HOME RENOVATIONS UPDATE 🏠 & Dunelm and Asda Haul 

I suffer from SAD and have done for over 10 years and I have anxiety too. Early on it was really bad but it’s getting better. Can’t wait for spring 😊 Loving the renovation x

The house reno is looking so good. I know it's hard to live through. We redid our kitchen but that was the only room we did at the time. It's not easy and you are doing so many projects at one time!! I'm such an autumn/winter person. I hate summer myself. I'm also not a sunshine person...give me a rainy or snowy day and I'm in heaven! I guess it's the cozy feel like what you like.

The seasons are how I like them. Autumn winter spring and summer. I love the cosiness of the first two but absolutely loathe summer. Can't wait to see the finished renovation

We had a DIY kitchen installed April 2022. No issues & the Customer service staff were 1st class. We had a mock up of all our cabinets for our installers. They said it was a 1st class kitchen , pleasure to install. It will b worth it in the end. I have a spice drawer , fab & under sink drawers. Can't wait to see yours finished it's exciting. Ours is Navy Blue . Enjoy.

Hi Freya. I have been through the same process 2 years ago and love it all now it is finished. Can I just forewarn you to ask you builders to be so careful not to hit the underfloor water pipes when they put the boards on top. Lifting the boards and finding the leak is a nightmare. Ask me how I know😢. Also don't have any joins in the pipes. Good luck. I love your channel.

Hi Freya, the house is really coming on will be lovely when finished, very frustrating when things are not as you want, we had our kitchen done last year and a much smaller project than yours but fortunately all turned ok, will be worth it in the end xx

Ah Freya, you are so sweet, and I am so sorry that you suffer with Anxiety. When I worried about things years ago it was normally not having enough money to buy things my mum used to say to me, there is always someone worse off then you and she was so right especially today the way things are. Whatever I have now I am so grateful for, if you have love in your life and people who care about you, that helps you cope. I do hope the book helps you with your anxiety. Keep well. xx

We used DIY kitchens. We had to design the kitchen ourselves, I think they're cheaper as they don't employ planners. So we were able to use our own plans we'd produced via their planning app. Definitely worth doing as their online planner is really good.

Ahhh the windows! My partner is a builder and we have just finished renovating our place. I remember when he ordered the windows he measured and ordered them all 5mm smaller than what he measured and I was unsure why! Once we installed them I realised that even then they were hard to get in! Crazy how much you learn renovating, excited to do the next place and hopefully have less issues 😅 Your house looks amazing btw Xx

Hello Freya. When I see what you’ve both achieved with your renovation, I can only applaud the way it’s coming together and the way you seem to cope with everything. My reaction to what you have left to do is Aaaaarrrgggghhhhh !!!!! yet you accept that things will take longer than you expected, or want. For someone who suffers with anxiety, you’re blinking marvelous. I think I’d be locking myself in a darkened room. 😂. Barney is an absolute joy. He must be the best companion. Hi Freya. I loved your video as always. Love all the things you picked up you always find great things. Your renovation is going to be amazing can’t wait to see it all finished. I love spring/summer as I suffer from SAD (seasonal affective disorder). The only thing I like about winter is snow, frost and Christmas plus the cosy nights in with hot chocolate and a good book 😂. I am struggling with SAD at the minute as I feel like the awful wind and rain we have had (where I am in Scotland) is never ending so really doesn’t help me at all. I feel your pain Freya as you know we're in the same boat as you and Tom..my husband is a plasterer and is a brilliant at all thing's building wise but we do have some amazing friends in the building trade that help us out.. Once your home is finished and your sat enjoying all the hard work you'll forget about the niggly bits.. I'm Definitely going to buy that vase from Asda it's gorgeous..

Loving the update on your renovations. We are currently renovating a much smaller property and having new windows and doors fitted. Looking at flooring. Which flooring are you considering? I would a herringbone wood floor but don’t want the maintenance. You mentioned LVT? What is this? Love your you tube videos xx

Hiya Freya, I feel your frustration we had almost the exact problems your facing at Christmas. Looking on the bright side now it’s all finished. So keep your chin up….it’s looking great and you have a lot to look forward too soon! Love the fact your bringing us all along, I find it addictive viewing. Omg 😳I could never cope with a renovation, you are amazing obviously doing it floor by floor is best and you keep those areas so nice ….. But I would be crying all the time and not have a clue how to make it better … I live in a one bedroom flat and before we moved everything was down sized . It looked great within 3 years we have out grown our extra storage and even storing my craft stuff in my Mom in law’s garage 😳so we are flipping the flat 🤗bedroom will become lounge, lounge bedroom, and anything that’s not loved or used is out That’s all I can manage. Thanks for the update fresh walls before plaster 🥰. It’s going to be awesome. Already the kitchen looks great. Take care of each other xx x

Thank you for sharing the updates on the ground floor I can’t wait to see it painted and the flooring fitted. How annoying about the kitchen but must say it looks amazing already lucky for you that you have a good fitter. The company should provide plans how are amateurs suppose to cope.

Great video as usual, love all the updates and can't wait to see it finished. Re the spice racks, rather than cut the shelf and re-drill the shelf holes, why not cut the slice racks down in height so they clear the shelves. Just leave space on the shelf itself (that bit is easier said than done, I know - see space, gonna fill space!) I was quite lucky with ours. We had to box in a vertical pipe which meant we could only have a very shallow cupboard so that it was in line with the rest of the units. It was just the right depth for all my spice jars so win, win.

What you have achieved with your house renovation is absolutely amazing it looks stunning . I wish I could hire you to work your magic on mine xx

Hi freya it’s great keeping a journal I’ve had one for a good 35:31 few years now! My mum at 83 years old has kept a journal for at least 20 years! It’s invaluable too as when we need to find out a time or date etc we just ask m and she had the answer 😊😂keep well my dear and soak up the rays 🌸🌹💕

Hi Freya, Iv been a kitchen designer for many years. Every new kitchen needs customising, ie end panels, filler panels between appliances (all appliances are slightly different in measurement so customised panels are always necessary to fill gaps). Also it’s pretty much impossible to get the all exact same units from different companies. It’s great to shop around for kitchens but you must always get a plan from the final company you use, it’s a real challenge for fitters to fit without, if anything, the wrong plan would make it even more complicated for sure 🤪 anyone using DIY kitchens can use their online kitchen tool to do a kitchen plan themselves hence why their costs are so much cheaper, I guess you get what you pay for is what I’m trying to say. It’s like buying a flat pack furniture with no instructions, with the wrong parts ordered and on a much bigger scale 🤣

I’m now going to try fine the vlog that says the paint colour for walls. We have decorators in for the next two weeks to do whole if inside of our house. I got Jasmin white dulux but now I’ve got it home it looks more on the creamy side 🤦‍♀️ xx

Renovation looking great! I love autumn/winter. I get Seasonal Affective Disorder in the summer--I dread summer! I know--a bit unusual to feel that way about summer as most people with SAD feel that way about winter.

A great haul of goodies. Seeing the various cleaning products prompted me to mention a fabulous brand which I think you will love. Purdy & Figg, all natural cleaning products with a bottle for life spray bottle. You simply fill with water and add the small bottle of fluid. I love it because the scents are lovely and no plastics to throw away, so helping our planet. I would love to see you try them to see what you think. Xx

Freya it’s looking amazing! Just wanted to warn you away from Hammonds I got two wardrobes built with them it’s taken 6months wrong colours and though the quality is amazing the whole process has been painful!

I really suffer with SAD (seasonal adjustment disorder) simply because the lack of sunlight, the coldness. I agree being cosy but I'm someone who has to get up and bike to work so when it's dark on the way to work, sitting in front of computer all day then it's dark whe I leave, feels like the day has gone. In the summer, it still feels like I've got time to live a bit after work. It's not autumn that effects me, it's the winter when it's just bleak. Might be also to do with living in a city as winter prolly looks better in countryside. There are many factors to it.

The gorgeous serving bowl could also be used as a big fruit bowl. 🥰

Hi, Freya great savings are always good to save cash, have you heard about Cherryz going through. Save your peelings Freya and freeze you can boil them and drink the broth if you get a cold or flu. I certainly get affected by winter for sure it triggers my anxiety and depression. My current obsession is Nicola Bulley. I can't stop thinking about her and looking for updates. I live pretty close to her village, so I keep going for walks where I think she could be, looking for her 😶 prob won't be able to stop obsessing til she's found 💛

OMG, totally get renovation stress! Did whole house extension/ remodel, totally gutted, layout completely changed, the whole 9 yards. This while I was on maternity leave, our son going through autism assessments, having to live back in my old bedroom, with said 2 children, while my husband had to live back at his parents, as only place with room for the dog! You have my sympathy The things you said about your anxieties, I experience too. Step away from Dr Google! xxx

Wren were excellent from going into store sending a fitter to check and cut units excellent, why sell spice rack if Cant close doors maybe cut spice rack see , you will change when you have your own beautiful garden 🪴

I'm looking at DIY kitchens at the moment. What people have to appreciate is if DIY kitchens provided the exact same service as Howdens etc, their prices would therfore also have to be inflated. You can't expect to pay thousands of pounds less for something and still expect the same service 🤷‍♀️ the reason the price is lower is because you aren't paying the premium for the designs, same level of customer service etc. But I appreciate your frustration.

Autumn is my favourite as well. Summer, too hot, Spring, too muddy. Winter, just no.
