My favorite version of this song!! After listening to this live version, the recorded version seems somewhat over produced-still great, but I like the “rawness” of the live. It’s fun to hear Opera Rob show up. Watch Tim and Austin’s facial expressions!
An absolute earworm ! I'm an old lady, for heaven's sake, but find myself singing this the whole day long... and my family don't know whether to call the police or an ambulance for me.
I like the live version because you can hear Tim’s mind blowing low notes better and you can see Chance’s face and see just see how much joy it brought him to perform this song. So proud of HF! ❤️🔥
You can really hear Tim can’t you? My goodness he goes insanely low. Everyone sounded great and Adam doing the drums was excellent. Kudos to Chance for writing a great song. Yes, Ubisoft came to Chance and asked him to write a song for the game Skull & Bones. Arrghhh me matey!!!☠🥰
Home Free are deceptively exciting. No big overblown antics on stage or cheap theatrics, but their performances are so audience friendly and musically dynamic you can't help but be energized and excited when they perform. Great reaction.
I love watching Home Free live they never disappoint. You should check out their live performances on The Sing Off it helped mold them into what they are today, you have to watch the judges comments to get the whole experience. Hope you check it out, it’s well worth it you learn so much about Home Free and really watch them grow
The live version seems to open with even a deeper, or perhaps more resonant “Yo-Ho-Yo-Ho, then the lyric version, however, I mis the ha-ha-haa evil laugh at the close of the lyric version! (LOL) Both are excellent!
Most of the "live" Home Free is done on cell phones; hence the audio quality suffers. But, there's a ton of them on RU-vid. The best quality of their live performances was done for The Sing-Off Season Four. It's best to watch the individual group performances as opposed to the compilation, as you'll see & hear the judges reactions. Well worth the effort to watch HF at the beginning of their country music phase and to watch their growth as a group. Mandatory to be seen videos for all Home Fries. 😊
If you see them live it's way better because you can feel the bass going through you, The bass from Tim rattles everything and he's blown speakers before I was at an old theatre when they performed and he cleaned their ceiling of some of the old plaster, it came raining down when Tim hit a low note and I thought they were going to run off stage because it was hitting the stage and first 2 or 3 rows. It was really cool. Adam's beatbox solo is best live too.
I really like seeing this live version as it shows who is doing what parts. Tim & Chance are doing the really low notes in the beginning. Chance has his guitar & Austin is playing a mandolin. Adam is holding down the percussion sounds. And Austin & Rob are adding a fuller sound with their harmonies. Wish it was the longer version of the song. These guys are so supportive of each other's talents & projects.
I'm a pirate since birth, so yea we always need more shanties ☠️😂 love that Chance got to shine and the guys backed him up! Thanks for another great reaction, as always! 😊
Did you get a look of Austins face when Tim dropped so Amazing low ? Funny as can be, this song is so very good. Chance really did a Great job writing and performing !!!
You asked for some live suggestions. Here's a live original song by HF you might like: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-M6pqz8AbDyM.html It's called Catch Me If You Can. I like it because you can hear what all five of them are singing very clearly. You might want to also listen to the studio version -- ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yGzXLheRkTI.html -- of this just for a comparison. Rob really shines on this one, but with the live version, you really hear what everybody is singing, and that makes it very interesting to analyze. Thanks for reacting to the guys again.
Make it a point to go see them in concert. Tim's bass on the videos is incredible but live will knock your socks off. Have seen them live and I am here to tell you every penny you spend to go see them is worth it.
I think the bass in the live version is more pronounced than in the lyric video. I'd love to see the full length song live but I haven't seen it listed anywhere. I don't think you've heard Rob & Austin's "Two Country Singers Try Singing Opera" (on Austin's channel) or an 2018 live HF video "Timeless with special dancer": ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-w_PwIH6LhJsf.html - I guarantee it will make you smile.
Great review! You haven’t reviewed their performances from the Sing Off where they started to get famous. If you do them, consider doing the ones with the show clips, it gives you a peek into the personalities of the guys. Judge comments after each one would be your choice to include or not. I wish I had watched them sooner in my HF journey.
I've been a fan of theirs since they were on the Sing-off years ago. The wild thing is, Adam is the only "new" member, so they have been together awhile. The version they did of Ring of Fire on the Sing-off is a MUST! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eYELP1qwFA8.html
OK - a bit long, but virtually everyone gets to show off. Not sure why they left 1 verse out for the live "launch party" version. That's the only negative for me. Otherwise, I agree with everyone else and prefer being able to see them sing it.
