hopping on this video 2 years late but I just wanted to share a tip! I have CarPlay in my car (similar to bluetooth). when i’m driving I will draft a note in my phone via handsfree bluetooth/ siri. So my narrative notes can be done while i’m driving seeing patients, and when I get home I copy and paste the narrative note in my charting!
The Google voice recommendation is gold! Thank you for this helpful video. I am new to home health care as an RN, so your thoughts and input is very helpful.
I just wanted to say thank you for this video.. are you still in the business? I've been doing hospice for almost 2 years now with a little home care also in there. We use HCHB, it's been a ton to learn how to use. Charting has gotten quicker..BUT is is still a lot! We have an on call number..BUT YES...these patients do call is all hours of the night. I give out my personal phone number. You sound like an amazing nurse!!!
Hello there, I am a new grad RN, starting hospice HH in a week. Thank you for this vid, gave me some mental preparedness what to expect and questions to ask when I’m in training!
I'm in the process of creating a new, more in depth one. It'll have examples of SOC documentation. Here's the link to what I have available now. docs.google.com/document/d/1awNGXZ6N-QedgxdhC1HmsODVSHNTj7zeZp6gaSjoihA/edit?usp=sharing
Thank you for sharing. Lots of good tips. I'm homecare nurse for a long time and I'm a traveler. I use a tablet, I have limited clipboard space to save education documentation. I can't figure out how to save education to use in teaching documentation.
This was extremely helpful, thank you! I have a few follow-up questions. Is there a way to get in touch with you about specific home health charting questions?
You may or may not find this useful, but here's the link to my google docs charting guide: docs.google.com/document/d/1awNGXZ6N-QedgxdhC1HmsODVSHNTj7zeZp6gaSjoihA/copy
@@Ktrvrn You are so right! lol. I actually hired a driver to drive me around for about a year. I did charting in between patients and had the driver park a block away or so (hippa reasons). Ate too much of my profits though. I started off LTC, so I know the feeling.
I would not recommend it. Only because I often find myself in situations where I'm forced to be resourceful and creative. If it weren't for my prior nursing experiences I honestly don't know how I (or my patient) would have made it safely through. If you have previous CNA experience, then possibly.
@@EverythingHomeHealth thank you so much for responding.. I have seen home health positions available in my area that accept new grads and I don't feel comfortable enough with my skills to apply to them. Hopefully I will find a position in a Ltc or assisted living facility. Thanks again
@@crystalsdestiny Youre more than welcome! Alot of nurses hate LTC, but I actually learned some of my most valuable lessons and gained so much beneficial experience working LTC.
about 6 weeks into HH and the charting sux! Its slowly getting better, but still a start of care takes at least an hour theres so many boxes and looking at their chart for S=DX's, Vaccines etc.etc.Luckily with Kinser/Oasis charting teaching templates populate re: to DX's of that pt. you just might have to add a few particular things and off you go...Thanks for the info!
Hi! Great video... I'm new to home health and I've tried to download your Google docs but it doesn't seem to work. Is there any other way to download this info? Thank you!
@@EverythingHomeHealth I am definitely considering a move to HH, but I am clueless. I have an interview this Thursday. Hopefully I will learn more soon!
@@noelmansfield8505 Best of luck! It can be a great area to get into, as long as you're informed and aware ahead of time of what HH entails. Any questions, don't hesitate to ask. I need to make more videos... lol.
