You’re so strong!!! I can’t believe the midwife was talking about breaking your water & telling you not to make noise while pushing. That is so far from what a midwife should be telling a mama in labor. You did AMAZING.
@daphnepatterson1983
@daphnepatterson1983 Год назад
bingo! I was astounded at how much the midwife and assistants were talking all throughout while she was having surges, and especially right after baby was born- that's the time for baby to bond and connect with the sound of Mom and Dad's voices, not all the other people in the room. Beth did amazing

In her birth story video, Beth said that the feedback the midwife gave her about her vocalizations actually helped her to push more efficiently. Everyone is different.

70% of the midwives are like this. They tell you not to make loud noises. None of the doctors or midwives I have spoken to were helpful. After taking jabs, most healthcare professionals are just soulless nowadays. All they do is invalidate, disregard and gaslight you into thinking you're in the wrong for doing something that's out of your control.
@isabelprohaska5611
@isabelprohaska5611 Год назад
@@rebeloftheeast they want you to make loud noises. low, deep gutteral sounds help open and relax your cervix. They don't want you to be high pitched or panic/pant

My hope is that home births become the norm,I had a hospital birth, a birth center birth and finally a home birth and nothing can compare to the wonderful passionate care felt from midwives. So sweet to see your experience , it brings back so many memories. Congratulations

I just had my 4th baby 3 weeks ago and went all natural as well. Watching this brings me back to that moment of birth: pure bliss! I also totally relate to when you said goodnight to your oldest, being a mother of many is such a blessing, but also hard on the heart when you have to say goodbye to their babyhood in order to have another. I didn't communicate much either, and neither did my midwives, just let me, my baby and my body do what we needed to. im sorry but for me the checking and monitoring and then telling you when to push...thats something i told my midwife is an absolute no. i ended up having my first home birth before the midwife got there and it was so wonderful. even though i chose a midwife who would have respected my wishes and probably just sat there quietly. being the one the catch my baby and doing zero pushing with nobody interfering was incredible! also her suggesting to break the water and checking how dilated you were was very odd to see for a home birth and it didnt seem like you knew her or knew what to expect...but you did amazing and im sure for you it was a positive experience!

My youngest and 5th child recently gave birth to her 4th at home, and this really reminded me of that. I'll never forget watching her husband right there by her side, so concerned and supportive and never walked away until Olivia - my 16th grandchild - was born. He never cries, so watching the tears falling down his face just broke me. Fantastic job to both mom and dad here - very sweet, Spirit filled entry into the world. ❤

I hope the transition goes well though.. 🥺 I'm really nervous... How has it been for you guys??

I feel like people shouldn’t be hating on the Midwife who delivered her babies. They did NOT tell her they should break her water. The midwife does have to give the mama all the options. I didn’t hear her recommend it at all. And when she told her to try not to make noise while going through the contractions, she was trying to coach her on the breathing technique. This woman did everything she was supposed to do, and all midwives should give their patient options. You have to… legally.
@christina5kids16grands
@christina5kids16grands 19 дней назад
I completely agree with you. I mentioned under another comment shredding these midwives that one of my girls is a midwife, and the other is a doula. It is so personal, the team you choose to have around you. What they tell one mom may not be the same for the next. This team told this mother to do what it took to get that baby out, and get mom out of pain. They were perfect for this mom, this baby, this dad, this environment, this day, this time. I think they did an awesome job encouraging her, empowering her, promoting her choices, giving her all the control - it's crazy to see all the negative comments!

Congratulations! I personally couldn’t deal with a midwife like this, especially how much she was putting her hands on baby right after he came out. like give the mama a minute to just hold her baby! It doesn’t matter if baby is covered in stuff, that’s birth. I also got a somewhat similar tip about trying to direct more energy down by making more low pitch, guttural noises instead of screaming but at the end of the day, birth was the most painful thing I ever felt in my life and I was screaming my head off. The advice has good intentions but also, the body has wisdom, and some women just need to scream! Birth is all about doing what works for you, trust your body to guide you 🤍 good luck to all the other mama’s out there!

I'll never forget my b**** nurse who told me to "Stop making noise when you push." I immediately had a lot to say about that and her bedside manner. I did not hold back in my rage in my pain. I embarrassed her so badly that another nurse replaced her. I was the least noisy and least difficult person in the entire ward. Literally heard a lady scream for 6 hours straight, having a natural birth, while I was there and was told to "not make noise" during my 10.minute push. Still makes me mad.

My husband and I are wanting to do a home birth .. What are the steps you need in order to deliver the baby at home? Does the Midwife normally get there on time? Or sometimes you deliver the baby alone? This is our first baby.. So watching as much videos as possible. We are currently out of the country... But we are still wanting to go the home birth route. We love the idea of everything being natural and not in a hospital.. Please let me know! Thanks and your baby is so beautiful.
