First discovered Home Free on The Sing-Off & immediately loved them; then I had a lot of 'crazy life' and admittedly forgot about this amazing group; around two weeks ago I was visiting my sister and she reignited the love I'd always had for Home Free (especially Tim) 🔥; I've listened to them every chance I get.
I dont mind admitting that I am 51 yrs.old, because I've been in love with music my WHOLE life! That being said, I just want you guys to know that your voices are INCREDIBLY AWESOME! & You each have beautiful voices, no doubt, but when you come together as one sound....WOW! I WAS COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY! AND, I know without a doubt, that you guys are the most AMAZING group I've EVER heard!
Wow, I forgot all about this. Watched it years ago and it is so good !!! The guys are all so young, Rob has not changed at all but Austin sure has. They are doing so well now, sure has been a roller coaster ride, the guys are coming back together and finally able to start touring again and lets pray Covid does not rear its UGLY head again !!!!!!
So glad you guys take time to come to a small town like hibbing mn for your concerts and I am a such a big fan and think all of you are so awesome haven't missed a show in hibbing. You guys are so awesome I like to sign because of you guys
Okay Home Free guys.... You guys are all so likeable, the more I've gotten to "know" you, the more I love your interviews..... So, when will you do new ones like this???? Come on guys, I want a documentary!
Just came here to find out who was the lead on, "A Little Bit Of Everything", since it didn't sound like the guys who usually get the individual solos. I had guessed right, and it just confirms that there are no weak links in this group. Everyone in it, IMO, could do well on their own. (Not as well as the whole, but you get my drift I hope!) Looking forward to much, much more from Home Free! Oh, and Rob, hello from Duluth!
Tim is probably one of the best bases ever in A Capella music, but don't forget some early bases from the christian a cappella world such as Rodney Britt and Wes McKenzie
While Tim and Avi are exceptional basses, there are definitely others of the same caliber. Anders Jalkéus of The Real Group and Barry Carl formerly of Rockapella spring to mind immediately, but there are others.
Can someone tell me: Who does the last sustained "of Fireeee..." at the end of "Ring of Fire?" Even as a trained musician I don't want to make a guess since both Tim and Avi have the range to park that note deep! I think it's Avi, but I could be mistaken. My students keep asking me "Does Avi or the long haired dude sing the last note?" I don't want to tell them the wrong person! Thanks in advance! P.S. A "Ring of Fire" video WITH Avi would be phenomenal! Please consider it!
Tim Foust, the "long haired dude" from Home Free, can in fact reach that note. Unbelievable I know, but he can sing all the way down to a G#5. Insanity. No effects here Sara! (You can even find a live performance of them singing it on The Sing-Off on RU-vid).
That what I thought john williams! It sounded like Avi, but I didn't want to pass on any misinformation to my students. Chris O'Brien: I love Tim's range. My students were not expecting sound like that when I first introduced them to Home Free. They were duly impressed. I have seen the video from The Sing-Off! Tim nailed it! He just parked right on the pitch! So Awesome! F# sure seems like an odd note/tonic key. I pitched it stereo to piano it sounded more like a G, the lowest G on my Yamaha. However, my piano is a bit out of tune, it could be a half as step off. Thank You for responding, Gentlemen! I appreciate it!
When Tim was doing the solo in the competition, they didn't have a bass singer, so putting avi in meant that the basses could do their parts and there still be a bass part. I hope that made sense, I lost my train of thought half way through a word.
I'm pretty sure it means that they didn't have to add any extra layers of sound to the song. In the album version of I've seen Tim sings lead, but also sings the base section, so they recorded both parts and it was all put together for the final track. When they do it live, Chris sings lead instead (both versions are absolutely incredible btw, def check them out). So on a track where there's only five parts, they don't have one singer doing two different parts at the same time. Does that make sense?
