Lovely. I have another idea too. That crawl space underneath the digester panel frame? Any greenhouse material left? Cover up the sides of the panel frame, add a few nesting boxes and pop in a few hens. Let them roam the yard daily. Free range eggs, extra brilliant manure for the veggies planned, and NO snails or bugs in the veggie patch. Also, if you add a rooster.....no 'alarm clock" needed to wake up! 😆Happy days, enjoy!

You did a great job designing your syatem. I have the same system as you do. I had to redesign how I heat my biogas digester and my hot water because my greenhouse got way too hot in the summer months. As for winter time my system kept my greenhouse so warm I could keep my doors open all day long and get free heat from my greenhouse. I did do something different from your system, I put a hot water tank on my biogas digester so in the winter I had hot water flowing through it 90% percent of the time. It will take you at least a month before it will give you plenty of cooking gas. Again, I really liked your system. It was well thought out. Have a wonderful day!

Thank you and thanks for sharing. My system has been up and running close to 2 years now I no longer have to heat it at all just let the sun heat it and works just fine everyday I have gas. Just feed it and put water that's it. Our winters in Hawaii does not freeze or does not come close to it. Free gas everyday can't beat it.

@@ModernOffGridDIY so awesome! Great video. I’m on big island and am about to set up a biodigester so this video was great. Super excited. One tip I learned researching appliances to run off of the biogas/methane. The main difference is simply the size of the pilot holes dispensing the fuel. Like how natural gas stove has a smaller size pilot hole than a propane stove. The hole for a biogas appliance needs to be 3 times larger than it would for a propane burning device. I’ve got a double burner and tankless hot water heater for mine but also found some videos of people running a generator on biogas. Just need an inline pump to keep the pressure consistent. Anyway great video stoked this is working so well for you and I’m super inspired to get my system set up. Bless up 🤙🍀✨

Hello If I may make a couple of suggestion. The ground will act as a heat sink and will take all the heat away from your biobag. I would use some ridged foam insulation between the ground and your coil of hot water. Second water like to take the path of least resistance so your hot water will go through the first line and back to pump. If you make a zig zag effect to get your hot water over all the bottom your biobag. I love your Idea for heat. I was just getter ready to build a bag with internal heat lines and this idea it amazing. I hope my info helps you make more biogas.

You don't need a circulation pump, put the solar heater in the green house, shorten the input output lines and let natural convection do its thing. Drain the line in the fall. Insulation needed between the ground and bladder. The joints are a hazard and too expensive. The water input line needs to be big enough for all those joint lines. The power of the flow weakens over all the lines and will only flow in the first two lines. One line switchbacked.

You need insulation under that radiant heating. You are losing all your heat energy to the ground. It's probably getting some heat from the radiant heating, but a night it's just going to be sucking it all back out. You would have been just as well off not having it there at all.

@STARFIRESOLAR
@STARFIRESOLAR 11 месяцев назад
I know you will probably never see this comment but I wanted to share some information with you about solar water heating. It takes 1 BTU to raise the temperature of 1 gallon of water 1 degree F. As a rule of thumb, Solar Thermal collectors yield Approx. 1000 BTU per sq.ft. area. that means that a 4 X 10 collector = about 40,000 BTU/solar day in winter. ( in full sun). You are attempting to heat 1,136 gallons of water with one 4 X 10 collector. Use this equation: Required BTU = Gallons X 8.3 X Desired temperature rise. Example: to raise the temperature of 100 gal. water 50 degrees F (say 60 F to 110 F) the calculation is 100 X 8.3 X 50 = 41,500 BTU. You are trying to heat 1,136 gal. of water so you will need over 11.36 times the output of your 4 X 10 collector to heat that much water in a solar day in winter. Also using the straight pipe method without using a proper heat exchanger will lower the efficiency of the system. Using a pump with a flow rate of say 2 gal/min will decrease the efficiency of the system because the water will not stay in the collector long enough to provide an efficient heat exchange and will return to the digester with very little change of temperature. Of coarse since you are not using the heated water like you would in a home water heater, once the water in the digester is heated to the desired temperature you would only have to replace the heat lost during the night. Insulation is key. Also the straight pipe set up with no flow-check valve and the heated water being lower than the collector, will allow the heat in the bag to be thermo-siphoned back to the collector and radiate the heat back into the atmosphere during non-sun hours and you will lose heat from the digester. Building a greenhouse around it like you want to do will also help heat the water and hold some heat in at night but you will still have the loss due to thermo-siphoning as I mentioned before. So I hope this information helps you.

The pump has 3 speeds low med and high. I also put my hand under the biogas digester to feel the Pipes and its working well. The same way this is setup is the exact same all my solar water heater panels are built from the factory. 6 hrs of cooking gas on a double burner stove every day if I'm feeding it no more the 5gals per day. I stocked up alot of food waste before I started the project plus I have 2 other family's giving me there food waste. I gave them a air tight 5gal buckets and I swap them out for them.
