What is the calculation for the curve in the handle? I would like to try and make one for myself , I can see that the curve of the handle is critical as it will h Keep the handle holder wheel in the correct arc around the bend wheel. Am I thinking about this correctly or over thinking it?
On the other hand, when the U bolt you bent cold is holding the bodywork onto the chassis of a bus with 30 people riding on it, you might want to feel comfortable that the bolt ain't going to break due to stress locked in due to being bent up cold.
Can you tell me what kind of wheels you are using for this? Also measurements for the height of the first wheel from the floor of the bender and the distance to the wheel on the handle from the center of the first wheel hole?
Jonny Johnson I am using a concave wheel aprox 2 inch diameter x 3/4 width with 1/4 bore. First wheel is approximate 1.5 inches from the base ( stationery wheel) . Between the two wheels 2 9/16 inches. Make sure you have a curvature on the handle. When inserting the threade rod it has to clear the 2 wheel in the opening position. It does not matter wheel size. wheel size determine the width of your U bolt. This wheel 2 inch will give you 2 1/8 inch u bolt center to center .
