I Can't wait for this. So many of his stories are sooooo funny. I love the one where his cruise ship took off and left him somewhere in South America (i think it was)...and the adventure that brought about.
All the story times with Tim are great! I particularly like "Nate Mares". The guys all had various jobs in their past. At one time, Chris worked for Microsoft I believe. Rob was a bartender and had at one time worked at a call center too I think. Tim was in dental school for a while, worked as a song writer in LA and was a substitute math teacher. Austin was a Disney Performer at one time, then got on the cruise ship performing. The only one I really don't know about is Adam, though I do know he did graduate from college with a music degree in trumpet and also plays bass guitar and drums. Tim proves in this that not only can he come across a a salty guy with a sense of humor, but is a soft hearted man.
Yes, Austin met the HF guys while they were performing on a cruise ship-Austin was on for the entire cruise and HF was brought in as special guests. Tim was a substitute teacher, mostly math, when he wasn’t working as a songwriter full-time (a really cool story he shared in an interview with Elizabeth of The Charismatic Voice). Rob really was a bartender. It was one of those serendipitous things that these guys ended up together. Thanks, Jeremy and Jillian!
Thanks Jeremy and Jillian for a super reaction to these wonderful story times with Tim! Also thanks to Ruth for the compilation! Tim said in one of the Home Free Histories (available on Chris's channel) that he has a "playfully abusive" relationship with the audience, but he has the softest heart and is not afraid to show his emotions. I absolutely applaud him and the rest of Home Free for their fearlessness in speaking out against all kinds of injustice.
Maybe Jeremy and Jillian can add those Home Free History videos. Those are great and I love hearing their stories about the history of the group amd other members that came and went before.
Thank you Ruth, and Jeremy, Jillian, Thanks so much for the kind words to the guys, I still cry every time I listen to Tim's tribute to Chris, It reminds me of their song, Home Free - Good Ol' Country Harmony. As they grew up with each other, and yes those were their actual jobs at the time.
Tim's original "Good Ol' Country Harmony" is so good - but it's not biographical. Aside from Adam & Rob, who are both from Minnesota, none of the others grew up in the same state. Austin's from south Georgia; Tim from southeast Texas and Chance is from Alabama.
This is one of my favourite Story Time With Tim series.❤❤ ❤ Yes Rob was a bartender Austin was a in house singer on a cruise-ship that’s where he met Home Free when they were guest entertainers Tim was a substitute math teacher and also went to school for dentistry.
Maybe one day! This is going to be so much fun...we realize it's midday on a weekday, but if you have time to pop in for the live chat, we'd love to see you Dr. Paul!
Loved this! And your exactly right about how this helps getting to know who they are! And yes! Tim’s personality is great ! I just saw them in concert last month and while we’re waiting to go into the show I spied a chocolate store next to the venue we were at. So when I saw “chocolate” I had to go in. When we walked in I immediately recognized Home Free’s music playing over the stores sound system. So I asked the owner if she knows home free and she said well I hadn’t until today when I had a talk dark headed handsome man with a deep voice come into my store and gave me a cd. That’s totally Tim and who he is! I can just picture him strolling around the block next to the venue and visiting the stores nearby and passing out cds to everyone! They are all so humble and so personable! Love them!
The farewell speech from Tim makes me sob every time! My heart just breaks for Tim! But true to form, in the next video, Tim has me rolling with tears of laughter when he kisses Chris and gives the big finger to Westboro Baptist Church! What a great reaction!
No jokes about it! Home Free is one place where no matter what our lives, beliefs, situations, we can all settle into the universal musical language that is upbeat and unifying. We need more unifying vibes now a days. Always err on the side of the positive. You may not always get the outcome you hope for, but at least you aren't dragging negative baggage behind you.😉
I just found it funny that when Tim said without Chris Rupp that Austin might still be a barely known Cruise singer (or something similar to that) it dawned on me that they are literally on a Country Music Cruise right now! 😂 Thank you Ruth and thank you Jillian and Jeremy, this was fun! Love you guys! ❤
Thank you Ruth,Jillian and Jeremy. Tim is a cryer. When he received his award in his hometown, he was crying before he got up to accept it. He is a master of sarcasm. But when you meet him in person,he's very polite, sweet as can be as they all are. There is no hubris in the group. And yes,he was going to be an orthodontist, but music was his love. And we are grateful for that! Thanks again!
Tim is pretty impulsive sometimes, but we love him. I really enjoy the Home Free reaction videos that you do too. You two are fun and I like that you have a true interest in what they do.
They also have a series of videos on RU-vid that specifically talks about the band and how they started and happenings along the way! It too is full of laughs and lots of interesting stories! Ithinj it’s just called “ history of home free” and I think there is 5 or 6 of them. Chris and even the earlier band members are on there too! Takes you from the start to present day.
@musikbyjh There are 7 episodes. I find any except 4, 5, and 7 hard to hear. But episodes 4, 5 and 7 are the 3 parts of Chris, Tim and Austin's chat. It's the best! Certainly the ones most suited to a reaction or live stream.
Thank you Jeremy, Jillian and Ruth! This still gets me choked up 😢 even though I’ve watched it countless times. Home Free is the best! Those were their real jobs for they joined Home Free.
Those were their gigs to pay the rent ! Tim did substitute teach to pay bills , Rob was a bartender and they met Austin when they went to sing and he was love bombing their music . Adam learning to beat box was amazing but to rise to the top and win national championships multiple times. That had to be so difficult to let chis move on
You rock Ruth! I love these video clips. So glad for your comnents J & J! I agree with what you said about Chris. He is such a sweetheart and very talented. Tim wrote an amazing tribute! I love how both Austin and Adam came over to support Tim when he bent over during his speech. How can you not love these guys? I was lucky enough to see a concert last year on my birthday. Loved it! You really have a whole new appreciation seeing them live! Love you both and your reactions
Thank you, Ruth! I'm so sorry I missed this premiere, Jeremy and Jillian! I've seen the clips before, of course, but they always make my eyes water. Chris was a more fundamental part of HF than he got credit for. Not only as a founder, but as an arranger, as a strong baritone in both harmony and lead, and as a friend to each and every member. I still miss his influence. But we get to follow his own channel, and that's more than great. You should watch, if not record, Chris's series of videos on "The History of Home Free" in 7 (or 8?) parts. The first decade of HF is so amazing. Thanks for sharing Ruth's amazing compilation!
Chris had hair transplants I about 2017 or so. Looks great now Tim is a Cryer. He will tell ya so. The next night they had a Patreon party. They kept referring to the kiss. Was a great 2 nights. Had fries from Europe show up. I am from Houston and so glad I made the trip!
I do think that Rob was a bartender. Tim's was going to college to become a dentist. He changed his mind. Home Free did actually met Austin on a Royal Caribbean cruise when Matt Atwood was still in the group. He told them if they ever needed he would love to do it. Thank you so much for all you two do for Home Free. Really enjoyed watching your reaction to these videos.
Check out "The History of Home Free" which takes you all the way back to their beginnings through the perspectives of both current and past members. Soooooo cool.
As for the middle video, I think about what HF has meant to me often. I have been to 6 shows in 5 states (military family, I only traveled for a Ryman show). The only other group that has meant as much to me has been Alabama, and I've only seen them once. HF has left me in tears, left me rolling with laughter, and everything in between. No matter what the future holds, they will always be in my heart.
So very awesome! Chris leaving the group was a big thing. They were all good friends besides being bandmates. Home Free has come a long way and I hope they keep them coming! Love your reactions! ♥
Ok you 2, Conner ^ I keep watching this too & he's still giggling & saying "I can't believe Ms Jillian knows my name!'. Home Free just brings happiness & togetherness. & that's why we love them so much. ❤❤😘😘
So glad to get to sit and enjoy story time before bed! A little tear during the beautiful goodbye message, but then big laughs at the kiss! ❤ 🎶 Wish I could have joined the live fun!
I’m going to do all I can to catch this live. I’ve been waiting for you guys to do a Story Time with Tim and now you’re doing a 3 video compilation 😃🥳🫶🏻
Hey Ann!! We sure do hope you can make it!! But just to be clear, it's a watch party with a live CHAT, we won't be live on the video. Still a BLAST though!!! We did our first watch party with a different band and had nearly 600 people join the chat...it was HYSTERICAL and so much fun. Hope you can join us Fri!!! xo, Jillian
I am with you, I am so glad Tim said what he said, makes you really stop and think of what home free really means to you, thank you Chris for everything. Tim is definitely one of a kind and I love him, but just watching the other guys faces when he kissed Chriss was priceless.
Hone Free is a totally unique group of friends with incredible blend of talents that compliment each other! Chris has 5 videos that follow the history of hard work and dedication that it took the get Home Free going. May be long for the channel but worth it personally.
Yes that's what their jobs were before joining the group. In 2012, Austin Brown was working on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship as a featured singer in their production shows
Thanks J & J for this! Made me laugh and almost cry a little. Yeah Tim was a substitute Math teacher (if I had had him as my math teacher I might have liked it a little better) and maybe enrolled at dentistry school but I’m not sure. When Tim bent over reading his tribute that got to me. He held it together. Yeah the kiss was funny! Loved this and your reactions!🥰😃
Jeremy asked if it was hard for Tim to hit those low notes. In an interview, he said just talking throughout the day is enough for the lows. It's the highs he has to really warm up for.
I love the ''Story Time With Tim" videos - he is a terrific story teller with amazing comic timing. The story about this nasty group of people (even in Canada I read about these *(#@# picketing military funerals!) always makes me laugh! BTW, I understand that, contrary to how it sounds,, "Bless your/his/her/their heart" is a southern insult.
Later on during the Westboro Baptist concert, Tim is talking the mothers of Home free and they did a tribute. He talks how it was memorable show for her because of the tribute and she got to hear him say he would kiss a guy to anger the Westboro church
I think it is Adam's choice to beat box while Tim does Storytime. It's only my impression but I believe he needs to be doing something. Sometimes he just listens but he does usually do some beatboxing.
To add to this list, is the "Patreon Party," that was held for the Patreon fans, sometime after. It's really funny. I think there's one viral video, but there's couple different ones, from different angles. Or, find the specific segments, "Uncle Tim Runs His Mouth," and the performance, "Little Red Riding Hood."
RUTH! Your compilation was great! And, of course, Jillian & Jeremy did their usual great reaction. I always wondered how much "liquid courage" Tim needed to kiss Chris?
I have to be honest when Chris first said he was leaving, I was bitter, he was part of what made us all Love HF. Didn’t take long to get over that. What’s being N adult means❤️❤️❤️
I hadn't heard of you guys until I saw you mentioned me in the description haha. Thanks for using my video! Sorry for the weird zooms, unsteady hands & maybe some sniffling. It was an emotional night haha
Hey Chandy!! Thanks so much for TAKING the video!! I truly think all the movement was our fault in trying to stabilize the video. No need to apologize, we are truly grateful for your willingness to share with the rest of us Fries!!! Thank you for watching!! PS: if you ever need another dose of Home Free, we have a massive library for you! ❤️🥷🏻✌🏽 ru-vid.com/group/PLYrkTp-j9yal9TybrDgHIHochUwtWVzxz
Chris had hair implants after he left Home Free. There's a video on You Tube about it. Chris really did a great thing in coming up with the idea and his hard work. I just think that nobody gives Adam his due. When Chris had to go I believe to work on an oil rig or something like that; Adam held things together and just kept pushing to make the band into a success. Both men were very determined and made it happen. Thank God for their tenacity.
❤btw the Rupp boys also have a sister that sings. Chris had an a cappella group with her called 7th Ave. they have videos on RU-vid. I think they stopped during covid. Tim was a substitute teacher and had considered becoming a dentist. They really did meet Austin while singing on a cruise ship. Btw there is a voice play video for when J. None announced he was going to the navy. I think there is one for when Earl left too. Btw J. None recently dropped a new solo video called Am I here! Avi Kaplan had dropped a new 1 too. ❤😂🎉
Yes, checking in on your channel as a Home Free fan and became a subscriber last year sometime. The Home Fries 🍟 when we learn of another reaction by someone else we land in force as subscribers. Thank you two for reacting regularly to Home Free! ❣️❣️❣️
Love your channel and love you guys. You need to react to Home Free's cover of "Everybody Walking This Land". The statement this song makes is very strong and the way they preform it is amazing. Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much, Darren!! Jeremy did "everybody walking..." solo, when the channel first started. We may do again with the both of us. Here you go: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rwFv85--glw.htmlsi=iTa3BI6npXTI7kCa
Speaking of Tim delivering his sassy sarcasm with a straight face… you need to watch: “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)” #StoryTimeWithTim of Home Free @ the UofM Morris 10-9-15
Just saw your reaction to Colder Weather last week. K just wanted lo let you know that Adam let's his hair grow long then he will cut it short and donate it to a group that makes wigs for cancer patients. I heard that in an interview they did.
This was a great compilation. I’ve seen all three of those videos but not in succession. I mentioned this in the chat but if you want to know why Westboro was upset at Home Free, my bet it was this skit for the song, Your Man. It’s my favorite performance of the song. You can just watch it or react to it, your choice. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-d3HcWtA5Ebk.htmlsi=chZwiNOg3Wdq2Tjn
Marsha has a lot of live videos on her channel & the folks that do their live shows has good videos of home free live. I think it’s called Russell Productions but I may be wrong on the name.
There are so very many story time with Tim episodes out there!! They talk of their time on the road and things have happened to them along the way lol dick right into them! Great entertainment the other side of home for you need to learn about is there support of each !! During hurricane Katrina tim’s hometown was partially wiped out with the flooding in the hurricane! Within two days all the guys had gone to their own studio and recorded the song god bless Texas!! All the proceeds went to the victims of the hurricane! And their video you’ll see a lot of volunteers and bright green shirts two of them are Tim’s mother and Tim’s sister helping! They later on donated some funds to hurricane in Florida! Be sure to watch the cover of mom live on stage performance… They were promoting a group called Child Find. As a group they Promoted donating children of all kinds across the world can be helped to have a better life! They 😂gave away teddy bear from their video “everything will be OK”. if you sponsored 1 child you got a bear, 2 or more kids they might send Rob home with you! More reasons to LOVE Home Free!!!
We know, so sad in one sense!! But...change is good, and after listening to Austin and Amberly's two RU-vid videos, it seems like he is ready to be home more and perhaps grow their family at some point. So good on him!! At least he'll be with Home Free a chunk of this year, and you know the guys wouldn't pick anyone that didn't "fit" the group. We'll be ok!!! Big hugs, Jillian
