Hey folks! In this film I'll be making a Gooseberry Bitter from a kit with my own home-made gooseberry jam from gooseberries grown in my own garden.
The ingredients in this brew are as follows:
A Young's Harvest Bitter beer kit.
500g medium spray malt from Muntons.
1.1kg home-made gooseberry jam, which is made from steamed and pressed gooseberries, boiled with sugar.
Young's yeast nutrient.
Young's pectolase.
100g dehydrated cascade hops.
15 litres of spring water.
The film includes the full recipe, which includes making a hop tea infusion in spring water. Making the beer kit and then adding the jam and hop tea before adding into the fermenter, which is a Ritchies Fermantion Bin alongside the dry ingredients.
The film includes ingredients, recipe, fermentation, racking, bottling, conditioning, opening and tasting.
This has made a delicious Autumn and Winter beer, and I'll definitely consider making this again next year. Cheers folks!
