We purchased one and for some reason the cable that runs through the costume down the pant leg was missing and I thought I was crazy and every other video was like a Time-lapse so I couldn’t see the people actually putting things together until I found your video and it confirmed that I am not in fact crazy! And I had to order a new one and return the defective one that we have :( So thank you again!
Thank you for doing this. Made putting mine together a breeze! ( I didn't forget the neck part lol) But I did forget to take off the H sticker DOH! Let me know if you find any accessories for him besides the giant Santa hat. I want to put a beard and Santa jacket on him later! Bests!
Thanks for the video! Does it seem anyway possible to put on only half of his legs so that he’s shorter? I wanted to get him for my moms house as an inside decoration but he might be about 3ft too tall! Thanks again!
Unfortunately, because of the way the legs angle inward, it would be a little hard to do it with only one leg section. The bottom sections don't come close enough together at the top to fit the waist section, and the upper legs don't spread apart far enough to eliminate the bottom (which also has the controller and sound box so you don't wanna lose those too!). Also, the bends at each joint are different. It might be possible, but you'd be doing a good bit of cutting/bending/praying in order to modify it. I might suggest instead trying to find the 6.5' version and make a base out of plywood or something else that can be made to look like the iconic curved hilltop for you to set him on. You'd be able to have him up higher that way for more impact but not have to modify Jack to do so. Just a thought! :)
On the bottom of the torso section is a plug (that splits into two wires) that gets hooked to the one coming up from the leg section (not the sensor wire that I hadn't pulled clear at first, but the other one that you can see at the top of the legs at about the 5:40 mark as I slid the foam back on). So the leg wire plugs into the wire at the bottom of the torso, and then the top of the torso where the other end is, splits off to the head for one plug and the bowtie with the other. What is the plug called for a motion sensor? My jack is to far away for the sensor to pick anyone up and was hoping for a pad or a aux motion sensor I could plug in
It's a 1/8" mono jack that it plugs into. Basically a headphone plug but only 1 black band and not 2. It's the plug that most every step pad comes with, and they make 1/8" mono extension cables if you need the pad out further. Alternatively you could use something like the Spirit Halloween 4-channel prop remote and remotely set it off, those will plug right in. Or there are other ways to trigger with extra motion sensors (Fright Props has plenty that will work that way though it can get pricey a bit depending on the options you go with). I've also seen videos where people will use an aftermarket motion detector that the prop can plug into that basically turns the prop on / off for power instead of triggering the action. But yes, standard 1/8" mono jack on the control box, and any trigger that has a 1/8" mono plug on it will work for him.
I can get an exact measurement in a couple days when I get back over to where he's hiding away, but it was approx 14x16" or so from what I remember. I'll update this in a few days when I can get more measurements though! Thanks :)
In this video I actually didn't have him staked down at all. He is going to be set up on the front porch of my haunted house. I luckily have some bundles of shingles left over from my roof this summer (70lbs each) that I'm going to use to lay on the base to hold it down, and some tether ropes to some porch beams at the top
My apologies :( I did have them all run through but it wasn't until I took him back down that I realized I hadn't captured them. I'll be sure to update with the full playthrough the next time I'm able to put him back up!
