Nice quick Node-red tips @ 3:20:00. Great discovery of the attributes detailed info under Context / Global.. .. and a simple way to avoid spelling mistakes by using the copy functionality to reference to attributes under ..homeAssistant.states.. (capital A) We'll be waiting for more good stuff! :)

👍 Glad it was helpful! - I'll include more shortcuts tips in the future.

1. Move relay to pcf - you have 2 pin free. 2. Use ws2812 for indicate. Now you have in sonoff 2 pin for i2c and 1 for ws2812!

@3ATIVE 4 года назад
I don't know what 'PCF' is. 🤷‍♂️ However, I still have GPIO2 free on the Sonoff so, you can use that for a WS2812. When prototyping this, I did think about illuminating the fan's blades by having a ring of WS2812's at the top for some interesting patterns.

@@Siorinex 👍 OIC, I'm using the MCP23008 instead. Although, I still don't see how moving the relay to it would be useful.

@@Siorinex Ah yes, I see what you mean - Like the iFan02. The fans I demo here don't use that method. Each speed has its own wire and you don't combine them for the different speeds.

Just looked on RS components website. Minium order is 25 mcp23008 at £27.00

Weird, I ordered 10 ( 2x5 items) @ £0.726 (Ex VAT) each. Try this: uk.rs-online.com/web/p/i-o-expanders/0403563

Still looking forward to the full write up but I do have a question. Why not use the ESPHome Fan Component instead of how you have it with three different switches? Also really like the end of the board design versus setting up my own board.

I wanted to make it as easy as possible to understand and follow. 😎 I am looking at the Fan component (ESPHome iFan02) but, from what I see it's not as straight forward as this way. I have my fans controller-able with sliders now, which I think as a far better way and is easy to include in automations, Node-Red, etc. Once done, all this extra detail and methods will be included in the [ultimate] 'Ultimate Fan' project tutorial. 😊

Why not use triac with d1 mini? so the circuit will be smaller

I do get some spare time and I'm more than happy to help you out. Firstly though, I suggest you take a look at the EasyEDA tutorials here: docs.easyeda.com/en/Introduction/Introduction-to-EasyEDA/index.html Also, search RU-vid as there are a few videos explaining the basics - That's how I learned.
