I tried my best to be a very helpful Lowes employee, but most of the staff around me ignored my department calls. ESPECIALLY when the customer had an urgent need for their order, which was placed well in advance, and was promised to be at the counter upon arrival. I wasn't supposed to leave the desk, but I had to almost every time to get the customer their shit within a reasonable timeframe. And yes, I got bitched out by the manager for that multiple times. Also, with most departments (lumber!), if they did pick up my call for once and confirm that they were bringing the order, they would suddenly take an impromptu break beforehand, because driving a forklift twice a day was soooo taxing on them. And so, I don't work at Lowe's anymore.

When I was able to get home to inspect the delivery, there were items missing that I had to call to ask about. I've had 3 separate stores in the area give me delivery time issues with different materials, at different times. The best response I got from them wasn't an apology, it was just a bunch of excuses about how delivering them when they did was more convenient for them, than providing decent customer service. Until my renovation project is complete, I won't buy ANY more materials from Lowe's that will be a permanent part of my home.

I used to work at lowes for almost a year, some ghetto shit would go down. I almost got in fights multiple times there over trivial shit. Literally a 70 year old man that works there walked up wanting to fight me. Even one guy talked about how he wanted to stab me. People on powered equipment like fork lifts would wreck shit and damage things around the store all the time. People would stay 15 min after there breack ends not giving a shit. There would be thefts all the time. One guy got ran over by the fork lift because the driver was Literally drunk. Boss would try to fuck over employees. One of em would either cover up most of the shti that happens or tell us thing he should not have told wich caused conflicts againts other employees. Do your self a favor. Shop at home depot. Itll be alot safer for your life. People at depot are alot more caring and civilized. Lowes is hood retail. Even the rats will attack you. Yes that almost happend once. I was chased out of the building because of rats at the green house. People at depot will take care of you and help you out.

That is true. There are about 4 Lowe's stores near me. They all absolutely Suck. There are also about 5 HD around here and two are great while the others, by comparison to the other 2, are not as great to shop in. However, the one I mainly use, is within walking distance if I needed to, is also something like the 5th busiest/5th largest by volume in the world. When I first started using it about 8 years ago, it was great. The store was stocked, cleaned, well staffed, trained staff, etc. Well, right after Hurricane Ida hit here, they had a huge management team change. (Apparently the outgoing was promoted) The incoming crew had a few hiccups. So I figured it was growing pains. I used to be able to talk to the other managers and they'd fix the issue or at least make an effort to do so. We'll, this new team is hard to contact, rarely gets back to you and some are a bit dismissive at times. They hired a few new associates that are lazy or just don't care. They forget that we also have the survey at the bottom of the receipts.

During the worst part of the 2008 downturn, you even had laid off employees there seeking daily contract employment.
