Cute things you designed! I just got an S1, but haven't unboxed it yet... Getting space set up. People should be aware the customer service from xTool is really not great. Based out of China, so time difference is just one issue. But they make great products. No, a diode laser can't cut through clear or translucent acrylic. People have had limited success with doing things like painting a "mask" of black paint over it, or putting black cardstock under it, but best to stick to the CO2 for clear acrylic. Again, love your creations!

Thanks for the cool video. The reason your laser there can't cut through clear acrylic is because of the wavelength of the laser light. You mentioned the Xtool P2 so I'm assuming you have one, that will cut through clear acrylic no problem. Even having a more powerful diode laser wouldn't work all it would do is melt the plastic.

You can cut clear acrylic but it must first be coated with a layer of dark washable paint. Once you cut out the pattern, you wash off the paint. I think the laser won’t cut clear because it creates a reflection of the beam??

Mary thank for all your creative ideas. I am amazed by them all! I noticed in one of your videos you shared your Paul David Tripp devotional. I love his devotional and last year my sister and brother-in-law got me the leather bound copy and had it engraved with my name on it. They shared with me what a hard time they had finding someone to engrave it. Would your new engraver do that?

Do some research to see if you can engrave clear acrylic with the paper still on the back. Or maybe put a piece of wood below the acrylic. At first glance, it looks like the sensors can't see the clear acrylic. I'm thinking if you put something underneath the sensors will see that and will be able to engrave. 💖🌞🌵😷

I purchased this machine and am loving the engraving. However, I am having g difficulty getting it to cut. Can you give me some pointers or setting suggestions?
