is an entire playlist with all the places I've visited.) Arcadenut has an amazing home arcade too, very similar to Jeff.

My friend's ex-boyfriend had a pinball machine collection in his house, and he knew a guy that changed the scoreboard? from the standard orange text to colored text. It was a nice upgrade, especially on his Fun House pinball machine.

Yeah, those color scoreboards (called DMDs or "Dot Matrix Displays") are amazing looking and are worth upgrading to.

Thanks. I looked at a bunch of different options and I'm terrible at painting, so I decided to go with vinyl. It had a really cool metallic look to it. I think I don't find Kangaroo that good because it feels incomplete. It was done by another company that Atari paid to program it and it was rushed and sloppy. Also, I hate games that use up to jump. They should have put an extra button on there. Try it in MAME by reassigning jump to a button instead of up. Works better IMHO. That said, I'd play it if invited again. Heh. Heh.

DeLuSioNaL's Arcade Yeah. The controls are a bit wonky I remember. It was not very responsive, but I like the idea overall. It had some big flaws though.

Great video!! How many games do you think he has in his basement? I couldn't visualize a full picture of the layout - maybe because I was multi tasking lol. He's got like every title that anyone could ever want - and then the garage or storage games under cover made the list even longer! Fantastic collection and all the monitors were crisp! Thanks for the tour.

I think he said he can fit up to 40 in the basement and it current at capacity. The arcade goes in a complete circle. He also had about 14 (or more) in the garage and then more at his parent's house. (The System 1 cabinets were not stored at his house.)

Yeah, I remember going to the bodegas too and seeing a bootleg of Pac-Man and Jungle King. There were a few delis in the neighborhood that had other games too like Ghosts and Goblins, Spy Hunter and Yie Ar Kung Fu. This were the days! (I grew up in NYC too).

Love the lights. I just watched this Video on a guy that had what he calls a BarnCade. Yeah he's got the games but in this bright white Barn with no Decals or lights and its hella bright and I'm like where is the Darkness and LED'S.

You're probably referring to Jeff' O's Barncade that was just featured on Retro Ralph's channel. I'm sure that over time it eventually get there (once he gets it going and adds more decoration and ambient lighting.) But he just finished building the barn itself. On a side note:. UnorthdoxCleric That "guy" is me...I didn't want it mega dark...at night the arcade illumination looks outstanding. I haven't put my artwork up yet. Retro Ralph stopped in. I love the dark arcades but that was too dark for my Barn.

Yep, you heard right! Relief pitcher was never released to the public. So it's a prototype, so very rare. There are only 2 known to exist. And Jeff has 1 of them. :-)
