This is the video I’ve been searching for - factual answers to my many questions! So helpful to at least know what some potential starting points are - amazing!!! Thank you so much 🙏🏻
Even though we are years off GCSE's this is such a reassuring video and will help me answer every time someone says "what about GCSE's" to me even though my kids are only 5 😄
Another well thought out and useful video and made me feel like I could do it too! All I need now is to lose 20 years :) Can i suggest that you start doing Timestamps to create easy to find chapters in these videos?
are there resources anyone knows where i can do the lessons for gcse online. because im considering doing igcse online but i dont know any websites or resources to learn for topics i havent learnt for my gcse. idk if this makes sence.
Hi, I talk about resources in this video- ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hrlIxUsdEYQ.htmlsi=yc49RHow3fb3SWs8 You can also check out the following website- he-exams.fandom.com/wiki/HE_Exams_Wiki
Hi, to get into university there is more than just one route. You can do A levels from home, although you are more limited in the subjects you can do from home than for GCSE. There are UK Facebook groups centred around home educators of A level students. I recommend starting with- facebook.com/share/2hJjnVW4Pz8x5xVb/?mibextid=K35XfP With GCSE’s (sometimes with only Maths and English) you can enter colleges and do a foundation type course where you can achieve the necessary UCAS points to enter university courses. They can even support your child to do maths and English GCSE if they haven’t already got them. The best thing to do is visit the Facebook groups above, talk to your local college, contact UCAS (look up their website) and research what options are available. There are also degree apprenticeships that can be done (See the UCAS website).
Hi there. Thank you for this video. My son will be in Year 7 next year and I'm looking into continuing homeschooling. Can you please tell me if you used tutors or online platforms for secondary or did they attend face to face classes etc? Thank you.
Hello, my daughter just completed year 7. I have a video where I share everything that we did. We used a mixture of text books and some online courses. She had my guidance and support, no face to face tutors. Here’s the video link - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kUxFZ3sc0NQ.htmlsi=mIUoYShOn65fDkTI
Thanks for your comment. For my older children we use various course providers both online and distance learning. This has been the more practical way for us than the self study route because it gives me more time to directly teach the younger 3. I hope to do a video about this very soon!
Hey how do you get a teen to listen, do the work and not say no and just play xbox?! Hes back in school as he doesnt listen but it doesnt help i have a toddler most of the time😅
Ah, bless you. For us, having a bit of structure helps. Video games etc. are allowed once duties and responsibilities are done. Like any family though, it’s definitely not always plain sailing! We have to keep up the communication and encouragement, whilst making boundaries clear. They have to understand and be reminded that it’s part of growing up and that you have their best interests at heart, but it can be tricky at times. Best wishes to and yours. X
@@Mariammaoy Hi, I’m not quite sure what you mean. Do you mean how do you start home schooling? Or do you mean how do you make an application to sit a GCSE exam?
Hi, we have used various exam boards depending on which courses we choose. Edexcel IGCSEs for English Language, Maths and Sciences, CIE (Cambridge) IGCSEs for Computer Sciences, AQA GCSEs for History etc… it’s best to decide first which syllabus will suit your child. The HE Wiki webpage(see links) is a great one to start researching as well as the individual exam board websites or course providers. The main thing is that you choose boards that offer exam only I/GCSEs. Also make sure that the exam centre you choose offers to have particular exam board examinations.
The very first thing you need to teach young people is correct grammar. For goodness sake can you please ask people to stop using an apostrophe on plurals!!!!!!
Well spotted. I cannot believe I missed that! Thank you so much for pointing it out. I have corrected the mistake. You’re absolutely right. Grammar matters. ☺️
